Beaumont House is 14 bedroom guesthouse with off-street parking charged at £5/night. It was the home of the Read family in the 1880's. On the 27th October 1884 Anketell Moutray Read was born in Beaumont House, the youngest son of Colonel John Moutray Read. Anketell Read was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in The Gloucestershire Regiment on 21st November 1903. He served in India. He was 30 years old, and a Captain in the 1st Battalion, The Northamptonshire Regiment, British Army during the First World War when the following deed took place for which he was awarded the Victoria Cross. This is the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Beaumont House was later owned by the Tilley family, who ran a large muffin bakery in the town. The tiled floor in the reception area was restored in the 1980's, after the recovering discarded tiles from the same period when an adjacent house was being renovated. During the 1980s, Beaumont House was converted into a guest house and it has undergone extensive renovation. It is now owned by Fiona Burke, an Irish businesswoman from Dublin. The hotel operates in a very modern way via a self check-in kiosk, with a duty manager contactable at all times. Smartphone check-in is also available via the TLJ Security app. We don't offer a breakfast service, but do provide complimentary cereal bars, juice and takeaway tea or coffee- super simple and very tasty! We have our own private carpark (there is a parking space for every guest bedroom at £5/night) and two 22KW charging points suitable for all makes and model of car. Guests pay for charging via the EO Charging app (the QR code is located on the charger).

Beautiful beautiful beautiful hotel. My room was on top floor at the front. Super large room and big ensuite. Both impeccably clean. Great having a mini fridge. Common areas are equally as beautiful. I especially loved the lounge area with the comfy chairs. Self check-in was easy. Car parking at front of hotel was a definite plus. Cannot find any fault. If I ever get back to this beautiful country, will definitely stay again

My daughter and I made a last minute, single night booking booking for a Saturday night, to avoid having to make a three and a half hour trip down to Cheltenham and back again in the same day. Now that we have stayed there, I wish we'd had longer. The hotel is lovely, very clean, very warm, and very welcoming (even though we arrived late and everything is self serve). It is wonderfully easy to check yourself in, there is a well stocked small bar area where you can grab a very affordable drink and relaxing lounge and dining area. The room was the last one left and was offered as a small double, but it was thoughtfully laid out so that we had plenty of room to store our clothes and bags and the room had an iron and ironing board, hairdryer, lots of complementary teas.coffee, toiletries and good hangers and hanging space. It was very clean and comfortable. The bed and pillows were fabulous - just right! It is a self service hotel but this is very clear in the description and I liked the easy to use self check in - no worrying about disturbing anyone if you are late or being locked out, it is easy and quiet to use. They don't offer breakfast service but the grab and go coffee and muffins and cereal bars in the morning are a nice touch and I'd be very happy to stay here again.…

I stayed at Beaumont House for two nights with two friends and had a great experience. The room was very impressive - large for three people with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with lovely decoration and very clean. The location is the hotel is great - a close walk to the centre of Cheltenham and very close to a street of cafes / shops. We liked the laid-back feel of the self-service and honesty bar (which was very good value). Would definitely stay again!

Thank you Phoebe for the lovely review. The Luxury Large Double is one of the most popular suites at Beaumont House as it suits an array of guests, from the single business traveller to families and small groups of friends. The microwave and fridge especially appeal to longer stay guests. A mobile aircon unit and fan is also supplied. We look forward to hosting you in the future! Many thanks again for your visit.

We stayed here for 2 nights and can only say positive things. The room was spotlessly clean and great value for money. Location was ideal for us, a nice stroll into Montpellier and the town centre. Also some nice bars and cafes nearby. Breakfast bars and coffee were a very welcome treat and gratefully received. All in all a great stay and we would certainly return.

we just had the one night and were very happy with the cosy basement room with a good shower, the whole place was v clean and well looked after. No breakfast but that's not a problem with so many cafes in easy walking distance. Also easy to walk into the centre of Cheltenham.

Thank you William for your review. Our Standard Double rooms on the lower ground floor are very popular with guests as they are well priced and roomy enough for short stays. With Karndean flooring, double glazed sash windows, Smart TV and walk in shower, we find people are very happy with this room category!

We stayed for two nights in The Studio. Everything was good - apartment was spotlessly clean and it had everything needed for our stay. I quite liked the automated check-in - if this is the future for hotels then I don’t see any problem with that. A vey happy experience staying at Beaumont House.

Beautiful house in a great location to explore Cheltenham. Our room (15) couldn’t have been comfier, spotless, well equipped and quiet. There appeared to be plenty of parking for the number of rooms. Shame there wasn’t the opportunity to have a cooked breakfast but I think this lack of option is reflected in the price.

Difficult to review because are no services, maybe this is going to be the future of many more hotels and guest houses. Staff difficult to recruit so there’s no receptionist, no proper breakfast service and no one to help with cases up to the second floor, in fact no staff at all bar the morning cleaners. Poor quality furniture in the public rooms are a mismatch with the Handsome Regency house. Instant coffee, tea bags, a kettle and cereal bars are left out in the dinning room with PLASTIC cups! Why a 4 star review then? The room (15) on the second floor was faultless, lovely new bathroom, very warm and a comfortable 6ft bed. Huge TV and wonderful views of Leckhampton Hill (covered in snow this morning). My daughter’s room in the basement was equally clean and comfortable.

Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel and to provide your opinion of the room. As you have spotted, our rooms are excellently decorated and perhaps more importantly, sparkling clean due to our fantastic inhouse team of hotel assistants. We are constantly investing in the building and its rooms to ensure the best possible stay for guests. We provide complimentary tea, coffee bags, hot chocolate and juice for guests in the dining room along with cereal bars and muffins. There is also a water cooler with recyclable plastic cups (the hotel has a large recycling bin which is emptied weekly by Grundon and we take the environment very seriously). Our furniture is quality furniture from a range of local suppliers and online companies - we are sorry you didn't like the style but our clientele are always happy with the communal rooms. We have a slick check-in system - you can either retrieve your room keycard from our touchscreen kiosk or use the TLJ Security app for contactless entry. Guests absolutely love the simplicity of the entry system. For breakfast, we are moments from Bath Road where we hope you might have supported our fabulous local coffee shops and eateries.

Lovely hotel. High quality furnishing and fittings. Spotlessly clean. Lovely bedding etc. I was a bit wary of booking as it does not do meals or have a person on the reception but I need not have worried. The quality of the room was absolutely fantastic and I managed to organise a takeaway . Although they don’t do breakfast they have thoughtfully set up a coffee station with breakfast muffins. There is also parking.

Thank you very much for this review. Though we operate a self check in system, we do have a duty manager on hand should there be any queries. And being minutes from Bath Road, guests are spoilt for choice for breakfast and dinner options. Or if you feel like a walk, we are only 15 minutes from Montpellier and its excellent restaurants.

I have stayed in a range of hotels and guesthouses in Cheltenham; my pre-Christmas stay at Beaumont House Hotel blew me away in terms of comfort, price and location (just 5 minute's walk from the delights of the Bath Rd) We stayed in their huge "Out of Africa" room for two nights just after the snow. It was toasty! They have proper toweling bathrobes to slide into after a soak in the whirlpool bath, a comfy sofa under the large TV as well as all the creature comforts you would find in a 5 star hotel suite. And yet we stayed for £98 per night! plus £5 parking! There is a large Dining Room but no restaurant however you are welcome to enjoy a takeaway using proper plates and cutlery. The lounge has a well-stocked "honesty bar". The large garden was under snow when we stayed. I imagine it would be delightful in the summer. The aren't any onsite staff just an electronic entry system and a telephone that connects with a duty manager who presumably is looking after the rest of the groups properties. Check-out is 11:30 so no rush in the morning. They offer complimentary tea, coffee, muffins and energy bars for breakfast for those who haven't booked a table at 'The Curious Cafe" 6-7 mins walk away.…

Thank you so much for the detailed review - what a perfect summary of the hotel! I am delighted you enjoyed your stay in the our very stunning Out of Africa suite. As mentioned, though we operate a self check-in system, we do have a duty manager available should guests have any issues at any point in their stay. We are a family owned business with just one hotel - we focus all of our energy in creating beautifully decorated and comfortable rooms. We hope to see you again in the future!
