Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Me and my fiancé stayed in The Connought Lodge this past weekend. Pros- Extremely clean in the rooms and common areas. Excellent spa facilities. We both used the spa facilities more than once and also each had a treatment. Friendly and helpful staff. We requested a late checkout at around 9.30 the morning of check out and the reception staff were very accommodating and were able to sort this out for us at a very reasonable price. Great idea to have a WhatsApp number you can message for anything you need and received very quick responses too. Cons- Common areas/ hallways of The Connought Lodge are abit outdated and could do with a referb to look as great as the main house reception area. Each time the water was turned on in the hotel room, either tap or shower it made a loud mechanical whirring noise that was abit annoying. The steam room in the spa was definitely not at the correct temperature (it was not hot enough). We did not use the restaurant or car park so cannot comment on these. Overall even with the couple of cons we would still rate this hotel highly and would definitely stay again.

Room 227 Lovely room overlooking the garden, quite. Double bed and pillows a bit soft for us, it would be nice to select an option for hard or soft beds?? Bath room is gorgeous, would love ours to be like that at home. You can use the pool and spa, which was lovely, and pop over for your gorgeous breakfast in the morning. Parking great, we didn't need to use the car in the 2 days stay, due to the location, you literally was down the road and your at the sea. We ate at the Durley Harvester, the first night, which was lovely. Second night we went into the town. Regularly stay in Bournemouth, we love it, if we could afford it we would buy something here, but the conaught is the best we have stayed in so far.

We stayed here to attend a family wedding nearby and the check in was lovely and smooth and the lady on reception was very helpful and friendly. We got to our room which was lovely and clean but red hot we saw the air conditioner unit and tried to put it in but it only started on for about 5mins then switched of, my husband is an air conditioner engineer so he knew what he was doing, or son in the next room said his was the same, so we just kept the windows open instead. After having a shower I realized there was no mirror except the one in the bathroom which was now all steamy and hot, not the best place for doing make up, then discovered a full length mirror on the back of the wardrobe door, this however, didn't open fully due to the hard pelmet about the window. Apart from these 2 things our stay was lovely.

A stay in the lodge is a great alternative if there is no room in the hotel itself. The rooms are very sizable and include all the amenities you would expect, including tea, coffee, a bath/shower and even access to the hotel spa and swimming pool. Parking is limited and if you have an electric vehicle you will need to book in advance for the charger. If you book direct parking is free, otherwise it is £8 a night. Breakfast, if you choose to pay, is fantastic. There is a lot of choice and loads of room to choose where you would like to sit. I’d definitely recommend including it for your stay. I’d also like to say a big thank you to the staff who were so friendly and helpful.

Very last minute booking, cause the weather was blooming amazing! First thing-check in was speedy. Lovely friendly staff Room was ok - think house keeping may have missed a few spots, but it wasn’t a bio hazard, so not the end of the world. Room was really big, no view and light is blocked out by massive tree. Bed was super comfy - only thing letting it down was that there was 2 beds pushed together so there was a dip in the middle ( and that was not my husband😂😂) Car park was heaving and after paying for a space there was none, but the lovely lady at receptionist moved a bollard for us to park. Breakfast was wonderful, sat in the courtyard in the sun. Fabulous service. And a nice choice for us vegans. Location is great for the front. Overall I would thoroughly recommend.

Filthy dirty when I walked in the room within the first 5 seconds saw how awful it was. Rooms Looks nothing like the lodge photos advertised. Really disappointed. I now feel like the whole room is filthy and I have no option to go anywhere else because everything is already booked. I came away for a stress free week and this has made me really sad.

Being a travel agent, i find gems and boy we definately found a lovely place at connaught lodge. Lift served. Clean facilities, breakfast was lovely. No problem to ask for well done eggs. We was able to eat inside and outside. Staff polite. We didnt use the bar. Need to fix steam room so that it is hot. We did use jacuuzi and sauna wow, relaaaaaxing. Parking was a good price. Please note that wgen you check out at 11am you need to remove car from offsite by 1pm. For a bank holiday i got a great price. Please also note that there is always wedding receptions going on and some doors are locked, meaning you have to walk long way round especially if they using the garden. This is not good if you have mobility issues. The best bit is the whatsapp service. #thankyou
