Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hosts treat you like part of the family. Home cooked breakfast is faultless. Clean and airy room. It was the second time there for us and we will be staying again when visiting family without a doubt.

Great location to stroll into Shaftesbury (10 minutes away). Filling breakfast. Super friendly, chatty hosts. Nice room. Very handy for local restaurants (Thai, Indian, Italian and several pubs) and a convenience shop and fast food outlets are just across the road. Free parking on site.

This is bit of an odd one as after our stay when my wife and I had left the guest house heading back to London and discussing our stay it was only when we drove passed Stonehenge we both suddenly realised what we had liked and why we had such a good time, its like being at say University and you have gone home for the weekend, your back in your own bedroom with all the comforts that you have missed and then in the morning the home made cooked breakfast and the comfort you have felt and missed that's the best way to explain the stay, the hosts are brilliant and nothing is to much trouble for them, the breakfast is certainly something special and kippers and poached eggs something I haven't had for years was very enjoyable, and brought back fond memories of my grandmother. My wife had porridge and a full English which she thoroughly enjoyed and again nothing was a problem. The morning banter with the hosts and another guest during breakfast again made breakfast even more enjoyable as it created the atmosphere of being at a family breakfast and you were at home and thank you we had a great stay and in the words of Arnie "We will be back" and Wifi good fast connection Look forward to seeing you both soon

I stayed one night at Holbrook B&B and had a wonderful stay. The room while small was extremely comfortable and the bed was the best I had in time in the UK. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, but not intrusive. Breakfast was delicious and communal breakfast room made for good company and conversation. The host were also very helpful regarding places to visit and eat in town. Would stay again!

Booked into here for four nights as we are looking to move to the area. Can’t give high enough praise. Our room was clean, warm & comfortable. The bathroom was stocked with all the toiletries we needed. The tea tray had everything we needed. The hotel is situated on a busy road so our hosts had thoughtfully provided earplugs. These weren’t needed as the double glazing kept the noise out. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We could help ourself to fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal and juice. Full English breakfast was cooked to order and nothing was too much trouble. Nice to see porridge & kippers on the menu too. All in all a very enjoyable stay. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly. They were interest in why we were in Shaftesbury and we welcomed all their knowledge and information of the area. We’d love to stay with them again and probably will when we return to the area.

Booked very last minute and was lucky to get a room as it was a cancellation, so meant to be! Very easy to find and conveniently located, short walk into Shaftsbury which is an beautiful old town and well worth a trip into to walk around the old streets. I stayed for the Great Dorst Steam Fair and it is perfectly situated for the very short commute. Greeting was warm and friendly from the host. Room was lovely and clean with a good size bathroom and lovely big shower. Complimentary Wi-Fi and tea, coffee and biscuits provided in the room. Little TV to keep you occupied. Breakfast was delicious and cooked fresh to order. Fresh pot of coffee per person, fresh orange juice. Lovely choice of fresh fruit and yogurt. I went for the full English, which had a good choice of how I wanted my eggs which I like. It was all perfect. I highly recommend Holbrook Bed and Breakfast, it's a warm and friendly place well worth the stay.

Stayed just one night, apart from the pillows, but I think that could be a personal thing, it was a lovely stay. I only stayed 1 night but Ian and his wife made every effort to accommodate, so chatty and friendly, even managed to get the whole breakfast tables into a group conversation. Breakfast was great, enough to last the day. The room was big, bright and airy…..good for the heatwave we are having. Shower was great.defo recommended it. I had a triple room for myself, and they pushed 2 singles together to give me a huge bed to sleep on.

I was not planning on staying in Shaftesbury but due to some car trouble I was forced to. With all the the hotels booked I stayed at Holbrook B&B. I am glad I did. First, the owners were so accommodating and helpful. They noticed I was a little upset due to my car trouble and gave me great recommendations for a place to eat and have a beer to help calm me down a bit. When I got back they had my room ready. It was very clean, had its own bathroom and all I needed to have a restful night. When I got up and went down stairs for breakfast I was blown away at the English breakfast they served. Eggs, sausage, bacon, beans, hashbrown, juice, cofee/tea. The owners came in and we had a great conversation about where I was from and family. I really appreciated them making me feel so welcome!

The owners went out of their way to make my stay a good experience. The bed was so comfortable, and I woke up very refreshed. Breakfast was excellent, and there were good choices available. I had the 'full English' that set me up for the day.
