Me and my partner were looking at places to stay this New Year so I called the Castleton. I began with 'Hello, may I check availability' who which a very rude lady replied 'who is this?!' Her response took me by surprise and it made me doubt I had dialled the correct number. I told the lady my name and... More

Having just stayed the weekend at The Castleton, I feel compelled to add my own experience of my visit. Firstly, I agree the reception is not always manned. This caused no problem at all as keys could be collected from the excellent bar and restaurant opposite. The room information also points out a ' ring for service' bell if so... More

We arrived early to find no parking spaces as they only have four spaces and ten rooms we had to park in a car park the three days we were their. The hotel only opens every day at four o,clock to book people in and then you do not see anyone until breakfast two young girls. We stayed in room... More

We only stayed a couple of nights as we were touring the south coast, but really appreciated the warm welcome, friendly staff, delicious breakfasts and spacious accommodation... a sea view from our room and a 2 minute stroll to the beach. Many thanks

An arrival we faced the first dissapointing fact: the hotel states as " possible parking on site" meaning: first comes first served and they got only 5 spaces. the surrounding streets can offer better parking than the hotel, but you need to walk a few minutes. Also check in was only possible between 16-18.00 pm... Room: start with the fridge,... More

We came back to Swanage hoping this hotel would be just as lovely as it was in 1983. It is (with some obvious upgrades!) thankfully, with great service from the hardworking Mollie and a superb breakfast to start the day! Lovely visit so thanks

Stayed here for a few days, had a room for 3 which was quite large with a double bed in the main room and 2 single beds in a separate room and a separate bathroom. There was a small TV and tea/coffee/biscuits provided daily in the room. Was very clean and well kept, nice quiet and small hotel close to... More

We received a call from the owner whilst we were en-route to stay and did not want to cancel. We were offered assistance in booking a hotel maybe in Bournemouth, but we were set on Swanage. The room we were offered for maybe a night or two until ours was habitable again was far too small for our needs so... More

Our room, No 10, was ready when we arrived for a four night stay. It was spacious, light and airy. The tea and coffee making kit was well stocked so that we could have several cups per day and the complimentary water was always replaced each day. The breakfast was excellent and served promptly by cheerful staff. Situation is good... More
