Stayed with my wife and my kid for a long weekend. The owner of the hotel kindly offered the baby cot as I forgot to book a room including kid.

The receptionist was not rude but not friendly either. We ordered take away on Friday night and I was hoping to eat it in the bar as there was only one chair in our small room and ants crawling on the table! The guy said you can eat it outside but not at the bar (there were only two guys in the bar at that time).

The ventilation in the room was below par. Social distancing was my major concern while having breakfast. Staff were not wearing a mask when serving breakfast and there were no social distancing in the eating area - circa 15 - 20 people having breakfast in a relatively small dining room.

Myself and 5 children spent 3 nights here over New Years Eve. We had a fantastic time. One of my children is on the autistic spectrum and one has ADD so staying away from home can often be problematic. The staff were always kind and patient, and definitely all have a sense of humour.

We stayed in room 15, it was spotless on arrival. Beds were all comfortable and clean, more than enough immaculately clean towels and a nice selection of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits which the kids throughly enjoyed.

The hotel itself is in a good location, a 5minute stroll into Bournemouth town centre and 5 minutes from one of the cliff zigzags which leads you to the beach.

David and his team are all lovely and caring and nothing was too much trouble.

Thank you and I wish you a successful 2020

Checked in on Monday, 2 rooms, room 8 was clean and looks lovely bunk bed and spacious, room 19 wasn’t ready when checked in which was fine but when we could go in the room, kids bed was not clean, hairs, sand and tissue in the bed and bathroom had toothpaste on sink rubbish on side, milks and biscuits not topped up, told David and went beach, came back and bed still not clean and still no milk but the rest had been cleaned, shower didn’t work in sounded like motor had gone, so no shower on 1st night.

Room 8 one of the 2 windows didn’t open and cold tap broke so no cold water coming out, just red hot water so couldn’t get drink, wash kids or brush teeth, told David and he said will get plumber out tomorrow, next day went beach again came back David had fixed shower, but tap not fixed in other room was waiting on plumber, eventually the tap was fixed leaving his plumbers grease on sink.

next day tap not working again. (Not good when got kids) didn’t bother telling David as checking out in morning, I think these plumbing issues are regular as a staff member knew which room we were talking about before we even said, David is nice and tried to resolve the issues but facilities let him down, should have maybe offered bottled water. Hot tub looked lovely however didn’t go in as £5 per child and £10 per adult for an hour which we didn’t want to pay but good if u wanted to, beds comfy but noisy, breakfast ok, location amazing and price cheap so didn’t expect 5 star but expect a shower and cold water.

From the get the manager, were so so rude and grumpy. One of our rooms hadn’t even been cleaned, sheets not been changed, rubbish in the bin, used toilet hadn’t even been flushed. Our room had marks all over the wall and curtains and the shower was completely useless.

Don’t even get me started on the parking situation, we had been blocked in but there was no way to know who had blocked us in and when we went to ask the staff, we were completely ignored, was ringing the bell at the desk for ages. It’s not like I just needed to pop to the shop, my partner was very very ill and needed to be taken home ASAP and had to get a train because we couldn’t have access to our car!!!

The food was okay if you want to be waiting half an hour before anyone comes over to see you, while 3 of the staff are behind the bar just talking. Interesting approach I must say.

Didn’t feel like paying £110 for 2 hours in the hot tub so can’t give a review on that but given the cleanliness of the rest of the hotel, you’d might want to give it a miss anyway.

I feel sorry for the girls who were working, we overheard the manager being bloody awful to them, really horrid bloke.

Location was good so people will probably book anyway but if you are reading before you book, go somewhere else, it is not worth it. At. All.

We made a late decision to get away for a long weekend, and the location of the hotel - we are oldies and use the bus services - was ideal for the three days we had planned.

There were also a few restaurants nearby for dinner which was handy.

I booked direct, got a good deal, and the owner kindly managed to get us a ground floor room.

The hotel has obviously been converted from one with no en suite facilities, as the shower room was tiny, and the bedroom, just about big enough.

The WiFi was poor, and we got a warning on the phone that it was “unsecure” so we were careful as to usage.

It is fair to say that we have had bigger breakfasts at hotels, but it was just about enough, the breakfast servers were friendly, too.

Rooms were not serviced. We had to ask for the cups to be washed and replaced, the bins were not emptied and we made our beds.

Parking is a nightmare. More rooms than spaces. At the weekend it would have been almost impossible to use get the car out of the car park, and if you did there would be no room to get it back in. Mind you, the website does make that clear.

That said, at just over £100 a night, it was reasonably priced considering Bournemouth prices in general. It does advertise as a 2 star hotel.

With a little more effort (more staff perhaps) this could easily be improved.

I really don't like put a negative reviews on tri advisor but I must this time.
We have booked one night stay in Bournemouth with a cancellation option a week before a trip and for the first time EVER we had to cancel the stay after that date . The decision was caused by the circumstances beyond our control and as soon as I could I've informed the hotel ( explained everything on my long message) 4 days before stay hoping they'll understand and still could be able to book a room for someone else and refund at least a part of our payment. However there was a dead quiet - no reaction to my messages, no one ever anwser the phone there ( I was trying at different days and diffrent times), when I requested the cancellation through booking.com I've receive a message that even them are not able to contact this hotel .
I didn't expect to get all the many back after missing free cancellation date but I was hoping I can get part of it back or at least an anwser from hotel . Never happed to me before that there was no answer for few days from any placed I've message with questions. It's not a peak time for a holiday so it's even more suprising no one come back to me at all . There was no problem with getting my money on the day they wanted but it was a problem to contact me... very unprofessional.
I cannot say anything about the hotel rooms, breakfast etc as I haven't been there but I can definetily say that if someone is expecting to stay in touch with this place before you'll go there you better choose different hotel to avoid disappointment

I made my booking through Booking.com and stayed here as I had tickets to a gig at Bournemouth Arena, great access for Bournemouth Centre - taxi service was simple, there was a button located in reception you pressed and a taxi turned up straight away!
The receptionist was welcoming, the room was dated but for one night it was simple and easily accessible. We didn't use the hot tub facilities as we were out in the evening but the setting was sweet.

Breakfast was included and we got that in the morning, simple fry up ( I was super hungover though so couldn't manage much!) Tea & coffee provided and waitresses were attentive.

Overall, pleasant.

I would stay at this hotel again mainly because of the location. Its quiet enough and very near to the town. The staff wasn't rude but not very friendly either. You pay £10 for parking which isn't informed prior to your stay, so be prepared to pay for it. Also its a small car park, so be prepared to either block others in or be blocked in.
The ambiance.... The carpet needs to get a good deep clean, in the lobby area. The room was snug, not enough windows in room 16 for the summer, but it wasn't an unbearable heat as it was a windy day. The bathroom was cleanish but i did a bit extra cleaning.
The breakfast... I don't like runny eggs, and they couldnt get it right, it wasn't well done enough, maybe they should consider doing scrambled eggs to be on the safe side. The cereal containers were dusty to the top, that was a turn off, but there was a wide variety. The juice glasses are kids size so i had to make a few trips for top ups. Like i said I would stay again probably, no guarantees, because of the location. It is a place to rest your head and get busy during the day.

The room was tiny, had an extra single bed in there taking up space, there was a rat or bird scratching in the ceiling which kept us awake all night. The shower didn't work unless you hung it to the floor. The wifi was practically non existent but that is to be expected in a big hotel. We booked the hot tub for 18:00 o'clock on the 27th was out of it by 18:15. The water was digusting and had grease and grime all around the tub from the water, which we didnt see at first as they turned the bubbles on before we got in it. Breakfast isnt until 9 o'clock which is quite late when you want to get out early (but can live with that) . The bacon was aneamic, the sausages were grissly. The hash brown was barely cooked and the coffee might as well been somebody's left overs. Had to pay £5 a day to leave the car in their own private carpark after having to pay £243 for 3 nights at the hotel. Not sure how you're rated even a 2 star to be fair.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry that your stay at the hotel did not meet your expectations. Our breakfast consists of a selection breakfast cereals and juices from the breakfast bar, followed by a full English breakfast included in the room rate so no one should go hungry. We have many compliments about our breakfast. Our sausages and bacon are locally sourced of high quality. I personally know the people who cut the bacon….. We do state in our terms parking is £5.00 per night (car) as this is also stated on booking.com. Next time when you’re visiting Bournemouth you should find alternative parking in the town centre at £20.00 per night. The hot tub is cleaned between each guest – you obviously did enjoy your one hour hot tub as you did not raise this with us and did not finish your session early. As a TWO STAR family friendly hotel we have had many complements about our quality rooms, cleanliness, excellent WIFI , great value for money, friendly staff and great location. There are plenty of FIVE STAR HOTELS in Bournemouth that meet your needs. In my booking system it shows you stayed for the full two nights. If you leave a review please make sure it is accurate and there is not much we can do about seagulls as it is a sea-side resort. I’m glad you enjoyed the location….
