Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed two/three times - great people - it's the only place we have ever had to pay up front as soon as we arrived unusual? ( perhaps it's us) do not stay in the top attic room it's unbearable in the summer - no air! We were moved the next day - we understand its now up for sale

We stayed at this hotel last weekend for two nights . Really enjoyed our stay . We stayed in room 8 . Lovely room , spotlessly clean , most comfortable bed I have ever slep in whilst away . Beautifully decorated from top to bottom . The owners are very warm and welcoming . Breakfast was lovely . Would stay again at the drop of a hat . Tip for anyone considering booking , apparently if you book direct you automatically get an upgraded room with discount . We didn't book direct but should we return another year ( I hope we do ) I would definitely book direct , would be interesting to see what the upgraded rooms are like . Many thanks for our stay and for looking after us so well .

We reserved all 10 rooms of the hotel for my wedding party and everyone was highly impressed. We all felt at home and comfortable. A beautiful hotel set in a good location and decorated to a very high standard. There was a variety of breakfast options available, all of which was good quality. A huge thanks to Dexter and Otilia who were fantastic hosts and incredibly accommodating. I would absolutely recommend!

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel and absolutely loved it. Only 10 rooms means the hotel is very boutique. It is excellently finished and the service second to none. The Dorset breakfast is a delicious treat which we enjoyed each day Definitely recommend for a nice quiet break in Bournemouth. On site parking and inclusive wifi are great too. Only 5 mins walk to boscombe beach and pier is a nice treat too

We stayed two nights over a weekend in this hotel. When we turned into the car park my first reaction was that it was small - it took a moment to consider that the hotel has only ten rooms, and the car park was in fact just about the optimum size. The next thing that struck me, on the walk to the reception, was the beautiful ornamental garden, only small, but very considerately laid out, and well maintained. When we checked in we were given a choice of rooms (although they are reserved the final choice is given by Dexter upon arrival). The hotel is very well renovated with good size rooms, and the surprise was that the bathroom was as good as one could get in a modern hotel. We only stayed a couple of nights but that gave two opportunities to sample the breakfast, served in a welcoming dining room. The Dorset breakfast proved irresistible to me, with the sources of the individual elements described on the menu, although there was far more choice than simply that. Dexter and Atilia were very attentive hosts, and the staff at breakfast matched their vision of how guests are to be treated. All in all a thoroughly pleasant, and relaxing stay, with nothing to fault, and I would be happy to recommend this hotel to friends, and to stay here again.

Stunning hotel which has been beautifully renovated by the owners. Fabulous quality throughout the hotel even down to the complimentary toiletries. Can honestly say I could not find a single fault at this hotel and I am a difficult one to please! Dexter & Otilia were warm friendly and helpful throughout our stay and supply one of the nicest breakfasts we have had at a hotel. The only thing I can say about this hotel is book it you will not be disappointed with your stay here. And to top it off a great location as away from the hustle of Bournemouth but only a 30 minute walk into the town along the promenade. Will definitely return.

WOW.....I want to start by saying I have to be one of the hardest customers to impress when it comes to hotels. I am used to staying in 5 star hotels and only tend to stay in brands I know. After reading reviews on trip advisor I took a gamble with this place and had to give it a go! As soon as you drive into the private driveway you are surrounded by beautiful gardens and a wonderful building. Private parking on the grounds of the hotel and no more than a 10 second walk to the front door which of course is handy when handling luggage. Me and my partner were then greeted by the owners of the hotel Dexter & Otilia Bree and I have to say if only every hotel put this much enthusiasm and effort into greeting. It was a wonderful feeling of being welcomed and like some of the reviews on here state its like being welcomed into their home rather than their hotel. The building was so nice and very well restored, the lobby, library, bar and drawing room were very fresh and very fashionable. We were then taken into our room on the top floor, room no 8. The walk to the room was refreshing as we walked around this building and went up the stairs, it already felt like a home from home rather than the fact we were checking into a hotel. Me and my partner were both blown away by the room and how spacious it was. I had a good feeling about this place and knew it would be good but I have to say I was blown away by what it actually was. The room was so fresh, new, big, comfortable, clean and very well decorated. There was a living area with a lovely view, a built in wardrobe and the bathroom was amazing. I have to say guys I have stayed in many many expensive hotels and this place would give them all a run for its money. The attention to detail was perfect! From every aspect, bath towels to toiletries, extra pillows to fresh bottled water all as standard in the rooms. The location is perfect as me and my partner walked everywhere and were guided to all the good spots by the owners and were not disappointed. To sum it up, as good as the hotel is I think it was even better because of the hospitality provided by the owners. This is clearly a couple who don't do this as a business but do this because they love it and are very good at it! I spent many hours in the bar in my weekend here and it was delightful. The bar is exclusive to the residents and not open to the public which for me was a massive plus! The owner Dexter was very patient with me and happy to serve me at any time and I have to say was also very entertaining and good company over a beer. I want to finish by mentioning breakfast! Again I was absolutely blown away, the breakfast is cooked fresh to your order unlike most hotels! The service was once again fantastic, the waitress was so nice and attentive. Never at one point did we need to ask for anything, she would constantly come over and ensure we had everything we wanted and more and it was the same every morning at breakfast. The owners have done a fantastic job here and should be very proud! I have to say this is my first ever trip advisor review as I was literally blown away I had to share my experience. This is the only place to stay in Bournemouth if they are not fully booked! I can honestly say I would have been happy to pay double the price for the room and service!
