We spent 2 nights at Garway Lodge & it could not have gone better.
Joseph and Steve the proprietors gave us a warm and friendly welcome. Our room had everything we could wish for, & more. The rooms are very tastefully decorated & furnished to a high standard, to give a homely feel. Our room had a huge comfortable bed, very nice shower room en-suite, wardrobe and storage space. Everything is provided.
Garway Lodge has a comfortable sitting room for guests to use, with smart tv, books. games, and self service bar for that nightcap in the evening.
Breakfast provides cereals, fresh fruit, pastries, fruit juice, smoothies and of course plenty of toast, tea and coffee. Joseph cooks a full English that is simply outstanding.
Vegetarian and vegan options are available plus other cooked options on the breakfast menu.
Will we come back? Absolutely we will!

Staying here really adds to my holiday experience in Torquay. The hosts are warm, welcoming and always willing to help guests to have as great a time as possible. My single room was a good size with a comfortable bed. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Garway Lodge is within easy walking distance of a bus stop to catch a bus into central Torquay.

Simply delightful
Three exceptional night’s stay at this simply delightful guest house in Torquay. The owners were so very friendly and attentive and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Ensuring we had everything we needed and always offering more.
The guest house itself was immaculate. So very tastefully decorated and with every comfort imaginable. So many little extras in the room really made for such a luxurious feel. The warm and comfortable visitor lounge with honesty bar was a lovely place to relax in the evening too.
With the relatively short walk (10 minutes fast pace for me) to the sea front and harbour I enjoyed early morning walks before heading back to the guest house to freshen up before breakfast.
Joseph’s breakfasts were just amazing, everything locally sourced and tasting so fresh and delicious.
Steve’s excellent home cooked cakes and goodies were such a welcome treat.
Massive thanks to both Joseph and Steve for a fabulous stay. I would highly recommend this guest house to anyone visiting the area.

My fiancée and I loved our short stay at Garway Lodge.
The booking was seamless and when we arrived we were greeted by Joseph and Steve (and their cat Mr. Bear) who are very friendly and explained everything really well. They provided a mix of snacks and drinks for our room, including homemade fudge and cake which were delicious.
Our room was decorated really well and was very comfortable to stay in. Our cooked breakfast the following day was delicious and overall their home was very welcoming.
We would definitely stay at Garway Lodge again and would highly recommend staying there.

We were made to feel so welcome at Garway Lodge. Steve and Joe went out of their way to make our Valentine stay special. They have recently taken over the property and are making lots of improvements and additions. We had two delicious breakfasts, including eggs Benedict which is difficult to get right. They use local produce where appropriate and provide very generous treats in the room. We would definitely recommend this b and b.

I’ve stayed in 5 star ‘luxury’ hotels that could learn a thing or two from The Garway Lodge in Torquay.
Where to begin - from the pure white ( and very fluffy !) towels in the bathroom, the crisp pristine white bedding that smells of summer meadows, the little personal touches of this little b&b are incredible . Nothing seems to be too much trouble for the hosts, breakfast requests made to order ( amazing perfect poached free range eggs) every day I come back from a day out and there’s a fresh supply of not only tea and coffee in my room, but individually wrapped tempting biscuits , and treats for my dogs who are staying with me.
Always a friendly smile, a lovely natter over breakfast - all in all fantastic personal attention.
Will definitely be back next year !

We stayed here for 5 nights and never been anywhere we have felt so welcome, the room was fantastic along with Steven & Joseph making it feel like a real home from home. They went above and beyond to accommodate us with freshly baked cakes every day and a fantastic breakfast, we would highly recommend this place as you will never find a place like this anywhere. I forgot to mention there was lots of sweets in our room as well as a bottle of wine in the fridge and they also have a lovely lounge with an honesty bar to relax of an evening, if they didn’t have a drink there you liked then went and got it for you. The fact they had an EV charger for me was an added bonus. I would give 10 stars if I could thank you both.

Well what can I say absolutely brilliant hosts, Steve, Joseph and of course Mr Bear. Their attention to detail is unbelievable, they have literally thought of everything. They can't do enough for you and you can tell it's genuine. Me and my friend went round the room amazed at all the little things that they have in each room. Not just towels but bath robes,quality ones too. There's loads of room for storage including a fridge with milk and bottled water. I have already booked to come back next year with my mum for her 70th birthday. Oh and they feed you cake lots of cake. I honestly can't recommend this place enough. Thank you guys for making our stay feel so special. You definitely spoilt us. See you next year xx

I would very much recommend Garway Lodge. Steven and Joseph are very welcoming and generous hosts. My room was extremely clean and the attention to detail was amazing, which made my stay even more comfortable - including the vegan alternatives, home made cake and a very well stocked bathroom. This is a dog friendly B and B.
