Detailed Reviews
Anna and Paul (the proprietors) are a lovely couple that made us feel welcome straight away.
They were hospitable throughout and great to have a chat with.
The room had everything you needed: A great comfy bed, a very clean bathroom and lovely cuppa with a biscuit while watching the tv after a long drive, we even had a mini fridge to put our beers in.
Anna made us an amazing cooked English breakfast and a fabulous cup of proper coffee.
I would stay there again and 100% recommend the Crown Lodge Hotel

Thank you to Anna for a lovely stay at her hotel a couple of weeks ago. Rooms were lovely, well presented, extremely clean. Breakfast was wonderful. We loved the freshly baked croissants and pain au chocolate plus the eggs benedict was fab, with a great coffee too. Nothing was too much trouble. Felt really welcome and safe with covid measures in place throughout the hotel. Would definitely recommend to anyone travelling for leisure and family friendly too. Not too far to walk to the sea front and free parking on site. Great price for a lovely B&B. Thanks again, look forward to staying with you again 👍🏻

Stayed for 2 nights with friends on a stag do. The owners were very accommodating and friendly when we arrived. Rooms were a great standard for the price and was clean and tidy and felt very covid safe.
Brilliant to have free on-site parking available and the breakfast was fantastic and they accommodate extremely well for gluten free.
I left my phone charger in the room and didn't realise until I got home and they very kindly sent it back to me in the post.
Will certainly be booking here again when I travel to Torquay next.

Although we only stayed for one night, we were made to feel very welcome. We were pleasantly surprised with our room. It was very clean and tastefully decorated with a nautical theme. The bottles of water were very handy as was the fridge and even a safe. The refreshment tray was filled with tea, coffee and biscuits. Hair dryer, iron and a fan in the room if needed. Breakfast was lovely and was cooked fresh. Nice pot of tea and fresh fruit available. We left the car in the car park whilst we walked to the seafront. Hope to return soon.

Myself and my partner just spent 10 days in Torquay and stayed at the Crown Lodge BnB. Claire and Dave are both great hosts who made us feel so welcome and at home. Very friendly, helpful and attentive. Our room was a good size and we were kept well stocked with biscuits, tea, coffee and hot chocolate etc! The breakfast is great, all made to order and good quality produce! Thank you for a fantastic time, highly recommend this for a stay in Torquay!

Stayed for 5 nights last week. Claire and Dave were wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to make us feel at home. Breakfast was brilliant with lots of choice, full English was a little to much for me but you don’t have to eat it all. Room was clean and had plenty of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. Around a 15-20 minute walk to the sea front and a little further to some of the restaurants. Car parking on site was a definite bonus.

This guesthouse is fantastic. The room was comfy, Anna greeted us and was very friendly all the way through our stay. The food is freshly cooked by them and is locally sourced. It's all very good quality and a standard second to none. This place is definitely oe to revisit from start to finish was a 10 plus experience.

It was the worst place we have ever stayed in, it simply ruined 3 days of our holidays. Absolutely no wifi or reception, we were completely disconnected from the world in our room; no measures for COVID: people were seated next to the other super crowded during breakfast. We were confirmed ahead of time that the extra bed was a good real bed, which wasn't true (tiny foldable uncomfortable bed). The house is located on the road and we couldn't sleep because of the noise. All these could be tolerated, but the worst part was how the stuff treated us. We never experienced such a rudeness and greediness. Due to sleepless night, I asked for a large coffee and was given "a lecture" how I should have my coffee, e.g., I should be happy with the tiny espresso I got. She said that if I want more, I have an instant coffee in my room. I couldn't believe my ears! Should I leave my family during our holiday breakfast and go to the room to prepare myself a coffee?!! Then they commended on everything we were asking for breakfast in an extremely rude way. We were told to have 1 croissant per person in a buffet table, they were literally standing and watching! One of the croissants was from yesterday or even before, it was super dry, so we wanted to take another one instead and we were told off!!! Our son asked for 2 eggs for breakfast and they refused. My goodness, what is that management? The only thing that was not counted, was bread, and since we don't eat one, we were hungry after such a breakfast. We took 1 fruit each from a buffet and had to rush out because it took them 40 minutes to bring our food, so the woman chased us to the stairs shouting that we have to eat it in the breakfast room and not on the way out!!! She literally chased us for this, I was shocked! How a place can treat the guests this way? Greedy, shameless people, sorry we had to experience that on our family holidays.

Myself and my staff are completely dumbfounded by your review. We do understand how embarrassing and difficult it is when your credit card is declined and we both know that , despite you swearing to the opposite, we will never see the payment for the three nights that you spent with us . We did not, purposefully, make your lack of funds any more difficult than it was and to get this kind of nasty reaction, to an act of kindness, is beyond our comprehension. We can only surmise that because you are obviously from an under-privileged background you are not used to these kind of sentiments. We kindly suggest that, should you be allowed to remain in the UK, you learn from the people around you that acts of kindness, like this, are not uncommon here.

Highly recommend this lovely guest house. The location is very good with amenities and the seafront within easy walking distance. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious, clean, light with its’ thoughtful decor with a small fridge, hot drinks facilities, bottles water and toiletries provided. Came down to visit family. Staff are lovely, so welcoming and helpful, anything we needed they helped us with. Always making sure our food was alright, everything in the room was okay and that we had enough to drink. Room was immaculate, lots of space, close to beach front and not far from asda. Lots of options for food and drink, the food was amazing, always nice and hot, cooked to perfection. Such a lovely stay. Thank you, would definitely recommend to anyone.

There's a train station less than a 5 min walk also a bus stop outside hotel
There's a small harbour about a 10min bus ride with restaurants
But if you go to Brixham which is about 5 miles from hotel is a very quaint harbour with lots of shops, arcades, cafes ice cream
It's lovely there.
Sorry, not one in the room we stayed in. Bathrooms are quite small as previously mentioned they have obviously been added to make rooms "en suite". Best to ring the Crown Lodge and ask.
Hello.
As others have stated above, there are 6 allocated Spaces for 6 Rooms.
I suppose if the Rooms are all occupied there will only be one parking per Room allowed. But there is plenty of Street Parking outside.
I hope this helps.
Regards.
Hi,
Unfortunately we do not accept pet of any kind. One local guest house that does accept dogs is Charterhouse on 01803 605804. Hope this helps.
