I have occasion to visit the Mayfair quite often, for Coffee, lunches and I organise a Coffee Morning. I find the staff (Carole in particular) extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel has a very welcoming atmosphere and they bend over backwards to make your dining experience good. I personally have never stayed in the hotel but...

Newly decorated, in 70s/80s style, giving a cheerful appearance to the inside. Lovely staff; very welcoming on reception. All serving staff were excellent; efficient, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. They accepted my appearance with my own cafetiere of coffee with aplomb. Food excellent; coffee was abysmal, hence the cafetiere. Bedrooms and bathroom spotlessly clean if a little dated....

We stayed here as part of a Scottish country dancing weekend workshop. Access and parking were easy and the seafront is just ten minutes walk away- or even quicker from the bus stop outside. The hotel has been nicely redecorated and our room was clean, the bed comfortable and there was plenty of storage space. The bathroom had a bathtub/shower...

We contacted Tracey at The Mayfair in October to arrange a December Wedding. Tracey was very obliging and got everything organised very quickly. The big day went without a hitch, everything important went like a dream, the room and tables looked amazing. The food for 51 guests was of a very high standard, many of our guests complimented this. The...

Rooms very very tired and small. Staff very helpful but definately not worth the price we paid. Room so small myself and partner could not move around the bed at the same time. Tea stains on the walls in the bedroom. bathroom was clean but nowhere to put anything. Won't be returning.

The downstairs rooms are very nice, lounge bar, ballroom, dining room all nice. There is a TINY lift which only goes to the 2nd floor. Our room was on 3rd floor up steep flight of stairs. The room itself was dated, old and tired with a tiny tv screen which we could hardly see when sitting in bed. However the...

Recently had a works christmas do at the hotel and I stayed over the night. While initially the bars seemed a little understaffed and stock not in place meaning quite a few waits for drinks or bottles of Prosecco! However that seemed to get better as the night went on (probably seemed quicker with drink! Ha) Room was as expected...
