We were looking for somewhere close (we're from Poole) to go away in our van for the weekend and chose Brewery Farm. We were not disappointed, its lovely. I did read the one poor review on here and was so pleased to see they had taken it on board. There are now an additional two toilets there and as soon as we arrived we were given a walking guide with a great selection of local walks that we used both days there. This is a small farm campsite, which is exactly what we like and in a perfect setting for us. The staff were super friendly and nothing was too much trouble and the pub across the road was fantastic. All in all a win win for us and a fantastic weekend.

Remote, yet has everything you need.
Affable welcome and shown round all facilities.
Reasonable price as it's all inclusive.
Their toilet and shower facilities are outstanding. Large wet-rooms in a brand new, heated amenities shed.
Plenty of piping hot water for washing up or even a hot water bottle;-)
The large gastro-pub just opposite is also very friendly and quite reasonable priced but is popular with locals ( and their dogs) for miles around so make sure you book!
The campsite's owners gave us a pub discount card on arrival and were proud to offer us a booklet of local walks .(£2 for charity)
We did try one with our little dog but the landscape was exceptionally claggy clay and super boggy, unusual for Dorset. Obviously would be much better later in year.
The views of rolling countryside and sunsets was charming. We will return someday. And highly recommend!

Carol and the team at Brewery Farm Campsite were really friendly and accommodating. This is a little hidden gem of a site with very clean and generous facilities, only a small number of pitches, friendly guests and a relaxed atmosphere. It is on the upper edge of a working farm which is interesting to watch and there is a substantial village shop and post office on site so despite its remote location you can get everything you would need (including ice creams!).

It is also super handy to have a pub which serves good food over the road and we went for an evening meal and they serve breakfast from 8.30 which was also delicious.

One of our favourite memories of the campsite will be the sunsets, they were simply magical and all pitches have a great view over the unspoilt rolling Dorest countryside.

The walking guide that the team have produced is really fantastic and makes it so easy to go out for family friendly walks. The countryside is beautiful and you could quite happily spend a few quiet days based on site.

As we had a young family to entertain we headed out to Monkey World, the Dorest Falconry Park, Abbotsbury Swannery and botanical gardens and the lovely Moreton Walled gardens which was free and a lovely surprise. All enjoyable.

What a great little break!

There are some outstanding points and on the face of it, the campsite ticks all the right boxes.

Large shower rooms/loos. Additional separate loos which I understand were added due to queues. Hot water. Real cleanliness. Firepits allowed. A fantastic village shop with anything you could reasonable want. A Freehouse Pub across the road (literally). Archetypal rural Dorset view and sunsets.

But it doesn't come together. Not yet at least. I do wonder if the owners are themselves campers or it is another addition to the estate which encompasses everything in the vicinity.

The site needs to work out who it is for. Rural campers? Campers with hard standing and electrical hook ups? Caravaners? Glampers? It is a small site which is trying to cater for all the above - and compromising them all.

The pitches have been squeezed in. Yes there is a massive field in front of the site, but with a fence and gate in the way it wasn't used by anyone, is it for the kids to play in or fly a kite, who knows? So you end up feeling contained. The wash up has a trough which one can't actually get a bowl in. The hard standing track means every time some one walks past in the night to go to the loo... you wake up.

There had been unseasonal rainfall, but please... do not suggest the ground drains surprisingly quickly. It is heavy clay and doesn't.

But probably the thing that got us most was the low level noise of a relatively tightly packed site. We left later than most on the August Bank Holiday so that we could have lunch at the Pub. When we did, only three or four remained - and for the first time we got to hear the countryside rather than humans. The sun shone, it was warm and the site revealed what it could be.

Thank you for providing your feedback following your recent stay at our campsite. We are very pleased you approve of the nearby amenities and found the cleanliness of our facilities to be of a good standard. In response to some of your points raised we would just like to take time to explain so that others reading your comments can understand. Our campsite offers a mixture of hard-standing pitches with electric hook ups, grass pitches & during the peak summer weeks we have just 4 ready pitched bell tents. We like to offer the choice to all types of campers so that everyone can enjoy our beautiful corner of Dorset! With regards to the ground, having lived on our farm for 21 years we do know it pretty well and it does dry out very quickly, otherwise with the British weather we would be foolish to offer grass pitches in the first place! Unfortunately just prior to your arrival we had a huge amount of rainfall in a short space of time – obviously this is beyond our control! We are a working farm and the ‘massive’ field you refer to is home to our livestock, but during the summer they are moved to other fields to accommodate our bell tents, we would have been only too happy for your children to fly their kite or enjoy a game of cricket which many guests do! You only needed to have asked! Bank holiday weekend is always going to prove a popular and busier time to visit and this season has seen an unprecedented demand for campsites across the UK with people understandably staying in the UK for their summer holidays. W hope the above helps clarify some of the points raised and we hope one day you may visit us again during a quieter time of the year. Best wishes from us all at Brewery Farm

We have just got home from our second stay at Brewery Farm campsite. Set in the beautiful Dorset countryside it has amazing views. The pitches are hardstanding for campervans/caravans with grass adjacent to the gravel. The tent pitches are just grass. Pitches are first come first served. The toilet/shower block is great, 4 wet rooms with toilets, sinks and showers plus 2 extra single toilets. All with hot running water - bliss! There is also waste, recycling and washing up facilities. Very clean. Definitely our favourite campsite. The Fox Inn across the road is also lovely and dog friendly. You can buy a walking guide from reception too (£2 for charity) which has 4 or 5 local walks of different levels/lengths.

When our Halkidiki holiday was cancelled due to Covid 19 we were very fortunate to book The Henning Lodge at Brewery Farm, which was a last minute cancellation. How lucky were we?
We chose to stay in a peaceful location after seeing the madness of the crowded beaches on the South Coast once Lock down was eased. Henning Lodge had absolutely everything we needed for 2 couples to stay in comfort. The hot tub was a bonus and following a day exploring the picturesque county of Dorset we enjoyed our chilled evenings with a BBQ or a meal in The Fox Inn, across the road, which is well set up, both inside and outside, to adhere to social distancing. The food was lovely too. Each evening was finished off with some bubbles in the hot tub. The night sky was amazing due to lack of light pollution and we even saw the international space station and several satelites pass over a couple of times.
Brewery Farm was an ideal base for our holiday. If you want to stay local there's lots of lovely local walks. If you want to explore the county, as we did, it's great too. Would love to return in the future.

We arrived ( 2 vans, 4 adults and 3 dogs) during freezing weather on 16th Dec 2022 and had the whole site to ourselves! Unfortunately, when we went to use the toilets, there was water pouring from the ceiling due to a burst pipe. We advised the owners who couldn't have been more helpful and offered us 2 rooms in The Fox Inn, but we were fine to stay in our vans as we have heating and facilities. Plumber arrived at crack of dawn the next morning so we could use the toilets & showers with heating but no electrics. As we ate in the Fox both nights, we had a great stay and a bit of an adventure! Would highly recommend!
When we got home, we received an apology from the owners which was nice but not necessary as they couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating

We stayed in the camp site and we loved it. The block for the toilets was modern and very well maintained ,it contained 3 wet room and 2 other toilets .We camped at the bottom of the site right next to a field of sheep ,it was very interesting watching the baby lamp pestering there mothers for milk and frolicking about in play groups .Hector the ram was always demanding to be pated like a dog. The site is right next to the Fox Inn which is also owned by the family and is amazing ,all ingredients is source from within 25 miles ,the meat coming from the farm ,we did not plan to use it so much but the breakfast was to die for and the dinners unbeatable ,the people who worked there where well trained and just as important enjoyed there work ,thankyou to all the people who served us

I visited the Brewery Farm this weekend with my family, it was absolutely amazing, we were greated by Caroline who made sure we knew where we were going and were everything was. Once we were set up Carol delivered a fit pit to our plot with wood and kindling, which she replenished the very next day. The setting is just incredible, the backdrop of the beautiful Dorset hillside when the fire is roaring and the sun is setting is just stunning. Aswell as the idyllic setting the facilities where so clean and we're continually checked and maintained by Carol or one of her team.

The pub across the road (The Fox inn) served amazing food of which most of the ingredients were from the farm itself. There was also a huge variety of drinks, once again from all local producers.

The campsite was so well kept and tidy and was absolutely amazing.

We will definitely be returning.
