Detailed Reviews
We've just come back from a night away at Caalm Camp. Ahead of booking I contacted the owner, Mark, to ask if we could come for 1 night as we had never camped with our toddler before. He was happy to accommodate us but I needn't had worried as this was glamping, of an amazing standard. On arrival we were met by Mark and given a tour of the site, instantly feeling really welcome and at ease. We stayed in the daisy Yurt which is the closest to the amenities and we were amazed with the size but also how cosy it was. Beds were made up with luxury sheets (bring your own pillow though for Covid reasons) and they were comfy. The yurt had two hot plates , a kettle and a log burner. There was a great selection of crockery, cutlery and cups too. Outside there was a fire pit, picnic table, BBQ and parasol. Each yurt has its own locked wet room which was extremely clean and warm, towels were provided. The shared kitchen was spotless too, with an incredible selection of all the cooking utensils you'd ever need. There was a rustic barn with a pool table which has lasers inside at night for impromptu discos. Outside, there was a Wendy house and selection of ride on toys for little ones as well as a play area and trampoline. There also were some super cute goats and sheep you were encouraged to go in and pet which was lovely.
In terms of covid, the measures in place made me feel secure. The yurts were very clean, bedding and towels professionally laundered and all shared spaces spotless. Masks to be worn in communal areas as you'd expect. I loved that we had our own lockable wet room too, so these weren't shared like you'd see on other campsites.
Mark and Caryl have clearly put a lot of thought into Caalm Camp, offering bed guards, high chairs and children's tables aswell as unlimited fire wood and coals for your burner (for 3 pound). We will definitely be back.

We booked a 3 night break, 2 adults and 2 children aged 11 and 8.
Booking was very easy and communication from Caalm Camp was excellent.
The yurt itself was amazing and facilities within the yurt were great, everything we needed. Having the individual washroom facilities was very nice and given the current COVID situation it made our stay feel even safer. The facilities in the shared kitchen area were brilliant with our own named fridge and cupboard space. Due to COVID we were asked not to use the shared kitchen space to prepare food so they had provided an extra table within the yurt to make this easier.
The children loved the freedom of being in a safe environment and able to visit the barn with the goats, pool and table tennis.
The surroundings are beautiful and so peaceful.
We really enjoyed being to able to have a camp fire and bbq with unlimited free wood supplied.
100% recommend Caalm Camp and can't wait until we can visit again in the future.

We recently stayed at Caalm Camp with our daughter (11 years) and two families from her school. 6 adults and 5 children in all. We had 3 Yurts. Would highly recommend this camp.. you have your own lockable washroom that has a toilet/ sink / walk in shower. The kitchen is also fully equipped with two big coolers and a fridge and cupboard for each yurt. The campsite is very quiet with lovely walks and there is lots to do around the area. We went Alpaca trekking which was great fun! The Yurts themselves are very cosy and spacious. They have a lovely wood burner inside so it is very warm and cosy.. 5 out of 5 stars.. could not have a moan about anything ! Thank you for a lovely stay....

This is my 3rd visit to Caalm Camp because it is literally so perfect.
Do not think of this as camping at all, it isn't even glamping, because it is so much more than that. There afre beds and electricity and hotel style bathrooms.
They have gone above and beyond during the pandemic. There are hand sanitising stations everywhere, and because the communal kitchen can no longer be used for food prep, there are now hot plates and prep table in each yurt, which is super convenient. Mark and Caryl are so friendly and helpful, and the neighbourhood goats are adorable. Can't wait to come back.

What can I say, first time glamping experience and really enjoyed it. Mark was there to meet us and show us around, available if we needed him but left us to our own devices. The yurt was lovely, everything we needed to cook inside and out. The fire pit and wood burner kept us really toasty at night. Yurts are really lovely, spacious and spaced out, giving you privacy and the individual bathrooms were spotless. Udders farm shop is well worth a visit as the burgers, sausages and meat was lovely. I would highly recommend this camp site. Thank you Mark and Caryl for a lovely experience

My wife and two teenage boys spent a fantastic week at Caalm Camp in Dorset staying in the fantastic Mongolian Yurts. From the second we arrived in the stunning Dorset countryside and were welcome by owner Mark we felt relaxed. The Yurt was stocked with all the items we might need, the location was idyllic and the additional facilities like Wet room and fridge turned this into a much more comfortable experience than traditional camping. If you're looking to leave the town/city behind and feel immersed in the countryside then this is exactly what you're looking for!

We had a lovely first stay at Caalm Camp which really does live up to its name. The yurts are a really good size and for the chilly March nights perfectly cosy with the log burner. This site is unique as you have your own lockable toilet / shower room which is a great bonus and it’s heated too. The kitchen is well equipped and each yurt has their own fridge and two cupboards.
Attention to detail here really stands out, you can see the love that has been putting into making it. Mark the host was friendly and great to have a laugh with. The location is perfect with the tranquility of the area you really can relax and go home feeling refreshed.
We will definitely be staying here again without a doubt.
-For a meal out we recommend The Crown pub just down the road which was friendly with really delicious food.

Booked this at short notice when Covid changes made another option fall through. Mark was very helpful with the booking. Ensured he was in when we arrived, had a toasty fire burning in the log burner. The Yurt was comfortable and spacious for a family of 6 (children aged 16-10), and the washroom facilities were excellent - individual bathroom for each family with decent heating. Games room with pool table / goats / table tennis was popular with the children. Pleasant run to Shaftesbury in the morning (12km round trip to Gold Hill). Highly recommend.

From the moment we were greeted by the owner Mark, i knew we had made the right choice.
Super friendly, and helpful with any and all questions.
The facilities here are better than i expected, clean, tidy, and very well thought out.
Fantastic kitchen area, with separate fridges and storage areas for all the yurts.
Great dinning/ lounge area, with more than enough for the kids to be entertained in several separate areas.
We hired 3 of the yurts and had 5 kids with us ranging from 18 months to 4 years old. They all had an amazing time and didn’t want to leave, and it was the same with the adults.
The yurts are kitted out with everything you will need, log burner, fans, electrical outlets, hot plate etc.
There is more than enough room inside, just mind your head on the way out !
The grounds are kept amazingly tidy, and you feel so relaxed the whole time, loads of space for the young ones to play.
Evenings are fantastic with your own bbq and fire pit right outside the yurt.
If your thinking about booking, do it ! You wont regret it.

+1
We stayed here for the first time for 4 nights in March and can’t wait to go back!
We have stayed in yurts before but these are by far the best for facilities.
The yurts themselves are a very good size, with electric and a hot plate inside.
Outside there is a firepit, barbecue and wooden table and bench. There is a fully equipped kitchen with each yurt having its own fridge and cupboards. Each yurt also has its own bathroom, better than some I’ve seen in hotels, and spotless clean!
There is lots of outside space for children of all ages and the cutest goats.
I have no hesitation in giving Caalm Camp 5 stars and can’t wait to visit again
