It had been some time since my last visit to Cheltenham and The Abbey Hotel. Too long. A very enjoyable stay to enjoy the build up to Christmas. Room 4 for me on this trip. A very friendly welcome. Warm, comfy room. Lovely breakfast with stewed fruits, Yeo Valley honey yoghurt, and then sweet tasty oven-roasted tomatoes, poached eggs, granary...

We chose The Abbey Hotel after reviewing others in the area and how pleased we were, the warmest friendly welcome awaited us, nothing was too much trouble, the fact that we arrived early was not a problem as our room was ready.....Parking was simple as was advised when we booked... Room was 1st Class warm and cosy and very clean,...

We have stayed at this fantastic family run hotel 3 times- October 2012, April 2016 and July 2016. The rooms are superb, the service second to none and the breakfast exceptional. Highly recommend to all looking for a pleasant break. Many thanks for wonderful stays at your lovely hotel, Sophie and Greg, we will definately return.

What a lovely place!! Spotlessly clean and the room we had was very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was very tasty. You had a choice from the menu - full cooked breakfast, porridge and lots of choice in between. Greg and Sophie and the other staff were very helpful and kind. Couldn't really find fault expect wish breakfast could have...

We had a double room with ensuite bathroom. Room not huge but sufficient space for our things. The room had a table and two chairs and well-stocked tea/coffee/milk/biscuits tray. Strong shower, though if you are large you'll find the shower cubicle a tight fit. Very comfortable bed. Good wifi. Lovely fresh-cooked breakfast, with plenty of choices. Location close to town...

Stayed here on a short business trip, one night only. On the plus side, very central location, very clean, OK breakfast and good wireless. On the minus side dated decor, not very comfortable beds and the room we had smelled of damp. Noisy in the morning due to traffic of people going to work. Also 'mine host' was quite rude...

Dear Stiffado, I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay at The Abbey, and especially that you found us rude and dismissive. We try very hard to help and assist our guests and I suspect there was a missunderstanding for which I apologise.

Having read other positive reviews, I chose the Abbey B&B for a break (2 nights) in Cheltenham. The Abbey is centrally located, with the town centre and Montpelier district both within 10 minutes' walk. The double room was spacious and clean, with ensuite facilities (shower, no bathtub, but perfectly adequate). As well as the comfy double bed the room included...

Stayed for 2 nights end September. Neat and well maintained B&B. Caretaker works hard to ensure customer satisfaction. But the rooms are tiny and the double bed in our room, put down as a Queen Bed, was really small and therefore very uncomfortable. In that sense, the rates charged are equal to London! Very nice breakfast.Wifi works. Also very well located...

Husband had business in Cheltenham and made the most of this to stay over and visit relatives in nearby Hereford. Warm welcome when we checked in and place conveniently located to both shopping and restaurants. Breakfast was faultless and on the first morning when my husband was at work and could not make breakfast they kindly prepared a take out...

We stayed at the Abbey during the literary festival. Lovely place to stay, clean, bright and tidy. Parked the car up (free on road parking) when we arrived and didn't touch it until we went home. Everywhere in town is walkable. Staff were inviting, friendly, helpful and informative. Nice breakfast too. Will definitely stay here again.
