When you book this hotel DO make sure the restaurant i& bar are open --we arrived pretty shattered due to awful weather conditions especially on the motor way from Devon --only to be informed the restaurant & bar were closed---if we had been informed that this w the case when we booked--YEs you have guessed we would NOT have stayed .

We booked 2 nights Dinner Bed and Breakfast, hotel and rooms is very nice, but we booked both nights in the restaurant for our 2 course dinner, my starter, Pigeon breast was on the cold side, never had it before, so perhaps it supposed to be like that!, as for the main, I ordered the ribeye, my wife ordered the pork chop, but that’s all you get, fries and veg are extra!!, the pork was a bit dry, my wife left most of it, and no one asked if there was a problem. My steak was average at best. Even though the meal was booked and payed for on the second night, we cancelled our table and ate out in town. Don’t think we will be going back.

Excellent hotel, quirky decor, very clean with excellent staff. The restaurant was lovey, great quality food & friendly service. We had a lovely meal before our trip to the adjoining theatre. The little link way to the theatre was a huge boon on a wet night. Breakfast not quite so good, and a bit slow, but set us up for the day.

Had a brilliant time here - lovely, comfortable rooms with some really cool decorative touches, brilliant service from friendly staff, and an incredibly tasty breakfast menu with everything you could want.

A great three nights at the hotel for 12 of us. Very good rooms, breakfast excellent. i managed 3 different ones! Good bar with drinks well priced. We had dinner one night in the hotel before a performance at the theatre which is attached. It was very good i liked the pork belly. The wines good, the Romanian Pinot noir was a find. The staff & service were very good. Parking easy opposite in cheap public carpark. Easy walk into town for the other restaurants we used. overall great.

We have stayed now a few times, and this place is normally first class. Bed room was dusty, the fan had dust all around the base, the blue velvet head board was covered in dust across the top and the light where dusty, The bathroom was spotless… and always is. The evening meal was lovely. We ordered breakfast the next morning and never got it…. We waited an hour and it hap not been started and we could not wait any longer as I had train to catch. When we asked for a break down of the bill the person behind reception asked us way, and was a little rude when my husband said to check the charges. Such a shame as this is one Of my favourite places….we will however go back and try again.

A lovely little boutique hotel with a great theme. Extremely helpful and pleasant staff. Room was splendid, food was great. Service was good. Luckily we were upgraded to a room with air con, as it was the hottest day of the year. Fabulous stay. Little tip - the hotel pay for overnight car park so dont pay until you book in!

Stayed for one night. The Hotel is about 5/10 minutes walk (max) from the centre. Very straightforward. Parking straight across the road from the Hotel and for 2 days it only cost £5.40! Hotel is decorated in a quirky style. Very colourful! Has an Art Deco theme to it. We were given an upgrade and stayed in the Wright room. Everything you could need for your stay. Very clean. Large bathroom with lots of hot water! Fluffy white towels. Molton Brown toiletries and waffle bathrobes. Even had a magnifying mirror! Tea and coffee making facilities. Small fridge with fresh milk and drinking water. Iron and hair dryer. Evening meal was great and breakfast was excellent! Friendly, helpful staff. Would highly recommend 👍 Brilliant Hotel!

We had a two night stay here to attend a friends wedding in the area. The hotel is really nice and the rooms spacious and comfortable. We had a issue with the lock on our door the first night and so had to move rooms the next day. The staff dealt with this very efficiently and it was an easy process for us. We also very much appreciated the gesture given to us for the inconvenience. We ate in the restaurant on the Saturday evening and the food was really good, as were the cocktails. Again the restaurant staff were great. The hotel is well situated and only a short walk from the town centre. We would definitely return.

What a gem! Stayed here for two nights, in a very comfortable superking size bed. Loved the addition of a fridge in our room containing bottled water and fresh milk. Food was exceptional and every single member of staff so very pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble! Will definitely return and highly recommend.
