Last minute booking, loved it! Great welcome, so accommodating. Room so welcoming, spacious and comfortable and bathroom fabulous! Slept really well and then woke to gorgeous views of the South Downs and delicious breakfast. Highly recommend and will be back - thank you Jo and Richard, y gracias Marina!

When booking you the process was easy and friendly checking any individual needs. In our case these are accommodated without fuss. The place is in the old part of the town where there is limited on street parking, though there is a pay and display about 50 metres down the road. There are no charges outside the usual hours. I stayed at the Orchard whilst I was working at a conference at The University of East Sussex. Travel between the two was simple and efficient. When I walked through the door it felt like the word went away. Peaceful, extremely generous room with a very comfortable bed and a gorgeous roll top bath. Automated lighted systems and then to... Me and my partner stayed 2 nights in August 2016 on our tour of SE England. This was probably the nicest, cleanest (I am a real stickler for a clean room!) and friendliest guest houses we stayed at. It is really nicely located and is a beautiful property. As others have said, it is furnished very tastefully, rustic and modern... More

3 of us styed here for a long weekend during the Love Supreme festival and we found our hosts very accommodating and very much into the detail whne it comes to running a B&B. The room is great , large and with a treetop view over the countryside. Being a traffic noise freak I slept like a baby in the... More

I really like this place. The room is sunny, spacious and tastefully furnished - no typical B&B fussy chintzy tweeness. You just feel immediately relaxed and at home (though it's much cleaner than my home). Eating breakfast (lovely mixed fresh fruit and yoghourt and croissants and home-made bread and lashings of honey and jam) at the old oak table in... More

We stayed for a night whilst walking on the south downs way. The stay was booked at very late notice so we were very grateful for the excellent service we received. The room was lovely; clean, comfortable and with a lovely bath which was perfect at the end of a long day's walk. The location is great with a few... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights in early June. The room really is luxurious with a incredibly comfy bed and a fantastic bath! It was our first time in Lewes and the hosts Jo and Richard were unbelievably helpful pointing out where to visit in the vicinity. The breakfast was also really good. Would stay there again if... When we arrived the very friendly Aupair welcomed us and took us to our big room, which was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was just huge with a big shower and a bathtub. We also had a great view of the downs out of the window. For a first coffee or tea with biscuits we had everything in our... More

Rich and Jo are the perfect hosts. They made us feel welcome and were always available to give information, assistance and advice. The room was large and comfortable with a large and bright en-suite bathroom. We got a substantial vegetarian breakfast with fruits, muesli, home-baked bread, orange juice and coffee. There are many pubs and restaurants nearby and it's not... More
