Ok, so I'll be honest from the outset, we didn't eat here. I booked the night before for a sexy break away with the other half. The superior room with breakfast in Jan was £200 pn which I found quite steep but I didn't really care. I can tell you now it's worth every penny. So, a frosty January. A...

I booked with Evan the general manager by phone. He recommended the Betjeman suite. I queried whether this had sloping ceilings as some of the website photographs. He said yes, but no problem except if you're well over 6 feet tall. I'm not! The bed is positioned in the centre of the room, a case of interior design style over...

Brilliant, well worth the money. We arrived at 1am and staff were waiting to show us to our room. The Shakespeare room was lovely, although the light fittings were a little bit irritating as this twinkled like a wind chime through the night from the draft of the radiators, but bed nice and comfy and black out curtains great. Ordered...

Booked here last Sunday for afternoon for 10 ladies. Took a while for them to take our order and the table was a bit too big (being picky) but lovely grounds. This is the second time once last year in the summer and the other day. Much preferred the summer visit as we sat outside and much more enjoyable. Wide...

We purchased the Gourmet getaway deal for my mother in law as a treat for her birthday. This included overnight stay, 3 course meal, glass of champagne and courtesy Bentley to Le Talbooth restaurant. Overall, the stay was ok, very quiet and had to find staff a couple of times. We were disappointed that it wasn't a Bentley transporting us,...

We had a pleasant time during our visit - on arrival there was a lovely big choice of teas to choose from, we weren't offered any refills though throughout our visit, which was a bit disappointing for £20. The scones were delicious, the little cakes were enjoyable but nothing out of the ordinary. It was a pleasant experience and the...

We have been to the Talbooth a few times, it's usually very good but probably over priced for what it is. The atmosphere is quite nice but best in the summer outside, staff are particular attentive but I would expect more variety and better food all round for the price. Nice to go, worth a try but not a must.

This was our 3rd time to Maison Talbooth and we were not disappointed, we stayed in the Browning! Very comfortable with a large bathroom and everything was to s high standard especially the thick pile carpet. We dined at Le Talbooth in the evening chauffeured in a Range Rover there and back, amazing meal with a complimentary gateaux for my...

Last year we visited Georges V hotel in Paris.......... as you would expect very nice indeed. The weekend spent relaxing at Maison Talbooth, including afternoon tea and swim in the very warm, outside pool situated in a secluded area complete with natural log burning fire followed by a short drive in a new Bentley, courtesy of the group, to Le...

We stayed, just for one night, in Brooke. Billed as the smallest room, we were surprised to find that it was spacious enough for anyone's needs! With a very comfortable King Sized bed and fluffy pillows, we had a really good night's sleep. The decor is very interesting and the room is full of character. The bathroom is massive The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
When Maison Talbooth opened 40 years ago, it did so with a huge amount of publicity andit certainly had the WOW factor. At that time, there were very few quality hotels in the country, hardly any en–suite bathrooms and certainly no televisions in the rooms. We have since added 3 fabulous new bedrooms, the Garden Room restaurant, a swimming pool (open all year and heated to a sizzling 30 deg) with outside hot tub, pool house and tennis court.During your stay with us, be sure to book in for a relaxing massage, facial, manicure, or range of other treatments, in our Day Spa. A highlight of your stay will be lunch or dinner at Le Talbooth restaurant, a minute away by courtesy car. ... more   less
