Second time we have stayed here and once again faultless for everything. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was spotlessly clean and smelt fresh, the breakfast was more than enough. Fantastic place to stay will certainly be visiting again and recommending to friends and family!

Overall the stay was fine. The room was clean and some of the staff were really friendly and helpful. The downside was the loud music coming from the pub below, coming through the floor until midnight. We tried to speak to the manager but she wasn't very helpful. Would recommend as the room itself was fine but just disappointed by...

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. From the moment we walked through the door until we left the service from the staff was faultless. The room was quite large & well presented with an updated bathroom. We even had a fridge. Bed itself was very comfortable. We had breakfast and evening meals there each day. There are usually different...

Excellent comfortable room, clean and with a sea view. Mine had a fridge with water and fresh milk, not UHT- a really nice touch. Bar was very well stocked and the staff were lovely. Breakfast had tables ready for everyone, with your name on a small chalkboard at each table. The food was excellent, as was the coffee. Parking on...

We spent one night in this lovely little pub/bed and breakfast. We found the rooms to be clean, well appointed and the bed and pillows were the best we have ever slept in in a bed and breakfast, slept like a baby! It is only a small bed and breakfast with only about 4 rooms I believe but we had...

A good real ale pub, with good pub food, nightly special offers and decent accommodation. We used this hotel in 2013 and enjoyed it then. It is just as good now. Polite, cheery & friendly staff. Comfortable room. Enjoyed the bar and used the restaurant on two evenings. Very pleasant and good value. Breakfast was better than many 5 star...

We were visiting the Love Supreme Jazz Festival in Lewes for the day and were looking for a hotel so that we could spend the day after the event enjoying the seaside! Having visited Seaford before this was the town we chose. The Wellington showed up on the search engine, was in the right location at the right price and...

We stayed at this hotel/pub/grill as we had exhausted places to stay in Lewes that were good and reasonable priced. I searched the internet and came across The Wellington and so glad I did. Our room had everything you would expect from a first class hotel, tea, coffee, hairdryer, complimentary bottles of water, iron & ironing board, all bathroom extras,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Wellington is a traditional pub with 4 rooms offering comfortable bed & breakfast accommodation combined with an atmospheric bar and an excellent dining experience. The Wellington is centrally located in Seaford, close to the sea and makes an excellent base for exploring East Sussex. ** Please note: The Wellington does not have its own car park, but there are however 2 car parks located close by and street parking right outside ** The town of Seaford is a quiet seaside resort in East Sussex, U. K. It is located on the foot of the South Downs, a range of hills stretching from Winchester to Eastbourne. It is a great place to have a break. These days the town is sometimes overshadowed by nearby Newhaven, as one of the main ports on the South Coast. During the middle ages, however, the main port was Seaford. The town gained its importance as the mouth of the river Ouse, but this importance was not to last. The river suffered from silting, which made traffic difficult, and the town also suffered from repeated attacks by French pirates. The town was repeatedly burned down and rebuilt in the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. In those days the locals had a reputation for looting and causing shipwrecks. For many, the main attraction in Seaford is the beach. This has an obvious attraction in the summer, when the sea reaches temperatures up to 20 degrees Celsius. But the sea is equally attractive in the winter. The town has a shopping centre, with enough shops to spend a good afternoon looking around. If shopping is a must, both Eastbourne and Brighton are about half hour away on either side of the town. For the out-and-abouts there is plenty of hills to get on with, as we are situated at the foot of a hill range called the South Downs. The Seven Sisters Country Park is just around the corner, and so is the famous Long Man of Wilmington, a massive feature carved out in the rocks. ... more   less
