the room was big, and the welcome tray stocked with coffee, sugar etc, but what a shame that this hotel has been allowed to get so run down, peeling wall paper on the walls in the bedroom and landings, sockets hanging off the walls, our window wouldn't close, our bath had massive chips in it , the carpets are threadbare... Stayed here for wildlife festival! Booked in advance but still cost loads for what it was, not in Brighton centre so fairly expensive bearing in mind location. Quick train journey to Brighton centre if desired, very close to station & cheap. Very basic hotel with a lot of things abit broken including dodgy plugs that don't work! Furnishing is very... More

Front of house petty rude on arrival. Room OK, shower good. I chose this hotel specifically because it has on site parking. On my second night my vehicle was robbed on site of about four hundred and fifty pounds worth of my possessions. Hotel not sympathetic, reluctant initially to call police. Turns out there's no cctv, and checks to verify... More

Stayed for one night only very tired looking hotel in need of refurbishment. Large room an clean beds shower adequate but in need of update. No lift so not suitable for disabled people. Not too far from city centre and bus stops immediately in front of hotel. Breakfast Ok but we're not offered coffe or toast refills. All staff very... More

I was a little concerned about staying at this hotel after reading the other reviews here, but I can say that this hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable with the added benefit of a large free car park (a rarity in Brighton). Staff are pleasant, rooms are large, bathrooms clean but basic. Definitely a hotel for the business traveller rather... More

Booked at short notice for reasonable price. The good : staff friendly, not too far from attractions, good price, large rooms, lots of space, fresh towels and comfy bed. Reasonably clean. The bad: very outdated and could do with refurb but didn't bother me too much as I wasn't expecting too much for the price I paid, shower had hardly... More

We stayed 2nts here. Beds were comfortable, room adequate in size, bath and over bath shower. Our room was quiet and cooler as it was at the back of the hotel facing the garden. A bit of a rabbit warren, but it is an old building. We ate at a pub 5min walk away but there is a restaurant on... More

Needing to book an affordable room at quite short notice, I was concerned at some of the reviews I'd read. However, convincing myself it was just for the one night, we'll be fine, I went ahead with the booking. I was really pleasantly surprised and wonder if the people writing the horrid reviews really have nothing better to do with... More
