We arrived at the The Capri and welcomed by Val who showed us to our room, a lovely spacious room with fridge and kettle and coffee machine with a welcome pack.
Fresh white duvet and a comfy bed, plenty of white fluffy towels.
Good size en suite with complimentary shower gel.
Breakfast was served by Val, who had everthing ready on a hot plate for you to serve yourself, plus, toast, croissant, juice, yougurt, tea&coffee, but for me it was Vals scrambled eggs, done perfectly.
We had our own parking place so you could leave the car and walk into Torquay
If you are visiting Torquay definitely book your stay at the Capri

The room was spotlessly clean and a good breakfast. Freshly cooked full English plus lots to choose from including cold meats and even cake!
The owner is very friendly and welcoming and just leaves you to get on with it.
Off road parking if you need it but also close to Torquay railway station (and sea front) so a good location if you are on foot.

Saturday in May, end of half term week, i.e. busy time, and I see The Capri has a room free - handy for an association dinner I'm attending that evening just down the road. The seafront has been closed several hours after a boat fire - much longer drive to my home via the diversion - so I decide in favour of a room for the night. The Capri is showing on Google as open until 9 pm.
I ring more than once that afternoon (i.e. after the road closure): no answer. I call round (I'm a local resident) and the place is locked up and no one at home. Just a point for owners to remove the availability of accommodation that is showing online if no one is going to be there, and/or, if it says you're open for business, somebody be there!

The guest house is well situated, clean and tidy with off road parking (albeit with very narrow spaces)
Disappointed that we had to retrieve the keys for our stay from a key safe outside, situated in a somewhat awkward to reach place for less agile guests!
No one there to greet us, in fact we saw no one at all in the time we were there, such a shame as it makes the place seem very impersonal.
Our room was ok , bed was ok, very tiny en-suite was ok but the shower was rather feeble and had an incredibly heavy shower head…bizarre!
The hospitality tray was adequate, shame the kettle was too big to be filled from the sink though!!
No bottled water provided!
Only UHT milk provided, strange when the rooms have an excellent fridge that fresh milk isn’t supplied…the fridge was completely empty…
We won’t be returning to the Capri guest house I’m afraid, we much prefer a more personal, human experience!

Lovely little guest house, good sized room & friendly, helpful staff. Safety measures in place for Covid-19. Good breakfast. Well located between Torquay & Paignton (both within walking distance) & a 4 min walk to Livermead Sands. Shower in the room was a bit low pressure & the room could benefit from a fan in the summer as it gets very hot. Overall a great stay & would definitely return for future visits.

For a quiet getaway this is the place. Nothing but the best from arrival to leaving. When we arrived we were met and showed to our room, the place looked so homely. The owners were very welcoming and friendly and nothing was to much trouble. The room was spotless and extremely comfortable with everything you would need. Breakfast was out of this world, breakfast was cooked to perfection and lots of choice. Will be returning for sure.

Had the pleasure of staying at the Capri for 3 nights.
Welcomed with a warm smile and Val was a wonderful host.
It’s a small hotel but has a lovely welcoming homely feel.
It’s impeccably clean, and the rooms are comfortable. A fridge and tea and coffee facilities in the room was a added bonus.
Breakfast has something for everyone with lots of choice and is well organised and presented so items are kept cool or warm.

The hotel is located a short walk along the coast line into the town centre with stunning views along the way.
The bus stops just outside, but we found a taxi was cheaper for our family of four.

Highly recommend, great value for money.

Lovely clean and well situated guest house. Room was out the back (so no noise from busy road out the front). The only thing we could find fault with is shower not very powerful and breakfast is served between 8.30 and 9, which we found a bit limiting.

We had a wonderful stay at The Capri. It’s in a great location, not far from Torquay train station and you can walk to the beach and a scenic walk into town.

All amenities were provided, rooms were spacious and clean with an en-suite and the owners were welcoming, very friendly and willing to help, ensuring we had a fantastic time! I would 100% stay here again and would highly recommend!
