Normally go abroad to visit theme parks but due to COVID-19 I opted to stay in England.
I saw this hotel advertised on Twitter and thought I’d give it a try.
Well I wasn’t disappointed I booked for the weekend of 16-18th October 2020 and was presented by a fabulous b&b and a very warm welcoming from John the owner/proprietor who showed me into the exceptionally clean and comfortable dining area before showing me to my equally beautiful room which was luxurious and modern styled. The bed was high quality and extremely comfortable.
All the meals were homemade and delicious and served expertly by Dave the superstar waiter who couldn’t do enough to make sure you had enough to eat and drink.
All in all I had a fantastic relaxing weekend and will definitely book again for 2021
I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone wanting a awesome break in England 11/10
Thanks John Dave and honey (the hotel resident dog) for a great time

Covid 19 has certainly drawn more people to stay in the UK and visit UK resprts for a change and we have been rally busy since re opening in July after 4 months closed. So glad you enjoyed your stay with us and maybe see you again one day. With a HIGE REPEAT BUSINESS and where customers return from all over the world year in and year out, we know we are offering something special and so good that you appreciated that. W ith an easier cancellation policy bcause of Covid 19, and where we show an interest in you and what you have been through under lockdown, we all need to get out there and meet new faces and make new friends AND BE EXTRA CAREFUL - SOCIAL DISTANCING and where we are Hamilton Hall spend lot of time extra deep cleaning and all touchable surfaces are cleaned and we really are doing more than we need to make sure everyone is as safe as possible. With a fun Diary of Events, offering more for men than any other venue in all of Europe, Hamilton Hall is here for you at all times to find friends as well as the right venue to refresh and recharge the mind, body and soul.

A lovely place to come and have a break away from, the madness. excelent food, i had dinner twice really well made and tasty and great portions, you can buy wine or beer to go with your meal. I also had cooked breakfast which is extra but well worth it. Continental breakfast plus is available and included in your room rate , hot drinks available all day, light snacks too. John and David make you welcome, chat and help you enjoy your stay. The room was spotless and comfy. Covid precautions are excelent, and please comply with Johns requests, which are there to make you feel safe.

Well what can I say apart from FAB U LOUS, from the minute I entered Hamilton Hall I was made to feel like an old friend. I was a little bit nervous before arriving but god knows why, i was greeted by John who despite what some say on here was an absolute gem, very friendly and welcoming. He explained where everything was and details regarding breakfast and dinner times.

I was shown to my room which was stunning very clean and the bed was so comfortable (room no 7 ) you can see where every effort is made to deliver a clean great comfortable room.

As it's a clothing optional place I was soon sat down in the tv lounge with 7 or 8 other naked guys ages ranging from mid 30s upwards.

It was also Eurovision on the Saturday night and John and his delightful assistant Gary made sure a goodnight was had by us all. We drank , laughed and laughed some more at the craziness of Eurovision. Afterwards we all made our own entertainment together which was very interesting but I will leave it at that.

To sum up Hamilton Hall is an amazing place run by a very dedicated man (John) who has put his heart and soul into creating this tranquil oasis in bournemouth. 21 years this place has been going to offer a place for the gay community and although abused by some its loved by most and from speaking to the guys over the weekend some come back time and time again

Keep up the great work John and Gary you are doing an amazing job.

I would get your bookings in early as rooms are in demand and once you arrive here you will see why. 10 out of 10.

Thanks for this wonderful review and as always, we do have a augh here. Eurovision nights have always been a scream here whether with karaoki and a show of our own, or watching it on telly, it is always guaranteed to be a comical evening. Now we have re opened after the longest time closed for Covid we are pleased to be welcoming so many familiar faces - many of whom have been coming here for decades - as we celebrated our 21st year open back in March 2021 and have gone from strength to strenmgth and despite thoise mean spirited people who do nothing but try and destroy because of envy, resentment or plain jealouse, we are still here, still busy, still offering more than any other men only hotel in the country and still the most talked about venue in the UK. Love it - or hate it - like Marmite, Hamilton Hall is an alternative truth centre, a self development retreat for mind, body and soul and some, periodically, cannot stand to look within and will pull apart anything that is a little different, and we just get on with our lives and ignore the ramblings of nutters, and we sure do get them occasionally. So thanks a lot for your kind words. Hope we shall see you again soon, maybe at one of our Christmas sing alongs... ha ha ( OMG its only June and I already mentioned Christmas... )

I emailed the owner of this hotel and asked how he would deal with the possibility of checking his own and staffs temperature as he has decided that due to covid he will checking guests on arrival and daily and in the event of one of those having a high temperature they will be asked to leave and pay £150 for a room to be deep cleaned which is totally OTT..

I only asked a simple question about what happens if he or a member of staff got a high temperature would he close and refund guests whobwre already there. The reply was full of abuse telling me I was an idiot and to f off elsewhere and full of other rubbish.

I would strongly recommend guys do not book this hotel as it is clearly run by a lunatic. How he can even advertise he is opening in July when hotels have not been given a date from the government is beyond me

I expect he will respond with the usual rubbish like in previous posts.

Clearly not everyone is having much fun while in lockdown and assume everyone else to be an idiot. Clearly this guy remonstrated - screaming at me down the phone - out of control abuse - because I wouldn't answer every one of his questions that are all answered on our web site and which I spent HUNDREDS of hours sorting though so my customers and staff would be protected and know exactly what we have in place. I DO NOT expect to tell every person - in person - everything we have in place for Covid 19 protection and especially when it is screamed and ranted at me like something posessed. It is easy for people to place negative reviews here but not so clear that we - as a business - we - as people - we - who serve the community and are now charging HALF PRICE as a gesture of good will and to help those who cannot afford a holiday after this lockdown, to still manage to get away and have a break - and then we get screamers, entitled people - who assume we are all here for them, screaming at me down the phone and I will NO WAY tollerate that and will tell you where to shove it. I am not here to be abused. I am not here to take your mental health. I am here offering a thing of beauty that clearly - some cannot get over and just want to cause trouble. I feel sorry for this man, Clearly not a happy bunny and one of the frst to be banned from Hamilton Hall in a very VERY long time and a sone of the first since lockdopwn was eased, is clear he was not happy in lockdown that he can now so abuse others in this manner. Disgraceful.

I spent a lovely weekend at Hamilton Hall. John is a great host and very engaging person. It felt like I had some to stay with a really good friend who literally opened up his kitchen and house for me to stay in and spend some time with either at Breakfast and Dinner time. The cooked breakfast and dinner I had were both delicious and served wonderfully. John is a great guy to talk to about anything, I had very deep conversations with him about life , religion and spirituality.

The decor in Hamilton Hall is stylish and my bed was as soft as a cloud. I had such a restful sleep, the beds and hospitality alone are worth staying here for any Gay man. I am planning on returning when John organises tantra and other events. Cost effective prices for 2 nights with all the free snacks, tea and refreshments (alcohol to buy but very reasonable) and worth each penny.

Thank you John and Gary x

This hotel is unusual in that it's for men only, which is the reason I went for three days in August. I was warmly greeted personally on arrival by the management and immediately felt welcome. The room I was in was clean, reasonably spacious, with all the necessary facilities, and was certainly excellent value for money. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well on all three nights without disturbance, despite having the window open. The accommodation was for bed and breakfast, but dinner was available for a small extra fee, and turned out to be a convivial occasion every time, with the owner and staff joining the guests for some excellent food, wine and conversation.
Hamilton Hall is within easy walking distance of the multitude of shops at Boscombe, and Bournemouth itself can easily be accessed on foot (40 minutes), by bike (hire is available locally) or on the frequent and well-patronised buses.
There is a small but sheltered and un-overlooked garden at the side - good for some sunning when the weather is appropriate.
Excellent accommodation in all respects, and I can unreservedly recommend it to all who are interested.

I was looking around the internet for a week away on my own as I needed a break. I came across Hamilton Hall and, despite some of the reviews on here, I took the plunge and booked for the full week. I'm so glad I did.

I had a single room to start with which was very comfortable with ensuite facilities. Unfortunately the heating wasn't working (these things happen) but this was dealt with in a timely and professional manner by John (owner) , and it was no problem for me to be moved to a much larger room.

Breakfast was good with plenty of cereals, yogurts, tea's and coffee's to choose from. Evening meals were good and the communal feel to meals times adds to the warm and welcoming ambience of Hamilton Hall.

An added bonus was listening to John's funny and amusing anecdotes about his time in London and beyond.

I look forward to my next stay.

Thanks for another great review. With a pandemic raging and venues closing forever after taking government monies to stay open, we are here, we are open if and when allowed and we shall struggle through as best we can. Receiving financial donations from guests has been a wonderful surprise to help and assist us stay open is heartwarming. Hamilton Hall advertises a venue with a soul, and during the pandemic, we have definitely gone out of our way with our new weekly Blog / Newsletter in helping thousands keep in touch and stay fresh. I have been coming to Hamilton Hall for more than 17 years. It’s my second home. John is unique. Some don’t fit in with his uniqueness. By his own admission he can have his Basil Fawlty moments. But like other guests I’ve met and befriended over the many years I accept HH for what it is. If your a snowflake you won’t fit in. If you think it’s going to be a bevy of sexy people you probably will be disappointed. If you want homely accommodation which is great value and all that the beaches and resorts of Bournemouth offer you will love it. As for the idiots who sent that email . They e clearly got too much time on their hands and a bitter intent

Thanks Steve. Always a delight. You are correct about Snowflakes - People who feel ' Entitled' and those who simply ‘Demand’ - will get absolutely nowhere with me and they really can ' sling their hook.' Sadly the LGBT populace ( I am loath to use the word 'community' ) has more than its fair share and they are loud and they are vocal and they ruin it for everyone else. They do not build - they destroy. They do not run business's for and on behalf of fellow LGBT -- they close others down. They do not support at all while screaming how good they are, how much they do for others - what good people they are and it is ALL ego driven counterproductive ' attitude ' - and it really is ALL about them. It is very rare someone gets past my booking stage with attitude as if they give ME attitude - then I don't want them here as they would ruin it for others who come for the delights of Hamilton Hall, its BEAUTIFUL small garden, the fact we are CLOTHING OPTIONAL, and the MARMITE OWNER, who is the heart and soul of this venue and I am no fool to know is the reason many return, for the intimate, personal, madness, fun and laughter we share - and not ‘JUST ANOTHER HOTEL ROOM ‘ and this is what sets us apart from all the other cold and heartless venues with no personality or friendship. When people leave negative reviews here – it DOES NOT ruin my business, in fact – I get people booking because they love how I respond. How I don’t stand for bad behaviour and how I offer a safe and supportive environment – a sanctuary – and many – like Steve – return year after year and is why we are still here after 22 years and with no plans of going anywhere.

A very warm welcome from John the host. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the breakfasts and dinner which were home cooked were superb. The atmosphere is very much relaxed home from home and guests are encouraged to mix and socialise together. Clothing optional also added an extra relaxing dimension. Plenty of tea, coffee, snacks (as well as alcoholic beverages for a small extra charge) were available for you to help yourself. All in all I very much enjoyed my stay and would certainly come back again especially when there is an organised event.

Back here again at Hamiltin Hall, Why would you want to go anywhere else. Hamilton Hall is perfect for you to just chill with like minded guys and enjoy beautiful Bournemouth. I was in room 3 it was stunning and I was amazed at the size of the room. Breakfast was included ( Continental) although a cooked breakfast is offered for a reasonable price, I was wonderfully looked after by the delightful Woody. John as always was a delight with his wonderful tales. Dinner was beautiful all home cooked and only £20 Inc desert & Wine "Bargain".

On Saturday night we all chilled in the lounge and chinked a few glasses of wine and John & Woody provided a wonderful Karoke night where we all sang along , laughed and joked. It was wonderful. Another Amazing stay and I'm back for Christmas so can not wait. If you can get booked in for Christmas then do it, it's wonderful.

Thanks John & Woody see you in 5 weeks.

It rather depends on yourself. Ageism is a bad thing and you had to ask ? You seem to have worries concerning communicating with others as age has nothing to do with it. Everyone is welcome - every age, even at 30.

Hi if you check Hamilton Hall’s website am sure it does state rules about that and when you arrive in your room their folders for each room definitely do so. I definitely remember reading that in the information folder in our room. Failing that just call them and ask.
