The rooms are very dated and in need of a serious upgrade. The bar and so called staff that run it are a joke. The bar should be open at 3.30 on a Sunday afternoon.but when the bar person decided to turn up, it was 4.20. And the kitchen open at 5ish! !and when it did 5.30 the food was very mediocre at best. Bournemouth is a nice town, this hotel doesn't deserve to be in it.

With the exception of the receptionists and breakfast waiter who were friendly and efficient the rest of the staff were useless. Arrived for dinner and the restaurant appeared to be deserted no advice on where to sit or how the system worked. Bar staff sat on stool apparently disinterested in offering any sort of customer service Absolutely terrible

The Reception staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Lots of choose in the restaurant and everyone enjoyed the food. Our deal was two drinks for price of one and staff were working hard to deliver a great service with a smile. We were with a coach Just Go and each night within the hotel a different singer provided entertainment. Everyone on coach was highly delighted with hotel. Thank you so much Mark and Debbie

Last visited the Carrington ten years ago - sad to say we can't recall all the details. However, this visit with Just Go! Holidays was very memorable - we had a marvelous stay at the Carrington - a lovely warm, clean, spacious room an the ground floor as we had requested . The meals (breakfast and evening) where superb - loads of variety, professionally cooked and presented using a buffet style servery. The restaurant, housekeeping, bar and reception staff all worked extremely hard to ensure our stay was really enjoyable. We had nightly entertainment - two hours of first rate performance each evening. We would not hesitate returning to the Carrington again - we enjoyed every minute of our stay!

The worst hotel ever. I had arrived at the hotel and unfortunately forgot my ID. I had a picture of both my ID and passport but the guy at the front desk said ‘nope no chance mate’. I had travelled 90 miles from where I live to stay for 2 days due to my work. They would not let me in and did nothing to help rectify the issue. Even though I showed a full valid confirmation email. Worst customer service. Shocking hotel. DO NOT BOOK

I have stayed at the hotel a number of times. It’s a little outdated, but always clean & very smart, the staff have always been very good, friendly and helpful. So it’s a perfect little budget hotel and has always met my needs and been a positive stay. However what I experienced last night during my stay was absolutely unacceptable. My booking was a double room for 2 adults. Me & my friend arrived at the property, after completing the booking process/payment we set off to our room. Unfortunately though after 10 minutes of both trying neither key cards given would work & we couldn’t get into our room. So I headed back to reception where I reported the issue. The cards were reset but during this process I’d been left feeling as if I was stupid as the members of staff appeared to find it comicable, as they looked at me & started laughing as soon as I was approaching the desk and until I left again. When finally getting into the room we were hit with what felt like an open fire the room was that hot. Attempted to turn the radiator down and open the tiny a4 window but it didn’t seem to help. We’d only been there less than 10 minutes & due to an emergency my friend had to leave. So I was feeling pretty sad sat on my own. I left my room to go outside for a cigarette. The walk from my room to outside I had my headphones on & mumbling along to some music. While I was in the smoking area I noticed the same male who had unlocked the entrance door to let me out was now outside and in my opinion his behaviour was very strange & while still standing close to the entrance, straight away I could see him keep watching/staring at me which began to make me feel very uncomfortable. But I thought I’d try to ignore it & after speaking to another friend, they soo kindly & it being so last minute didn’t want me to be on my own, so they jumped straight into a taxi to come and cheer me up.the taxi arrived and we started to make our way back into the hotel. It’s at this point the same male member of staff began to be soo rude & said my friend wasn’t coming in. He said this was hotel policy, which may be correct however I can’t find documented anywhere under your policy’s information. I tried to explain to him and another gentleman what had happened, that my guest had, had to leave and infact they’d just come to cheer me up, would probably only be with for half an hour. The man at the door continued to become more & more rude & disrespectful and was now pushing the door against my friend who hadn’t tried to come back in and wasn’t necessarily. I then spoke to the other member of staff behind the desk and offered to pay for another room if it was necessary for my friend to come in, during all of this conversation the other male expressed that I wasn’t doing that, they weren’t coming in and furthermore went on to say well she won’t be in here still any longer than 30 minutes because I was too loud & at one point started approaching towards me from behind all the while still continuing be rude and speak to me like absolute rubbish & I believe had I not at this point moved away from him and the desk I have no doubts that he would of physically attempted to make me also leave. I have never experienced such disrespect, unprofessional and unacceptable behaviour from anyone. Therefore I made the decision to get all my belongings from my room and leave the hotel or I would of spent the whole night awake thinking this man was just going to come to my door at any time making false accusations and keep intimidating me to leave. As stated at the beginning of my review I’ve always had a fairly positive experience here it’s most certainly not been without it’s flaws. I’ve witnessed a gentleman really kicking off outside trying to get into the hotel because he’d given a women £50 in exchange for a sexual act but she’d infact taken his money & then ran back into the hotel. Multiple occasions of obvious drug taking & being used inside & outside premises by guests. Prolific & constantly rooms being used by prostitutes who ironically you’d hear 15/20+ different visitors Trip typeHoliday · Friends Rooms1.0Service1.0Location3.0 Hotel highlightsGreat value Noteworthy detailsI think everything I have said already is more than enough to swallow unfortunately. If I could I’d be giving it a -10 stars review

For a budget hotel I think it is really good value. Off season stay for one night was relatively cheap. Stayed in the same room we have previously had which was a family room with 3 singles and a double. Beds all comfy enough, room recently updated with paint, new bathroom and new furniture. The hotel is still tired but generally speaking no complaints. Major plus is that it has a swimming pool, we were the only ones in there and the kids loved it. The buffet breakfast was standard and no complaints other than lack of staff so some items got low quickly but hardly cause for complaint. Feel that for the money, location and the fact there is parking in car park or on street this was really good value.
