Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great hotel we had the King George 3rd Room Called this because of the original painting discovered when it was renovated......see picture......we are talking 17 hundreds..... Bar staff excellent especially Grace and Paul. Food great. Full cooked breakfast was bought to our room each morning with a smile and good morning. Only thing I have against it...only small...is that I am a light sleeper and the street noise was just passing people but a times loud. Location is just central to everything..the pavilion....is just around the corner.. Would I stay here again....most definately... (With eye plugs to sleep) but I am an extremely light sleeper.

The Market Inn is a little hidden gem that serves some great beers and has a good choice of pub grub, always well made and fantastic value. We have been popping in, on an off, for years but The Market Inn is especially welcoming on the rainy days when the open fires are burning. The owner is always really nice and friendly.

This pub is in a great location and the pub is traditional and cozy. You will get a decent meal without any trimmings. I enjoyed my meal off the specials board although the burgers were disappointing. The manager responded quickly and positively when our order was delivered incomplete and I always commend establishments that react quickly in this way. Thank you

A welcome with a smile! Ordered drinks and not rushed to order our food. The Menu had a lot to choose from & a Special boards. The food arrived hot and it was delicious also very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back to this pub & also want to book a couple of nights stay here 😀

We’ve just got back from a lovely 3 night stay at The Market Inn! Our room was lovely (we’d recommend trying their full English brekkie, it’s amazing!) and the staff are so lovely, couldn’t do enough for us, so friendly and helpful! Thanks so much for having us, we can’t wait to return later in the year. Emma & Mike xxx

Slipped in late last night in search of a pint of real Ale. I had already had a lime soda at one establishment as they only had those drinks some call Larger beer. The Harvey’s was first rate. Really welcomed. Anyway the pub is a real English pub, historic but fully up to date with all the requirements to enable a safe drink in these Covid days. It was a fabulous evening so we sat outside but I can imagine hunkering down in this fine establishment on a cooler or winters day. They appear to offer a range of food but as we had already eaten we did not eat. I will revise and add more details but it seems like a pub worth putting on your list when visiting Brighton.

Walked into this historic “ royal bonking” pub for a quick half and found a wonderfully kept Tribute Pale Ale. Was tempted by the daily special which was Steak & Caramelised Onion sannie ( deliciously tender) with fries & my companion had a tuna sannie. It was great to be back in a beautiful English Pub

I had my 60th Birthday party here in July 2018. Had been in many times before and the owners and staff were always excellent. On my birthday party they excelled. If you want a party that includes 18 year old's to 80 years old have it at the Market Inn. Thanks Peter xx

What a lucky find this place was. Its in the heart of the action in Brighton and yt i slept like a log. The rroms are very oldie worlde,i stayed in the King George room which was spotlessly clean and spacious. Peter the owner was a great host as was the lady that sorted the breakfast in the morning which they bring directly to your toom at a requested time. The food was excellent too and really hit the spot. I cant speak too highly of this place it was a fantastic weekend spent with friends in Brighton made all the better from staying in this Pub.
