Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a wonderful stay at Saltmarsh Farm. The host, Emma, was wonderful , extremely kind and helpful to make our stay delightful. The room was very cosy, we were greeted with flowers and a lovely card. The room waa of good size, and the bed was comfortable. As for the location it couldn’t have been more convenient. Our breakfast and lunch were generous & tasty + they have been very careful with food allergies. What a beautiful place we ll definitely come back to :)

We loved our time at Saltmarsh. It’s a quaint and cozy B and B with well appointed rooms that are cozy, bright and very clean. Fabulous gardens. Breakfasts were perfect and unrushed which worked well for us. Staff was excellent and always helpful. Convenient to park visitor center and cafe. We enjoyed the 2.5 (RT) mile hike to see Seven Sisters and later drive up to Beachy Head. Gorgeous area!

This is a wonderfully relaxing, homely place which has a beautiful garden, with many hidden spaces where you can listen to and watch the birds and the bees! There is a great choice for breakfast, which is very well cooked and presented. Emma and her team (and her beautiful Portguese Water dogs) gave us a very warm welcome.

I loved everything about our 2 bedroom two bathroom suite in the part of the farmhouse that was built in the 1500s. The bedding is fabulous. The twin beds in the second bedroom are narrow and a bit on the short side. But neither of these detracted from the comfortable, cozy sleeps we had in our three night stay. The service is warm and attentive. The staff is very helpful. The location for walking the Downs is superb. There are bus stops out front with buses going by every 15 minutes or so in both directions. The food in the cafe is good.

We had a great weekend staying at Saltmarsh Farmhouse. Emma is an excellent host, ready to help with local knowledge, taxis etc. Out room (Seaview) was very comfortable with good quality extras. Breakfast delicious - and great coffee! Loads to do locally, and public transport very convenient. Hope to be back again soon. Hilary

Saltmarsh Farmhouse is a beautiful guesthouse with the most stunning views. My partner and I enjoyed an overnight stay in the Sea Breeze room. The room istself was charming with a very comfortable bed, everything we needed and spectacular views. The staff are exceptional and always on hand for anything you may require. The breakfast was delicious with a fabulous range of choice. We didn't use the cafe but the cakes and pastries on offer looked scrumptious, we will be certain to return to sample them. Thank you very much to Emma, Holly and the the team for the most enjoyable stay.

Stunning, 5-bedroom Boutique B&B within sight of the sea on the edge of the Cuckmere Valley in the South Downs National Park. The new owner Emma and her staff were so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. It was a perfect setting for friends and family to stay the night, before we invited 24 guests to a splendid Buffet Lunch the next day outside on the terrace of their large private garden. There are several good local walks nearby including a flat stroll down to the sea at the Seven Sisters beach and also a local Activity Centre offering a range of water activities. We would highly recommend this venue. It had everything we wished for. Simply Superb! John & Gail B.
