Spent 3 nights here, had a lovely time. The hotel is quite reasonable priced and is almost faultless. The hotel is really close to the beach (5 mins) and pretty close to the town centre/restaurants (~ 10 mins), so great location. The hotel has a real cozy feel to it, filled with lots of wonderful antique photos/pictures/mirrors/ornaments. It's very welcoming and homely. Did not have any problems with noise from other properties, or from other rooms within the hotel which is always nice. The room and ensuite were very clean and well presented. Towels being provided was good, plenty of towels for showing and drying hands separately. The room was a good size, plenty of space to walk around the bed, relax, and get on with life. The kettle and cups were great, the kettle is small enough to fill up in the sink, but large enough to make 2 nice size hot drinks. The owner was such a lovely, happy, caring man. Happily chatted to us about the area, things to do/see, history of the hotel and some of the city. The cooked breakfast was a brilliant way to start the day, you walk down the stairs to the dining room for breakfast and you walked to your pre-allocated table with your room number on it. The cooked breakfast consisted of: 2 rashers of bacon, a sausage, a fried egg, a hash brown, cooked baked beans, and a cooked salad tomato. This came with toast of your choice (white or brown bread) if you wanted. Also given with breakfast was tea/coffee, and a glass of refreshing orange juice. There was better and jam/marmalade in individually sealed tubs to go with the toast which was a really nice addition. There was the option for cereal instead and there was a variety of cereals to choose from. We hadn't even been sat down 5 minutes and were already being served with our cooked breakfast. It was good, very hot and properly cooked, with the plates being lovely and hot too. The only small issue I found with the hotel was the wifi, but it's to be expected in a property with so many floors. We stayed on the third floor and the wifi worked in most of the room, the only place I couldn't get the wifi to work was on the side of the bed near the window (furthest place from the front of the hotel). So honestly, not a big issue. Pretty faultless hotel, and staying experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for someone to stay in Bournemouth!

Had a super weekend staying at this hotel. Owners so very helpful and friendly. Spotlessly clean room with tea/coffee making facilities and nice and warm too as was a super cold weekend. Super breakfast, vegetarian breakfast was yummy. Great location for the town, just a few minutes walk. Only downside no parking but we managed to park further down the road. Definitely would recommend staying here.

They will take your booking then cancel it due to covid restrictions being lifted as they want the higher price. BE WARNED. We booked in march for August 2021..They have cancelled our booking and made different excuses for it. Then to receive the abuse from the so called manager/owner ..JUST PLAIN RUDE ! AGAIN AVOID AT ALL COSTS !

Dear Sir, covid restrictions for accommodation providers were lifted on 17th May 2021.on 24th June 2021 NOT March 2021 you made a reservation for 2 rooms. In line with our terms and conditions your secured your room vis Booking.com with a credit card. When we tried to pre authorise your deposit the transaction came back as NO DATA MATCH.We immediately at 11:49am on Wednesday 21st July informed you via your booking.com account that we could not procede with your deposit because the data you had given did not match the credit card you had used, Booking.com also sent you a message stating that your details had to be updated within 24 hours or the booking would be cancelled.26 hours later you still had not updated your details so the booking was cancelled.Because we have not increased prices like other accommdation providers due to increased demand the room was rebooked within 30 minutes. So once again the room was cancelled following booking.com policies that if an invalid credit or debit card is used then you have 24 hours to correct this or the booking gets cancelled.I hope you will understand that we can not just process credit or debit cards where invalid or wrong data linked to that card is inputed by yourself fraud is rife and we would expect guest like yourself would be understanding that we have a strict process to follow. For future reference please make sure any online sales you make with credit cards that all data like your CORRECT address is inputed so these kind of situations can not occure.

I and my partner decided to book holiday after nearly two years. Because of Covid situation we prefer to stay in and go to seaside, we have booked Newark. We welcomed by Mark (owner)and he did all the check in formalities .we paid for bed and breakfast in full upon arrival . The room was so basic, We booked the double bed but we have got two single beds attached together and uncomfortable mattress, there was no shampoos and shower gel, thanks god we took our own , There was a kettle plus towel which was bonus. We went for breakfast next day and breakfast time was funny starting from 9 which I never seen or heard and the cleaning of the room will take a place after 11am, which was another weird rules. First morning ,we were so happy to have nice breakfast and go out to explore, the breakfast room was in the basement and in dark, not airy at all . The continental breakfast was just corn flex and hot breakfast was hurried. He gave us two plates of full English breakfast which was disgusting,I found the big hair in my plate plus the breakfast was inedible.the cafetière was filled with instant Nescafé such a strange place .The whole plate of food looks and smell bad so the hair already put me off and my partner even couldn’t eat ,so I ran upstairs , I couldn’t stand , My partner was very nice and just say I found the hair in our breakfast and we left it there . we didn’t take bkf anymore . as the breakfast is the important meal of the day and has been ruined already , we have to take and spend outside which was expensive for 7 day . and every day have been questioned by him if we would go for bkf next day and I don’t know why he questioned this every day since we have been paid already . The day before departure , my partner told him that we will talk to him about bkf on check out . The sad part was he vanished and turns up when we already out of premises and he just waved to us and said thanks guys . He didn’t ask how was our stay and he didn’t have manner to apologise . We expected refund for every breakfast but we didn’t get any plus he just treated us like he doesn’t care . Please if you want to visit Bournemouth don’t stay there otherwise if you want to have scary experience .

We are saddened to read such negative and mainly untruths for whatever reason and will address your points individually. There is no staff member here called Mark it was myself the owner that checked you in on arrival. If you can remember your boyfriend wanted to pay without you seeing the amount paid infact he had called me 5 days before your arrival he said it was a surprise and could he pay upfront without you seeing the rate you paid, for security reasons this was declined and like others payment was made on arrival.it was more than clear he was looking for the lowest prices available at time of booking. Your boyfriend reserved a double bedded room and that is what you got we have no rooms with single beds pushed together.Your room which you say was basic had a double bed with headboard two bed side cabinets each with matching lamps and full warlrobe a chest of drawers television and two tubs chairs tea and coffe tray so perhaps not so basic after all. Your boyfriend did politely mention that a hair was found on your plate I immediately apologised and asked for the plate, for some reason instead of showing me the offending hair you said you had disregarded it. After apologising again and telling you I would have changed the plate immediately he said it was not a problem. That morning your hair was lose and if indeed there was a hair it could well have fallen from your own head.During a major pandemic we are serving our guest in the best safe and secure way possible both of you did say you did not believe in the vacine because you did not trust the British governmant and what it might contain. We are sorry you found it both strange that we serve breakfast at 9am and will service guest rooms from 11am the mind boggles why you would find any of this strange. Every single day I had many polite conversations with you both and yes seeing as breakfast is complimentary I did ask you on a few occasions if you would be taking breakfast. The rate you were paying after commision was £59 per night for a double room one of the cheapest rates in Bournemouth during this period unlike many accommodation providers who have increased their rate by up to 50 per cent because of demand we have kept ours the same. Not once did your boyfriend say he would discuss anything with me on the final day as previously mentioned he could have had a conversation with me about anything on any of the days before departure,.The morning you were leaving we were finishing of clearing away from breakfast when I heard you both leaving I immediately dashed upstairs to thank you and say goodbye but once again you somehow simply replied thank you and left, you had every oppotunity to mention anything you liked but for some reason never did. After speaking with your boyfriend yesterday briefly he seemed emmbarrassed that you had written such a review appologised and said goodbye. Finally may we suggest you read many of our other reviews which none ever mention a scary experiance though english may not be your first language you should be a little more respectful with the words you use.

Stayed here Oct 4th for 2 nights Very warm welcome, room very spacious with wonderful views of IOW. Breakfast was an assortment of cereal, cooked breakfast and toast which was served with fresh juices, tea or coffee, all of which was lovely. Location is very close to shopping centre but far enough for it to be quiet. Only down side is parking however we paid for long stay parking around the corner at reasonable price. Would definitely recommend
