Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is our third stay with Caalm Camp. We love the small safe site that allows the children to run free whilst we chill outside our yurt with the fire pits going. We book three of the Yurts at a time as it is perfect for families coming together. The Yurts are perfectly spaced out for privacy but close enough to have all family nearby. We love how well the facilities work, each yurt has its own bathroom and fridge, just makes our stay so much easier. Mark, the host, is friendly and at hand if you need him. This site gives a simple, glamping, family holiday a relaxed feel. We would and have recommended Caalm Camp to friends and family.

Room Tip: As wood is included, you don't have to pay extra. Many sites charge per bucket. Good value.

The most relaxed I have felt in months, a real gem of a place, I highly recommend. We stayed for 3 nights and particularly enjoyed the pizza oven and the communal camp fire for marshmallows and songs.

Where to start - we had the most incredible time staying at Caalm Camp last weekend with family and friends! We booked the whole site for a long weekend for our wedding having visited previously and knowing it was a great spot. After getting married on the Saturday nearby in a registry office we came to Caalm Camp for drinks and then a sit-down meal. We had so much help from Mark and Caryl setting up the venue on the Friday, they are so friendly and helpful and really made our stay! We set-up a camping table under the canopy on the grassy area for drinks which was perfect and a beautiful spot and Mark helped us create one long table inside for the meal. Our whole party had an amazing time made even better by the beautiful yurts in the well kept surroundings, definitely recommend hiring the hot tub and the pizza oven too. The pizzas are delicious. Oh and the fire pit area is so great. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Bring some £1 coins for the goat feed! The kids loved going into the fields with the goats

Absolutely amazing! My wife and two children stayed in a beautiful Yurt on a stunning site last week and we have all had the most amazing time. Facilities are fantastic with a washroom, kitchen, dining area and chill out room at the back which also has goats…much to the excitement of our son! Each yurt is spacious with it’s own tea making area and hobs. Outside is a picnic table and there is a campfire section if there’s a few people staying. A play area for children too. Honestly cannot recommend Caalm Camp highly enough and we’ll definitely be back again.

What an amazing week! We absolutely loved the beautiful Mongolian yurt we stayed it. Travelling as a couple with a baby and toddler we wanted something that was home from home, but a bit quirky. And this was perfect! The yurt itself is beautifully decorated, each yurt has its own name after a flower, and a colour scheme where the doors and painted beams all match. Inside we had a double bed and two singles, and there was plenty of space for the toddler to run around inside. In the middle was a log burner with a supply of matches and logs. We also had a kitchenette with cups and plates and pans, two electric hotplates, and a kettle. Outside the yurt we had a picnic bench for al fresco eating. In the main building there was a huge kitchen and our own fridge and cupboards, and OUR OWN shower room that was really well maintained. There was a huge communal lounge and dining area, and also a games room with ping pong, snooker, darts, and 5 very friendly goats! On site there is also a small play area with swings and a slide, a trampoline, goalposts and footballs, a sandpit, a campfire, and a log store. The host, Mark, was very friendly, and checked in with us a few times to make sure we were having a good time, and he recommended some local places to eat and activities that would suit the kids. As the weather was so nice we managed to get out and about every day and explore Dorset, everything is within roughly an hour's drive (the camp itself is under 10 mins drive from Shaftesbury town centre so accessible for supplies) But it was always great coming back to the yurt after a day out. We will definitely be back, and will be recommending Caalm Camp to all our friends. Thank you for a wonderful week!

Absolutely brilliant time at Caalm camp, we went as a family of 5 and everyone had a fantastic time, when we went anywhere for the day, all the kids wanted to do was to come back to the yurt. Very relaxing, plenty to keep the children occupied ages 5 to 12. Great extras like having your own bathroom, fridge and cupboard space plus wood for the fire at no extra cost, a really well run place to stay.

This place thinks of everything, it’s the best camping site with yurts that we have visited. A lovely welcome from Mark and a tour of the site, a real pleasure to meet the goat guests in the barn which our little boy loved! The yurts are so beautifully made, spacious, comfortable beds and so warm. A lovely mini kitchen to make your morning cup of tea after a wonderful nights sleeps under the stars. This site has an amazing communal area, great kitchen facilities and each yurt has its own bathroom with towels provided, genius! We were a group of 12 adults and 11 kids and everyone loved it. The small touches that Mark has made to the site truly makes the weekend . We were blessed with more sunshine than rain in March but being here made the sunshine moments amazing and the rain didn’t take away any smiles amongst the group. A beautiful , clean and accommodating site that we hope to return to every year!

Proper proper glamping. The facilities are outstanding...better than some b&b's I've stayed in. Even at the end of October our yurt was really warm. My kids loved it. Highly recommend and will definitely be staying again.

Sat in the sunshine watching the kids play football and no-one wanting to leave. This is the most amazing place with every attention to detail. Fully equipped cosy yurts together with a kitchen and own private bathroom. Host Mark ensures all needs are met with a great recommendation for Alpaca walking. We look forward to returning.
