My husband and I have just spend a weekend at the Balmoral. We found all the staff were very polite. Our room was small but comfortable. The food was excellent. The gardens were beautiful. Yes the hotel could do with a little updating but it still a lovely little hotel which is clean and comfortable. We shall go again.

I have recently spent 2 weekends at the Balmoral. The first was for a friends 60th birthday and the second was a quiet weekend away with a friend. Both weekends were extremely enjoyable. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff, they will go out there way to make sure you are looked after. The food is always...

Just returned from the Balmoral in Torquay today. Was our first time here and didn't know what to expect. It turned out to be the holiday we needed, though. The hotel is a charmingly old, but uniquely decorated building located 2 minutes from Meadfoot beach (walking, not driving) and about 4 minutes drive from town centre. Staff are extremely friendly...

The food is excellent nice choice and well presented. Some of the rooms do need to be updated but all the ones I saw were perfectly adequate. This is extremely good...

My sister and I needed to stay in the area for a family funeral, we chose The Balmoral for sentimental reasons and were not disappointed. On explaining our requirements over the phone, the reception staff were helpful in advising on availability. The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout, the staff are the most polite and helpful we have known anywhere, and...

The customer service was second to none with friendly and efficient staff. Good food with reasonable choice. We had a room with a sea and garden view which was large and airy. We had a very pleasant weekend which was excellent value for money. Definitely recommended.

Really nice hotel. the decor was very good. We had a room with a sea view The room was very spacious and the bed was huge. I cannot comment on the food as we didn't eat there. The facilities were good with a very smart guest lounge. The outside garden was large with plenty of chairs and tables to sit...

We have been staying at the Balmoral on and off for the last 23 years. It's is always clean and tidy and since Alex and co have taken over it has been updated to a good standard. The food as always was very good with good choices. The only thing I would say is that this time the bedroom was...

We stayed at the Hotel Balmoral in April - we are a couple away for a business/pleasure trip. First thoughts....dated and a bit 'old peoples home' but clean, tidy and friendly - which are massive positives but the squeaky beds and floor boards soon lose their quirkiness! We were pleasantly surprised that there was entertainment on the Friday night by...
