I had the pleasure of attending an amazing champagne lunch, booked by my family as a treat. The food was glorious and the attentive service was second to none. The rooms are sumptuous and beautifully decorated. Beautiful, quiet and scenic. Maison Talbooth is a somewhat hidden gem. I would highly recommend lunch/dinner or an overnight stay.

We stayed just one night as we were wedding food tasting at Le Talbooth down the road. We had our dog with us and they very kindly allowed us to check in early so we could settle her before being driven down in their Range Rover (and collected) to the restaurant. We stayed in Keats and could not believe the...

Stayed for 1 night on the 'Month of Romance' package. From start to finish our experience was faultless, beautiful hotel, great facilities including the stunning pool house where we spent a very chilled few hours, amazingly friendly & professional staff & some of the best food we have ever eaten at La Talbooth. Such a great vibe to the place,...

I needed a work stop over at the last minute and was booked into a Deluxe Room. It was absolutely stunning and the staff are so helpful. It was luxurious and the food and room facilities are second to none. I felt like I was away on a relaxing break not a work night. I had an excellent nights sleep...

We booked two rooms as two couples and were allocated rooms on the to floor next door to one another. My husband and I were delighted with our beautiful room and GORGEOUS bathroom. Our friends had a bigger equally lovely room with a very useful table and four extremely comfortable armchairs - perfect for a chat over after dinner coffee....

Having visited Southwold for a couple of days my husband and I decided to stay here for a night before returning home. The last time we were here was on our honeymoon 17 years ago. It was a perfect destination then and I am pleased to say it still exceeds our expectations. The hotel has been tastefully modernised since our...

Enjoyed another lovely stay at Maison Talbooth. With a half price January offer it would have been rude not to pay this lovely hotel another visit. We stayed in the Principal Keats suite, a very grand and impressive room on the ground floor. La Talbooth was being refitted so we dined in the hotel. The food was pretty faultless and...

Ok, so I'll be honest from the outset, we didn't eat here. I booked the night before for a sexy break away with the other half. The superior room with breakfast in Jan was £200 pn which I found quite steep but I didn't really care. I can tell you now it's worth every penny. So, a frosty January. A...

I booked with Evan the general manager by phone. He recommended the Betjeman suite. I queried whether this had sloping ceilings as some of the website photographs. He said yes, but no problem except if you're well over 6 feet tall. I'm not! The bed is positioned in the centre of the room, a case of interior design style over...

Brilliant, well worth the money. We arrived at 1am and staff were waiting to show us to our room. The Shakespeare room was lovely, although the light fittings were a little bit irritating as this twinkled like a wind chime through the night from the draft of the radiators, but bed nice and comfy and black out curtains great. Ordered...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
When Maison Talbooth opened 40 years ago, it did so with a huge amount of publicity andit certainly had the WOW factor. At that time, there were very few quality hotels in the country, hardly any en–suite bathrooms and certainly no televisions in the rooms. We have since added 3 fabulous new bedrooms, the Garden Room restaurant, a swimming pool (open all year and heated to a sizzling 30 deg) with outside hot tub, pool house and tennis court.During your stay with us, be sure to book in for a relaxing massage, facial, manicure, or range of other treatments, in our Day Spa. A highlight of your stay will be lunch or dinner at Le Talbooth restaurant, a minute away by courtesy car. ... more   less
