Had a midweek lunch last week (Nov 2016) for the first time since being refurbished - the pub, not us!. The good things were: ease of parking, friendly efficient staff, beer. The not quite so good things were: a limited menu; the curry I had was tasteless with nil spice, many food items were more expensive than many other local...

went for a walk. though we'd pop in for some baguettes. staff were very good, wasn't busy so got a table and a high chair. food was good. only a few bad points. The plates were to small for baguette and the worst thing. they keep there tomatoe sauce in the fridge!! sacrilege!

The anchor inn, what can I say, I had high expectations so brought my mum for her birthday...very disappointing!! our mains came before our starters which resulted in our mains sitting under a hotplate whilst we attempted our starters. Frozen calamari, garlic mushrooms (minus the garlic) and covered in a greasy cream and butter sauce. Staff hovering to take the...

Came to go boating which was great with the kids. Stayed to order a plate of chips. After 1 hour, it still had't arrived. If it is going to take that long - it doesn't hurt to explain there is a long wait on food!

Fabulous location. For lunch on a sunny summers day arrive early. We prefer winter visits. Roasts are really good especially the Lamb, but they never seem to do roast chicken. They have a Helly Pad next door, but we haven't needed to use it yet :]

I was here to photograph a wedding. As most of the event happened in a marquee in the field at the back it is hard to evaluate the inn in all respects, but what we saw was good. Location: at the end of a mile and a half of cul-de-sac, right by the river Ouse. Boating available. Ambience: traditional large...

My wife and met good friends at this pub, the drive there is a bit hairy down a long and winding road with many blind corners but we all got there safely. The pub is very pretty and the main attraction is because its on the banks of the river Ouse and boats can be hired for £6 PP for...

Firstly if you going just for boating, then do it's a lovely paddle. The two young guys was very polite and helpful. This is where all the customer service stops. We ordered 6 baguettes which we was told there would be a wait up to 40 mins, which was fine as it was busy. After an hour my wife returned...

we came to the anchor to go on the boats on the weekend, and found that it was very busy . A charming young lad served us and was happy to answer the questions we had about the river and history of the pub , after a very relaxing time on the river, my wife and I decided to have...
