Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Brandize and the hosts went above and beyond we make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. We had our 5 month old baby with us and prior to arriving they made sure we had everything we needed and kept communication open.
Once we arrived we received a warm welcome and shown to our room, which was lovely and spacious and seemed to have been newly decorated.
The breakfast was also superb with a very easy ordering system, whereby you scanned the menu and made your selections. They offer a full cooked breakfast along with an array of continental choices and you are free to order as much as you like.
The guesthouse is also in a great location, central to Torquay beach with all its bars and restaurants and is only an enjoyable 15 min walk away.

Safe to say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will book again next time in Torquay. Thank you.

Booked this guest house for a recent trip to Torquay and this place stands out. Warm welcome great PPE controls in place and a lovely clean room with many extras. Shower gel ,soap ,hand sanitiser ,and wet wipes all provided along with bottles of water and lovely biscuits. The bedrooms were well decorated and there were 2 lovely comfortable chairs covered in velvet. Superb bathroom and modern shower and a wonderful heated towel rail which made getting up in the mornings so comfortable. We had the best nights sleep for the 2 nights we stayed here and the beds pillows and throws are so comfortable we were more than happy there. Breakfasts are well organised, you order the night before everything is freshly made to order and promptly served when you need it. The couple who run this place are lovely and so kind and accommodating and this guest house is a 15 minute walk to all the amenities.
Car parking at the front is available and as we are regular visitors to Torquay we will certainly be coming here again. The new owners who have taken over this guest house clearly care about the comfort of their guests and it shows we loved it and will be back soon.

We have just arrived home after a great 5 night stay at Brandize hotel.

Tim and Vicky are such great people and made our stay very memorable the hotel was lovely and clean and really well decorated and maintained.

There is ample parking to the front of the hotel and a great little garden and seating area.... Our kids loved the board games in the lounge and loved sleeping in the bunk beds in the family room.

Breakfast is absolutely delicious and is cooked to perfection nothing was left on our plates even our fussy children ate everything.

Our beds were made everyday and fresh tea and coffee along with bottled water in our room which was a really good service.

We just want to say a big Thank you to Tim and Vicky for all their hard work making our stay perfect and we will definitely visit again in the near future.

Just got back home from a 6 night stay at this wonderful hotel, the room was perfectly clean and were very comfortable, the little touches of the hand gel, bottles of water, biscuits , tea, coffee and hot chocolate were really appreciated and were replenished every day. The breakfast was one of the best ones we have ever had in a hotel the sausages were to die for.
The host Tim and Vicky were very attentive and couldn't do enough for you, they took time to ask how our previous day had gone and our plans for that day were, which I think is a very nice touch.
Would definitely recommend staying here.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and thank you for a wonderful review. The sausages we use are produced by a butcher here in Torquay using meat from local farms which is great to know. They certainly help make our breakfast feel special which sets everyone up for a good day. We look forward to seeing you again some time.

We stayed at the Brandize for 4 nights. What a lovely place. The hotel is in a lovely quiet area probably a 20 minute walk from the harbour. We had a spacious double room with a comfy bed and a large ensuite shower. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk and sugar, biscuits and bottled water all provided in the rooms and were replenished every day. Toiletries were also provided. The breakfast was extra special. All good quality ingredients and very tasty. Tim and Vicky were very friendly and attentive and always took the time to ask how we were spending our time in Torquay. Definitely a place we would stay again. Thank you both for helping make our stay a very enjoyable one.

My wife and I have returned today from a two night stay and we can't speak highly enough of Tim and Vicky who greeted us with nothing too much trouble even to the point of saying when we leave to ring the bell so they can say goodbye. .. My wife is gluten free and they went over and above for her dietary needs and even went to the trouble of gluten free biscuits in the room.. The room was lovely and clean and the breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.
When we visit torquay for an overnight stay or two we will definately go back here and I must say great value for money..

Appalling service. I don't usually write reviews but wanted to make people aware that we booked directly through the Brandize's website, they took payment, and then a week before our stay we received a cancellation email as if we had been the ones to cancel, with no refund issued. Have not been able to get hold of the owner via email or telephone ever since. Complete breach of their T&Cs and I'm seeking advice as to how to get hold of a refund. Disgraceful way of running a business and I advise everyone to avoid booking a stay here.

We've been usure about travelling due to the pandemic, I work as NHS staff and whilst not scared for myself, I'm worried about unknowingly making patients unwell. I was so glad that we stayed at the Brandize Guest House. Vicky could not have been more helpful and along with her partner Tim is doing a very well organised job of running / managing the guest house. Nothing was too much, very organised systematic and reassuring. The room was very comfomfortable, very clean. Lots of thoughtful small touches. Lots of choice for breakfast, perfectly cooked. It's in a great position, very easy walk into the harbour front, and close to the lovely Abbey Gardens that you can walk through on your way to the harbour. We will recommend to family and friends.

Me and my partner stayed here for 2 nights and it was absolutely wonderful. The couple who own the guest house are amazing .friendly, polite and go above and beyond to help in any way they can. The room was clean and extremely comfortable. The guest house is only a short 10 minute walk into Torquay centre but it's so peaceful and quiet. The breakfast was brilliant and they will try their best to cater to everyone's needs. We will definitely be booking here again.
