Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I booked two rooms at the Cheltenham location on Gloucester Road. We had rooms 5 and 10. I had a few issues with our stay which I would have like to have rectified; 1. One of the rooms we stayed in had a broken bedframe and the mattress slanted downwards and made it near impossible to sleep in. 2. The other room I had booked was supposed to have one double bed and one single bed but only had the one double bed. 3. As we arrived to the location, the front door with the keypad was 'out of order' and the backdoor was locked. I got on the phone with someone at your company about how we should get into the building to which he replied "I'm going to call my colleague about how to take care of that, I'll ring you back in a few minutes" -I never got that call back. It was through sheer luck that someone staying at the hotel let us in. 4. The remote to the tv didnt work in one of the rooms. When I contacted them and their "Investigation" had taken place, this was the reply; "The Beds and sofa-beds are checked on a daily basis. This particular issue was not raised to our attention via our Housekeeping prior. Due to this, we believe that the Bed base being broken was no fault of ours. Additional training will be carried out with the Staff that were on shift that night in regards to Telephone manners. Due to the Rooms being used we are unfortunately unable to offer a refund on this occasion. We now consider this matter closed."

Budget hotel with hostel like qualities. Dilapidated building & rooms , no real help from reception staff when raising valid concerns. I would save a £5 and go down the road to premier inn. Or get an air bnb you would better off. Try to get your deposit back too ... don't take the staffs word that it's,going to happen quickly.

No stars , and the hotel is a dump. Musty smelling rooms and staff who seemed to think they were doing you a favour by letting you stay in a smelly room. Customer service 1 out of 10 Highly recommend the citrus hotel on wellington street . We booked in there the next day.

One word, dreadful! A very tired hotel, tatty place, bed was terrible, noisy all night with staff wandering about above my basement room. £90 per night, room only! Had to park in the NCP car park as the hotel did have a tiny area for about 5 cars max. Only slight plus was the location for numerous eating places and local bars. Shall not bother again!

The only thing good about this place is the employee Charlie. When it became clear that we needed to change room after a horrendous first night - he made sure that he changed us rooms which suited. In saying that - we did have to pay extra to change rooms - it was not given as a courtesy. The first room that we were given was in horrendous condition (Room 14 - for hotel staff reading the review, it requires attention) I'm guessing that we were allocated this room as we did not book directly with the hotel. It was old - the bedsheets has previous guests hair - two beds had been shoved together with a padded 'bumper' in the middle which meant that it wasn't a Double Bed - the bedside lamp (the only lamp) was missing the bulb - one light in the bathroom is faulty and the other bathroom light had a mind of it's own. The wardrobe sits on a sunken park of the floor and looks like it's going to collapse at any moment. I'm not even sure that the window in the room opens in case of an emergency! And please, for the love of god - replace the bath mats in the bathrooms. Ours was brown and bleach marked.

This hotel was booked for us for 2 nights as we were working nearby. The hotel rang us during the day to take payment before we arrived but never mentioned that the boiler wasn’t working and there was no hot water, this was only done at check in!! We were however assured this would be fixed the next day! You can imagine our dismay when we got back from work the next day only to find it hadn’t been fixed!! At no time did they they ring us to inform us cos if they had we would of cancelled and moved to another hotel!! The car park is not easy to find and incredibly tight to get in!!! Literally only about an inch either side of the car!! The reception looks like someone’s office so didn’t think it was the reception at first, all a bit weird!! And as for the rest of the hotel it is so tired it could fall asleep at any minute!! The carpets looked like they have been down for a hundred years!! The only positive is the bed was comfy!! Avoid this place at all costs!!

Upon arriving to check in there was no staff available to check me in.. the 24 hour helpline is useless as it’s just a phone in the reception… with no staff there to answer to the phone or to check in… what is the point? After 45 minutes of waiting to check in I eventually was able to get access to my room. The only reason I gave this hotel 2 stars is because the room was better than I expected after seeing the reviews. I would not recommend this place to anyone I know or work with. Also a £250 deposit for a one night stay is ridiculous when the room itself is £70 a night? I don’t even think everything in the room is worth £250

Arrived for a booked roommate £59 but was informed at xheckninitvhad been cancelled and the rate was now £99. No communication of any cancellation or amendment. A shabby looking reception with a dodgy feel to it with a dim lit entrance and dark rear car park.
