Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Always nice to stay here even if they do have design issues in some caravans. On our last visit we had serious issue with size of bathroom but was sorted swiftly for us and given a choice of other caravans. Only issue would be, when they are busy, which is most of the time now, that would not happen

This is our third trip to Ulwell Holiday Park. Really like the area as it’s close to Swanage but has a rural feel about it with lovely walks on the door step. Site is nice and quiet with a big play area for the kids. Pool is ok and kids enjoy it although 45min slots are a bit short for them. We’ve not eaten in the bar but have enjoyed a few drinks in there. Staff seem very friendly and overall I’ve no complaints. The most recent caravan we stayed in was Caterina which was the nicest we have stayed in. Looking forward to returning next year at some point.

Not happy with the service from the barman. We are locals and popped in for a drink. I wasn’t happy with the beer and asked for a replacement- the barman decided to argue the toss. Beer was flat and cloudy, reluctantly he changed my pint for another. Certainly wouldn’t rush back!

We used the touring pitch to base our motorhome for 3 days. A great location with easy access to Swanage and Studland by bus. Plenty of glorious walking with amazing views. The Village pub on site is very nicely decorated and our evening meal was cooked and presented to perfection. The washing facilities are basic but very clean. Would certainly recommend this site

Visited Ulwell with family, my wife & I in a motorhome and my daughter's family joining us a couple of days later in their tent. Tried to book pitches near each other but couldn't through the booking process. Both my daughter & I called to see if we could change pitches to be next to each other and informed fully booked. upon our arrival and when checking in we asked at the reception on site if we could possibly relocate as there were obvious pitches not booked but again the response was 'fully booked and change over days, therefore can't help you'. We even told them of empty pitches but still no; needless to say we could have spent time closer to each, especially to our granddaughter - heartless jobs worth receptionists! Site was nice place for extra long weekend, although on site pub couldn't cope with food booking - fully booked Friday night and no basic take away; couldn't book Saturday until on the day! God knows how they cope if fully booked. Toilet block always clean, however washing up facilities challenging as the night draws in as the well needed lighting didn't switch on early enough and found ourselves washing up in the dark at dusk. Review could be more favourable with good customer service.

Thank you for your review and sorry that you did not enjoy elements of your stay. We'd refute your claim that we are not family friendly. We certainly are and have been welcoming families, many of which have returned for generations, for many years now. Without knowing more details about your booking it's hard to say what happened regarding pitches during your stay however I do know that we have been virtually fully booked, if not fully booked through every weeked on our touring site recently. Some people may not have arrived yet, and many customers book specfic pitches with us so moving people. Also not every pitch is suitable or allows certain things. With regards to the Village Inn, it is very popular with locals and guests a like and can get booked up, especially for the evenings. We're sorry that the lights in the washup area didn't come on early enough, I know this was looked at recently but we will see if they need bringing forward. I will pass on your comments to the bar manager and reception manager however.

We we’re staying at a local hotel (expensive and unappealing menu) and found this gem. Well kept real ale (could do with bottle beer to take away if needed) Homemade food with a variety of specials and an excellent every day menu. Very reasonable priced. We went every evening of our stay in the area. Tuesday and Thursday staff lovely, efficient and helpful…..Wednesday staff had no one supervising them. Stood by bar drinking and chatting to each other and the bar man. Told that someone would be over…in the end had to go and order at the bar. When the food came they hadn’t set up cutlery and condiments. I had to ask at the bar for them. Don’t leave two young girls to run a restaurant with no supervision

I felt crammed in, constantly opening and closing the curtains for privacy and then a Turing caravan set up by the very narrow entrance to are parking space, i spoke to the uninterested man on reception and he just fobbed me of, so there were days when i had to park a the reception car park and walk to my caravan. £1050 we paid for this. If you have a disability or are unsteady on your feet then you take a risk on this site that you wont have full access to your caravan and the man on reception wont help you. Can i say to the man on reception, your employer has given you a job and pays you to look after there site, and you completely failed in doing that.

Thank you for your review and I you did not enjoy your stay and had problems with my level of service. If I recall correctly you were in one of our Oak caravans. This caravans parking space is at the rear, and across the road that you access the parking space from is a touring pitch. I would disagree that I fobbed you off and apologise if it appeared that way. You came and said that the customer who had arrived on this pitch had parked very close to your space limiting access. I spoke at length to you about how he parked and ascertained, by your own admittance, he had parked on his pitch and not in the road or partially on the road. I then said I would check when I went around the park to see if he had parked correctly or not and adress the issue if he had not. I checked a number of times, unfortunately most times I checked the customer was out with his car. One the one occasion I did see him parked there he had parked within the confines of this pitch so there wasn't any action I could take. I have forwarded your comments to the park owners for their considertion

There is no motor home service point on this site so take your buckets! Also, main showers are totally non adjustable (and when we visited were much too hot) There are two family bathrooms with adjustable showers but one was broken making the flow fierce enough to blast you against the wall. The main shower rooms do not have sink cubicles either. The surrounding hills make for a pleasant view though.

Thank you for your review and we're sorry you were not satisified with your stay. It is true that we do not have a drive over motorhome service point however we do have motorhomes staying on site all year round. We did have an issue with the shower temperature last week however this was resolved the same day it was reported to reception. Whist indvidual shower cubicles do not have sinks, but there are sinks in both the ladies and gents facilities.
