The Green House is a case of all style and little substance. We paid £220 a night for a room which was noisy and uncomfortable as it seemed to be above the kitchen. Our complaints were slightly resolved in that we were moved to a quieter room and our food bill deducted. But this wasn’t really enough. We probably should have left after the first night but the hotel wouldn't refund our bill. Service in the hotel was attentive and friendly, but our overall experience was one of disappointment and feeling ripped off. There must be better places in Bournemouth.
My fiancé and I have been here on a few occasions and always loved it, we usually go away for Birthdays but due to COVID we wanted to support our local hotel, The Green House, and so stayed here for the night of my birthday. Despite the COVID measures in place our experience was very comfortable and we felt safe, temperatures checked on arrival, face masks / shields worn by all staff, sanitiser whenever you needed it etc. Staff are always friendly and attentive (despite having to follow the odd measures at the moment). The room was a nice size, comfy with a plush bed and a lovely size shower in the bathroom. Tea and coffee available in the room including biscuits and fresh milk provided by reception too. A nice Birthday card and little treat to say Happy Birthday as well. The Green House is a must hotel in Bournemouth.…
We have stayed here many times before and this time, we were is a small double bedded room, although clean and tidy, this type of room is very small!! As we were in times of COVID, they were being vigilant there. Most of the time we felt safe, with the social distancing, and protocols, however despite this, some of the staff were wearing protective face shields, they were not all wearing masks. We asked to speak to the manager about this, and we were told she would contact us.. this did not happen. We were also slightly surprised that we did not have our temperature checked on check in or any other time, having being reassured when we booked this would happen. This part was disappointing. However, both breakfast and dinner were delicious and excellent and the service in the restaurant very good as usual.…
We were looking for a hotel that did a 6 night bed, breakfast and dinner package. We decided on this one out of the five available in the area, so pleased that we did! The room we chose was a standard double which we found very nice. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept really well. There were lots of thoughtful touches in the room which were much appreciated. Anything that needed replenishing could be left outside your door and would be replaced by the time you returned in the evening. The cookies were a lovely touch! The bathroom was well appointed with lovely toiletries, gorgeous thick towels and a very nice shower. We did find the floor of the shower quite slippery but after asking at Reception they provided us with a shower mat which solved the problem. Both breakfast and dinner was served in the Arbor restaurant. We found the food to be absolutely delicious. The presentation was of a very high standard and we can honestly say we thoroughly enjoyed every meal. Big thanks to the chef and the team for working so hard with the food preparation and service. After dinner we would go into the bar for a drink which was very pleasant. The staff in this hotel are definitely it's biggest asset. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We really appreciated how hard they worked to make our stay a lovely one. We would definitely recommend a visit and look forward to returning. …
Just come back from a lovely stay at The Green House Hotel in Bournemouth and we cannot recommend this hotel enough. From the polite and warm staff to the ambience of the hotel, the wonderful bedrooms with beautiful thick white towels, we cannot fault this hotel. We enjoyed breakfast, afternoon tea and a three course meal all served in the Arbor restaurant and the quality of the ingredients is obvious to all plus the outstanding capability of the chef to create delicious tasting meals. Their adherence to the Covid rules was well observed and managed well in the current circumstances as it still felt like a relaxed and comfortable environment. The hotel is well positioned with a gentle 10 minute stroll to the beach or shops. A special thank you to all the staff who make this hotel that extra bit special. Nice touch with the birthday card and fudge left in the room too. …
