Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We arrived believing we had booked bed and breakfast but on arrival we were told by the housekeeper that they had not done breakfasts for about 2 years. Yet on various sites who all describe bed and breakfast and even show photos of the dining room with tables set. The owners should update these sites to avoid any confusion .

My wife and I have recently returned home from a weeks stay at Shoreline. We had a very relaxing break in a pleasant, clean and comfortable accommodation. Tim and John were very friendly and helpful, while the housekeeping lady looked after us everyday. Would strongly recommend, especially to middle aged couples looking to unwind like ourselves.

This little place is amazing. To start I received two phone calls; one to confirm the booking and the second the day before we were staying to confirm that everything was okay and give approximate time of arrival so the host could be there for us. Shoreline allows dogs which was a benefit for us. The rooms are lovely. Clean and with everything in them, even down to plates and cutlery in case you order a takeaway. Bowl of fruit, coffee and tea making facilities, a mini fridge, TV. It’s all there. The room is so spacious and the comfort of the beds are to die for. The host could not be more helpful and welcoming. “If you need anything I’m only upstairs.” It is about 300m from a dog-friendly beach and just around the corner is a dog-friendly Greene-King pub restaurant where you can get a lovely meal and reasonably priced. It’s also 5 minutes walk to the local shopping area with big name convenience stores and some cafes that are also dog-friendly. I recommend this place even if you don’t have a pet. You get a better service than you do at some chain hotels. Honestly, stay there!

Very friendly owner, he even called me before I arrived to wish me a safe journey and ask what time I will be checking in. Room serviced and cleaned every day. This B&B is in a great location, just a few minutes walk from Southbourne Town and high street. It appeared that there was something wrong with my radiator, so without asking I was provided with an electric radiator - very attentive and on the ball owners! The decor was very outdated if I am honest, it did feel like being back in the 70s, but this isn't necessarily a negative or something that bothered me. The thing that struck me the most however was the cleanliness of this establishment...it was absolutely immaculate! Could have eaten my dinner off of the floor. Would definitely return.

Barbara and her sister Jake stayed in room 1 and it was perfect! Very comfy double bed with ensuite bathroom. Very clean, with lovely touches of fruit, biscuits and tea and coffee. The owners, John and Tim were very welcoming and great hosts. Thank you to both of them and their staff, can't wait to come back again!

This was our second stay here and it was lovely. The owners are very welcoming (even get a nice phone call before arriving to wish safe travels!) and on arrival, we were shown to our room. We had an en suite which was perfect for our stay. The rooms are very cozy and clean. Also provided are a selection of coffees and hot chocolate. The best part though are the resident cats! Very much enjoyed being greeted with meows in the morning and on entry to the hallway! We look forward to returning.

My partner booked this for us just a few hours before we stayed (as they had a cancellation). The owners were on holiday themselves, so the lovely Rachel looked after us. The house, room and bathroom were spotless (even though there were a couple of beautiful live in cats). We had fresh fruit, bottled water, biscuits and tea, coffee & hot chocolate in our room which was lovely and there was a fridge to pop our leftover beach snacks in for the next day. We were in Bournemouth for a concert so it was only a short stay, but next time we will book ahead and stay again. Thank you!

We had a comfortable stay here and the location was very good, only down the road from Southbourne beach. I would reccomend this place for a short stay, as breakfast isn't currently included so it did cost us extra time and money to eat breakfast out for 3 days. There are some lovely cafes around though in Southbourne high street, but it would work out pricey if we had stayed here a week. Owner Tim is very friendly and accommodating, was great with communication and reccomendations of the local cafes/ places to visit in the area. The other owner though was very rude to my family member on numerous occasions and not very welcoming, he didn't come out to greet to say hello, just walked around and moaned- I have to mention this as this was a small part that spoiled our stay here. If you need to stay somewhere near the beach which is reasonable and clean for a few days, I'd reccomend here.
