Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Best place in Hastings and stayed there about 10 times now. Amazing views of the sea, rooms with Balconies are my favourite. Nice friendly staff, perfectly located, and I’ll be returning again this June like always. It also is right next door to Jali a fantastic Indian restaurant.

Perfect for what we needed. Close to the White Rock Theatre for a stay over in Hastings. Parking outside or on seafront. This is a no frills guest house at a reasonable price. There is a vending machine in the entrance area with drinks and snacks. The rooms are basic and very clean with tea/coffee facilities. The view from our room had a great sea view despite work being done with the scaffolding but we were pre warned on booking so not a problem. Reception staff were pleasant on arrival/departure.

Excellent location with good value covered parking nearby. Building interior tired and a bit dirty. Basic tired furnishings in the room. Unenthusiastic customer service on reception and after directing us up the stairs to our room we hauled our bags up 4 flights of stairs only to find there was actually a lift that she didn’t tell us about. Poor nights sleep because of relentless seagulls throughout the night, though this should be expected of a seaside town, the noise could perhaps be managed by better glazing? Would have rated higher if the price was more reflective of the establishment. As it was, not good value and wouldn’t stay again.

Very low quality room, no lift which was not ideal as we were located on the top floor. Very low quality beds and decor was old and tired. Very small tv that didn't work. Would not recommend. Only good thing was the sea views.

Have stayed in this hotel in the past and it seems to have had some work done on it as we were given a room had used before and it was nicely decorated with adequate furniture nice and spacious Tv worked ,hot water no problems. Amazing sea view which is a great attraction so had a pleasant surprise. Down side both beds [had twins} were clean and nice covers but the mattresses awful and need replacing. Mine was like lying on a bag of pebbles. There was no plug in the sink we did not report as we thought the room cleaner would. As only two nights and the shower worked it was not a big deal for a short time. New lights in the room and very stylish ones too including the bedside but the bed side ones especially so soft it was difficult to read by them. I think also ,but I may be muddled by else where ,on our other stays there was a mini fridge again not a big problem for us to be without. One of the windows does' not close properly still, so could be draughty and very cold in winter. The lift had been fixed a bonus as the room 25 is on the 4th floor but is now a one person only lift. Very small so if you are claustrophobic could be a problem. All sounds a big moan it is not we did have a pleasant stay and would go back.

From the reviews I approached this place with a bit of concern. Some of the booking sites show this as a 4-star hotel, which it is definitely not. However the location is excellent, smack in the middle of Hastings. And the room itself was not bad. The good aspects: The room we got on the 1st floor was renovated, and decent enough for a one night stay. No sea view from our room but we had a bit of 'city view' from the window, and it was quiet at the rear as there is no traffic. I couldn't find anything resembling a bar (in spite of the website claiming there is one). So not all that much atmosphere at the hotel itself. I don't think anything like breakfast is served currently. While there is a lounge, it is located right next to the front desk, so not a place you'd really hang out. None of the people working at the hotel are from the UK. It would be nice to have someone local who has a bit of local knowledge. Overall this hotels is more like a two star and distinguished by being right in the centre and walkable to a lot of things. Btw. there is free parking from 18:00 - 09:00, M-Sun, but beware - it is expensive during the day:, starting at 9am it is £3 per hour, with a 2 hour limit. There is an underground self-pay parking garage right in front of the hotel where can pay something like £8.40 for the whole day I believe, or you can park on the seafront for £1.20 hr with a 4 hr. max.

Had a fantastic stay in this beautiful hotel. The location is fantastic - amazing views of the sea and the Western Lawns. The staff were polite, helpful and attentive and the food was superb. The hotel has been stylishly and tastefully decorated and manages to be both relaxing and elegant. All in all an amazing hotel and can't wait to go back again!
