Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Ashleigh is home from home. Lucy is amazing and nothing is too much for her. The atmosphere at the Ashleigh is one of warmth and genuine hospitality. Lucy totally spoilt our dog with love and gifts. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with all the creature comforts and more. We cannot wait to do a return visit. Steve and Carinne

Lovely welcome, very clean and nice quiet location but close enough to be in the hustle and bustle if you want. Lots of nice touches with the bath robes and slippers. We will definitely return in the near future.

Fantastic hotel. Will definitely stay again. Super friendly, warm welcome. Perfect for a weekend break. SO dog friendly. Really made us feel at ease with our extra large Labrador. Treats, waterbowls, poo bags, and a small toy provided. Really fine, delicate touches that made such a big difference. Thankyou again!!

Great stay, lovely b&b and so accommodating to dogs. Room was lovely, owner was super helpful and accommodating. All dogs get a welcome pack with treats for them 😊 I was mainly at the beach which was about a half an hour walk but there’s free parking everywhere do drove, but it was walkable.

We came here for three nights with our dog and had a lovely stay. The room was well-equipped and had some lovely touches. The dog gifts were very much appreciated. Lucy was very welcoming. We would definitely want to return again. The location was perfect for us, as we enjoy a walk. The pier is 25 minutes walk (1 mile) which we enjoyed. There are lots of dog friendly eateries and places nearby.

We’re so sorry that we haven’t posted this sooner! Life seemed to get in the way however we knew we couldn’t go without posting about our incredible stay at The Ashleigh. Our trip started in a rather eventful fashion with our car breaking down on a gridlocked M3 over Easter bank holiday. We had to Uber the final hour of the journey so we arrived a little stressed and deflated however this didn’t last long when we were greeted by the most wonderful host, Lucy. She couldn’t do enough to help us feel settled including looking after our baggage on the final day after checkout while we waited for our family to rescue us! The accommodation was incredibly clean and beautifully decorated and all the amenities had been carefully thought out and really went above and beyond. We did have our small rescue dog in tow and we had been nervous about how he would cope in a new environment but we didn’t need to worry, everything had been thought out carefully to cater for dog owners and dog free guests. We will certainly be back in the future, however perhaps via train!
