Just stayed for 2 nights, this being our 2nd visit and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. Breakfast was great and we had dinner on our first night which was absolutely delicious. We had a pre-dinner drink in the lovely lounge, while we looked at the menu, and also after dinner drinks in the lounge where we met some of the painters who were staying there on a painting course, very interesting and friendly people. Must give a big ‘thank you’ to Freddie who looked after us at dinner and at breakfast, a lovely boy very polite and nothing too much trouble. A credit to the place. Lovely talking to Jim and Wendy whilst we were there, Wendy does a great job of looking after her beautiful gardens. Just a few minutes walk into Dedham village and a lovely walk across fields and along the river to Flatford. Thanks Wendy, Jim and Freddie and we will definitely be back and hoping to bring some friends with us next time! Teresa & Keith

This is our second stay at Dedham Hall. We really love it there. It is a beautiful historic building, kept beautifully clean and tidy. Our bed was amazingly comfortable and even our daughters put up bed was comfy. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. There was a very conscientious young lady serving breakfast, nothing is too much trouble.
We will be returning soon
Thankyou

If you are looking for a hotel with receptionist, manicured lawns, modern deco then this is not for you. However, if like us you love the manoirs of France then this is definitely for you. Lovely character reception rooms, spacious bedrooms, extensive cottage gardens, fantastic evening meals with great choices.
We stayed in one of the four character bedrooms in the main house. The other 16 bedrooms are in other buildings on the site and are used by those attending the residential painting courses. This means the dining room is occupied predominantly by those on the courses but the owners are sensitive to this & we had pre-dinner nibbles & later coffee served in the separate lounge.

Had a 3 night stay at Dedham Hall in late September. It's a lovely "rambling" house with lots of character, with various lounges and 2 different entrances, so for the first day or so you never quite know which way is the dining room and which way to the stairs - just the sort of place we like.
The bedroom was large and comfortable and we slept well. The cooked breakfast was very good, plus there was a nice selection of fruit and yoghurt to start.
We ate evening meal there twice, enjoying drinks and nibbles in the lounge beforehand in front of a log fire.
All in all a very enjoyable stay in "Constable Country", with Flatford Mill a 45 minute walk away along the River Stour.

Very charming place! I went to Dedham Hall for a one week watercolor workshop and had just the most wonderful time. The atmosphere was phenomenal - Wendy, Jim and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, they know how to make the guests feel special! The food was delicious, room very clean and comfortable. I will definitely be coming back!

Dear Trippers - I hesitate to share this with you in case I can’t get in when I absolutely MUST go back! One night was definitely not enough for my friend and I who felt immediately ‘at home’ in this relaxed and charming location. Our host Wendy is the most modest Wonder Woman I have ever met. Someone who makes the challenges of guests look easy. Catering for artists and the less talented of us who just appreciate art, delicious dishes and aromas waft from her large yet cosy kitchen. And it’s a multigenerational family affair, where well mannered teenagers (a rare species) help out too. This ancient beamed house could tell some tales and to know some of its secrets would be fascinating to know, the bluebell/ forget me not garden with rambling scented roses are just heavenly. Comfortable, clean, tastefully decorated in keeping with its time, Wendy, her husband and charming family of helpers left us wishing we lived there too.

Loved every moment…tea and brownies in the beautiful garden on arrival , pre dinner nibbles in the lounge, lovely dinner and breakfasts, walks straight from the hotel across to flatford mills. Character everywhere from the stunning Manor House, the various gardens with lots of places to relax to the owners and staff. Can’t wait to visit again. Thank you .

By far one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. It ranks as high as The Seaside Boarding House in Dorset in terms of comfort, welcome, food and value. The hosts could not have been nicer and the breakfast and dinner were exactly as one would hope. The house itself is beautifully arranged with lovely gardens and views. I will certainly be going again and would strongly recommend it. As a bonus for any budding artists out there they run residential art courses in painting and so on which would be a joy in the middle of Constable and Munnings country,

Such a relaxing break and breakfast was truly wonderful. Trampoline, chickens & rope swing in the garden were a lovely surprise for the kids. We had the Porker rooms which meant we had a separate part away from the house. This was great with Covid still around. We felt very safe & comfortable & the rooms were spotless. Great location too with the walk to Flatford mill just next to the accommodation. We will definitely be back 😊
