Standard hotel, did exactly what we wanted which was a base in Bournemouth. All staff that we experienced were friendly and pleasant. Tv was smaller than we were used to but room was a good size and well presented. Would definitely return as location and price point were spot on

Beautifully situated traditional hotel on the cliff top with own parking. Reception staff were very welcoming and informative. The seaview cottage room was very spacious and well presented, with large bathroom and very nicely positioned writing desk at the window. Only a very partial seaview however, as the end cottage is up against what appears to be an old gym and looks across the open air pool, currently closed. Gave a bit of the old seaside town in the winter vibe! Ubiquitous breakfast buffet, but excellent choice of hot and cold, egg dishes cooked to order, and bread and pastries were fresh. Also good service from the staff.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and to be honest, probably will again because of its location. However, on this occasion this was a treat for my husband's 70th birthday and had booked three rooms for two nights so we could celebrate with close friends. I was keen to make sure he had a memorable time. It WAS memorable, in that he said his breakfast was the worst he had ever had. The plates were stone cold so his fried egg was congealed on his plate and all the rest of his food. The experience of our friends who had cooked breakfast was the same. I brought this to the attention of the manager on duty who just said that we would have a word with the kitchen staff. On the second morning, there was exactly the same issue. The couple on the next table (who we didn't know) also complained that the cooked breakfast was cold and asked for a second (hot) breakfast. I again brought this to the attention of one of the staff at the restaurant desk, who was very defensive. No apology or attempt to rectify this. The breakfast isn't cheap - the whole stay was in excess of £1000 so I think this was a very poor response to a legitimate concern.

Always worrying reading bad reviews so here's a good honest one, a nice welcome in a stylish reception, yes our deluxe double room did mean walking outside briefly to the other block but our room was a wow! Fridge, hairdryer all in room, water in fridge, even flannels in the bathroom saved taking a wet one home! even had a side sea view, we came down to see Simple Minds at the BIC which is a walk down the hill, feels perfectly safe at night! Can't comment on food as we didn't eat here but our room was quiet no road noise or disturbance from other rooms! We will definitely come back, we stayed in room 236 just lovely!

The hotel located by the beach and has a good view of the sea and staff are helpful and friendly however this where good things end carpet are very run down and dirty and the property is old and creaking. I stayed in cottage room hoping that a premium room will be nicer but the condition of room is very run down . It is spacious but feels like it needs serious maintenance , I would have expected something much better from Marriot brand !!!

Gokul, the chef doing the breakfast omelettes, is absolutely fantastic. So approachable and accommodating. He makes fantastic omelettes and went out of his way to give us an excellent experience. He is an asset to the hotel. Most of the other staff were good as well.

After a long journey down we arrived at the hotel to find that unfortunatly the free street parking outside was full so had to use the hotel car park. No issues with the car park apart from the price (£12 per day) but it's on par or cheaper than a lot of car parks in Bournemouth. Checked in and were told we'd been allocated one of the cottages. First thought was hope it's not going to be cold in there after all it is February. Luckily once we turned the radiators up it wasn't. The cottages are quite spacious with two double beds and are great for families with chidren. Espcially in summer as you can go out the patio door across the grass to the outside pool. It was quite dull when we arrived and the lighting in the cottages does leave a lot to be desired so we didn't really pay that much attention to the decor. The next morning was bright and sunny and we soon noticed a stain down the ceiling and wall in one corner where it looked as though someone had thrown food. In addition a thick layer of dust on the small table and black fingerprints above the handle on the bathroom door were also apparent. On going out for the day I mentioned the stain down the wall to Reception who advised that they would have Housekeeping look at it. If they did nothing was done as it was still there when we returned which I found a bit disappointing. The next morning I went to take a shower only to find there was no hot water. Not sure why it had been fine the previous evening. On checking out I mentioned this to Reception who just said "oh wow!". Not quite the response I was expecting. Maybe a "I'm very sorry I'll get someone to look into that" would have been better. Depite these little issues I really liked the hotel and would definitely return. It's ideally situated with some fantastic views and the Staff were all very friendly and welcoming

Lovely stay, staff were so helpful with booking a disabled parking space in advance and upon arrival we were unexpectedly upgraded to the most beautiful sea view room - thank you so very much this made the trip for us! One issue we did have was that in the morning we discovered our car had a completely flat tyre, so we had to call the AA out to assist us. However, they were going to be a while so, due to my disability, I enquired at reception if it would be possible for us to stay in our room just a while longer, until the AA Patrol arrived - the weather was blustery and raining so not an option to head to The Pier sadly - but I was told that this was not possible. Such a shame. Thank you for the upgrade though, much appreciated!

Such a fantastic hotel! The outside facade looks a bit tired and could do with a bit of tlc, but once you get inside the hotel all that goes away. The inside of the hotel is truly luxurious, lovely carpets throughout, good quality fixtures and furniture, I particularly liked the essence which was being pumped around the hotel, even in the lifts! The staff were really attentive, friendly and helpful. The room was excellent, felt very luxurious and the bathroom was exceptional. We had panoramic views of the beach from our room on the fourth floor. We had food in the evening and breakfast in the morning at the Brasserie Blanc and both meals were great. I would definitely stay again.
