My partner and I have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions. It offers great service with really nice rooms and extremely friendly staff. We have returned on a number of occasions and will continue to do so. The views are also really beautiful. The manager on duty has always given us his very best. Great place to...

Once you have wound your way up the cobble streets, you reach a lookout over the river and beyond. Conveniently placed to make the most of this view, is the hotel. We stopped for a quick drink in the tiny bar and enjoyed the views and the old photos of Rye. Lovely hotel that is well-maintained with friendly service.

Miserable weather outside, beautifully warm inside. A good sized room overlooking the river, friendly staff and good food. Lovely thick duvets on the bed, plenty of heating in the room. And very good value for the cost.

We stayed in the Hidden treasure cottage and loved having our own lounge and mini kitchenette. Breakfast was excellent in main dining room. All staff friendly and efficient. Great location in heart of old town.

A little difficult to find (Google or Apple maps will help) & tucked up in the medieval part of the Rye township, this little hotel was a great place to spend 3 nights. The staff were excellent & helpful. Excellent value for money. Rooms clean & the beds, pillows & doonah were fantastic! Good hot water temperature & pressure. Friendly...

Recent weekend stay at this hotel, we stayed in what could have been a lovely room overlooking the river. Sadly this hotel and its rooms are very tired,I think for the price this really does need attention. Plaster and paper hanging off walls and ceilings. Tired and dated furniture, which really didn't suit the hotel image. This hotel needs a...

Stayed here having booked 2 nights B&B through TravelZoo and what a great deal this turned out to be. The hotel location makes it ideal for walking to the many pubs and restaurants in Rye with free parking directly outside. Our room the 'Crows Nest' on the top floor was nothing less than first class offering a very cosy room...

Bit hard to find due to the one way system in Rye, our sat hav gave up a couple of streets away so we were very glad we had printed out a street map! Really good food and service with a great location.

Warm and friendly place at the end of a beautiful cobbled road with easy walking access into Rye. Very quaint and comfortable. Staff all helpful and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable with good views. Location was great for exploring all the little nooks and crannies in Rye, there are many little passageways and cuttings to find.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Although famous for its past, the Hope Anchor is known locally for its stunning views across the Quayside, Romney Marshes, Camber Castle and beyond to the sea. Most of our rooms enjoy these panoramic views and to be honest they need to be seen to be believed. Although beautiful all year round the sunsets in summer bring locals young and old to enjoy alfresco dining accompanied of course with a glass or two of wine! ... more   less
