Looking at other reviews, what is there left to say? This one of the nicest places we have ever stayed in. We arrived hours before check-in time to see if there would be a parking space (there is room for only three cars). As there wasn't we asked if we could leave our luggage before leaving our car with my daughter. Carina (hope I've spelled that right) was most helpful and took everything in for us and let us put it in our room (and I found my dresses had been hung up for me on our return). We were shown the honesty bar (first drink on the house) and the little fridge with individually named bottles of milk for each room. Our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. There were home-made cookies in a jar and bottles of water each side of the bed, which was extremely comfortable and illustrated perfectly the description "crisp white sheets". There was also a beautiful marble wet room with fantastic shower. Our room looked out over the garden, which rises up the hillside and is full of wild flowers. We had two breakfasts, both of which were outstanding and included home smoked bacon, home made sausages and home made jam and marmalade, all of which were delicious. This is a unique place, and we hope to be back before too long.

We had a wonderful stay at The Old Rectory. The hotel is full of interesting arts and crafts and has a beautiful and peaceful garden at the back of the property. The staff really did their best to make our stay as comfortable and smooth running as possible, with one member (sorry, I don't know her name) even ringing the gardener to find out how they keep their grounds so slug free after my husband had expressed his curiosity.

A varied breakfast selection of home cured and smoked items, vegan or veggie options, homemade jams and cereals has inspired me to make my own bircher muesli. I was fascinated by the floral pattern on the walls in the dining room that has been hand painted by a local artist. Tempting treats were also on hand in the bedroom: sinful, buttery homemade biscuits were perfect with a cup of hot chocolate at the end of the day.

The parking is limited, as is the case in most of the old part of Hastings, but once again, the staff did their best to help get us squeezed in.

A wonderful but short stay, and looking forward to returning.

From the arrival pot of tea and home made cake to the beautiful rooms and relaxing garden where my book just begged to be read , this break was quality. Homemade biscuits daily, fresh milk for tea and an absolutely wonderful breakfast -possibly the best I have had on any holiday ( massive congratulations to the chef and staff for all the home smoked/made produce) put The Old Rectory up there as my favourite hotel ever. A map with personal information sheet and a well presented informational folder really helped us on our first visit to fabulous Hastings. I loved that our suitcases were taken to our room after a long journey too - little touches that shone. Gorgeous towels, shampoos and bath robes added to the thoughtfulness that exudes from this hotel. Lionel was so welcoming on our arrival and throughout and nothing was too much trouble for Natalie and all the staff. Thank you for our extra pots of tea ! I could go on and on … but a little bit of me wants to keep this wonderful place a secret … !
Never change The Old Rectory experience … Well done to you all .

Beautiful hotel with very kind staff. The breakfast was beautiful and all freshly cooked, with home made sausages, jams etc.

All the small details were not missed, like the Easter cornflake cakes and bunny chocolates in our room, subtle but stylish Easter decor, tea and cake upon arrival.

Our ‘Croft’ room was stunning with a lovely view of the garden and church.

Very reasonably priced for 1 night and would definitely stay again if we come to Hastings.

Only negative was parking is a bit of a pain if you can not squeeze on the drive way.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review Megan, we're so pleased you enjoyed your Easter treats! Our next project is finding a way to incorporate Hastings' pirate day into our room treats! We are unfortunately at the mercy of being based in a seaside town and therefore do struggle with parking, I'm glad we were able to find you a parking space on the driveway for your stay.

they old rectory is a fantastic please to spend time, we had such a lovely weekend in Hastings.

The food was fab, their Sunday lunch was very good. The vegan option and the meat options were a good size and very good value for money. Breakfast was delish and my kids who can be fussy eaters cleared their plates!

the rooms were all beautiful, very, very clean and the rooms had everything we needed, the team there really looked after us. The garden is stunning and the fish in the lovely big pond were great fun. The honesty bar was a fantastic touch and we sipped G&T's in the delightful lounge area.

Hastings its self has a lot of nice little shops, places to eat and of course amazing fish & Chips (Maggies!! amazing)

our stay was 10/10

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The staff were phenomenal and so accommodating. The young lad was so polite and extremely helpful. He gave us information on the local area and catered to our needs. He also works in the kitchen and cooks a fantastic breakfast. I was so impressed with him that I had to tip him at the end of the stay which is something I never really do. The lady that does the cooking and waitressing was also extremely friendly and really good at her job. The owners need to do everything they can to keep hold of them. We got a welcome drink on arrival and then was told we could help ourself to the drinks in the bar and we just had to write down what we’ve had. This level of trust just shows what this place is all about.

The facilities are really good, the room has a speaker which was good for us as we are a young couple who like a drink so it was ideal for a few drinks in the room before we went out. There’s also a fan which is useful if you get hot in be bed like me. The garden is stunning and there’s a table and chairs out there for chilling out on.

It’s not the cheapest place in Hastings but you do get your money’s worth with the quality and also what I would consider the best ever customer service I’ve ever experienced from their staff.

If I’m in the area I will be staying here.

My wife and I spent 3 lovely nights at The Old Rectory over the Easter weekend. Everything about the accommodation was just right for us, from the welcome cup of tea after a few hours on the road, to the comfort, peace and quiet of our room. The breakfasts were all lovely, freshly prepared with locally sourced produce and the location was great for a walk down into Hastings old town. Loved it - thank you so much.

Excellent, if you like shabby chic. It is genuinely an old rectory, next to the church, and very well located for exploring the old town. Our room (All Saints) was large and light, carpet on bare floorboards, with a roll-top bath. It faced the road at the front but there was no significant traffic noise at night. The common sitting room downstairs is large and nicely furnished, with an honesty bar. The garden at the back is surprisingly big, terraced and stuffed with flowers. Breakfast was excellent. Lionel and Natalie were extremely helpful.

This is a beautiful old house with a stunning garden right on the edge of the old town in Hastings. The house is decorated really tastefully, and every thought is given to your comfort. The rooms have lovely bedding, towels and toiletries, drinks are available in the lounge, and the highlight is the most beautiful garden, which you can enjoy throughout the day. The breakfast was delicious and the service was really good. I can’t wait to go back!

Stayed for the weekend with some friends. We had the All Saints suite, which was perfect for a group of three adults and very spacious. Breakfast was delicious and the honesty bar a nice touch. As someone with dietary limitations I really appreciated the oat milk in the room and the gluten free breakfast options.

Hi there There are no ground floor rooms. However on the first floor there is All Saints and Sinnock both of which have super-king size beds. There are two staircases in the Rectory. The flight to All Saints is much less steep and less steps than the ones to Sinnock. Hope this helps

The Old Rectory is very accommodating but I don’t remember any mention of twin beds. There is a two bedroom suite. Call the B&B and see what they say. The walk into the old town is five minutes and there are places to eat and drink there.
