Welcome to The Bull, a Grade II-listed coaching inn, gloriously situated on the Market Square in Fairford, a picture-perfect market town in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds. The Bull now offers both restaurant and private dining spaces and a traditional pub bar, with open fires, and serving local craft beers, spirits and great wines. There’s also a traditional, vaulted barn, The Bull Room, for weddings and parties for up to 50 guests. BAFTA nominated set designer, Corina Burrough and interior designer Jo Titchener, worked to create The Bull’s beautifully refurbished interiors throughout, including its 21 individually furnished, en-suite bedrooms. The Bull also has private fishing rights to a 1.25-mile stretch of the River Coln with excellent fishing for grayling and trout, making it a popular base for fly-fishing trips. Rods cost from £50pp a day for up to five people.

Lovely old pub, open fires, cosy feel. Clearly recently decorated in quite a quirky style, but suited the place well. Our room was spacious and pleasant, overlooking the market place.

The only downside was the overpowering level of air freshener in the room and corridor. Some people may like that, but it gave us breathing difficulties! Once we'd got rid of the plug-in device and the diffuser bottle and kept the window open for a couple of hours with the extractor going, it got a bit more reasonable.

We didn't have an evening meal, but the breakfasts were great

The Bull Hotel is an excellent place to stay. We arrived early but the staff were so nice and told us to the beer garden at the rear of the property and we enjoyed a few drinks until our rooms were ready.
Our room was excellent, clean, spacious, had tea/coffee making facilities, bottled water, a fan, tv. We could not fault anything.
We booked an evening meal at the hotel. The table was perfect, near the window, spaced out so we felt that we were not too near other diners. Meal was excellent, cooked perfectly and not over priced.
In the morning we were offered a full English breakfast with a wide choice of menu. Included porridge, fruit, avocado with eggs, salmon and of course the standrad English. Again we could not fault this.
The staff at the hotel in all areas were so polite and helpful.
We would definitely recommend and hopefully return one day.
Five stars - Excellent.

Spent a couple of days in this hotel during the month of December and in general our stay was quite pleasant. The hotel is located in the main but tiny town of Fairford with a pharmacy, a supermarket and a lovely coffee place near a large and wonderful park. We had dinner twice inside the hotel and both food and cocktails were exquisite!! Breakfast in the morning was nice as well.

We rented a King side bedroom but I was quite disappointed when I entered the room as it looked bigger on booking.com website. I was particularly sad because I paid an additional £150 just for this room expecting it to be bigger.

The room faced the street so in the morning at approx 6AM we could hear the shops opening and it was pretty loud unfortunately. While in our room we could hear people talking in other rooms as well. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was nice but I would suggest to add tiles everywhere in the bathroom as you can see stains in few parts and for being a bathroom I personally don't like it. The carpet was clean the first few days than I started noticing that it wasn't as the first day. The best part were the hair and body products from a local brand: they left my skin and hair very soft.

We were allocated room 2 on the front of the hotel, and we were told that a market would be setting up from 5am on the Wednesday morning!! ( What! That was NOT mentioned when we booked ) worried about the noise as soon as we entered our room, we asked if we could be moved and told NO! Apparently they were full!?

On the Tuesday morning we were woken at 5.30am with the refuge collection.
At 5 am on a Wednesday the market sets up!
Thursday 6am a Delivery
Friday 6.30 Grass cutting / leaf blowing
We heard every car, motorcycle, conversation from outside our window.
Having booked this break without our children we were really hoping for a nice relaxed time. Something we certainly did not get! When we were asked by Tracey ( The Receptionist ) about the noise we said it was terrible. The response we got was “ you could go to the chemist for ear plugs or if you drink, have a few extra!!!” Really not very professional or helpful!
If they are not going to do anything about the noise they really need to bring it to people’s attention before they book.
I would never stay here again!

Lovely hotel and restaurant in the small village of Fairford. We stayed two nights. The room was very spacious, with trendy decor - free toiletries to use in bathroom. Our room was at the front of the property so could be quite noisy in the night with vehicles passing through and people on phone outside etc (my only reason for marking this place down as I’m a light sleeper!). We ate in the restaurant once and food was gorgeous and our waiter was great! He also worked on front of house on our second night and was very accommodating to get us a table for drinks only without us prebooking. Very clean and hot on the COVID extra measures!

Had 2 nights here and booked a deluxe double room. The room is lovely and very posh looking. On entering, the smell of lemon hits you as they have diffusers in the bathroom from a very expensive brand and beautifully decorated. This has to be the cleanest room I’ve stayed in. I’m very fussy on cleanliness but whoever cleans this room is spot on! Free use of lovely toiletries and complimentary dental kit beauty pack and earplugs.

We arrived on a Tuesday and read the car park is closed on a Wednesday as there is a market just outside your window. You just park up the road a bit on that day, so no issue.

Chip shop, boots, co op all opposite and pizza and kebab all in walking distance.

Our first social night out since lockdown and you’d think when supporting a local business they would make your visit feel special and want to do well under the current climate. Look after your guests and they will spend more money on drinks and possibly even tip you for great service!
It was completely the opposite.
Waitress/waiter table service, but literally no one came to ask us for anything. Our first drinks down and no one came to check if we wanted another for 20 minutes so I had to ask, the food then took over 45 minutes to come out, the draught beer for my husband was “the last one in the keg” and then he ordered a bottle of wine from the wine list. Then the waiter came back a good while later and then said “sorry we haven’t got that one in”. Why have it on the wine list then?
Our main course food was ok, although I could have been given a sharper steak knife for my lamb rump. Then, no offer of “would you like any more drinks”, we had to call someone over again.
Left then for over an hour with the dessert menus, no one asked if we’d like a dessert (Why not ask when you clear away our main course?), so eventually when we spotted the waitress I asked if I could order some desserts, to be told “oh I think the chef has gone home”. Who goes in to a restaurant for just one course (not us usually) and who allows the chef to go home if you still have tables whom have menus on the table having not yet been asked whether they’d like a dessert or not?
It felt that we had to ask for the waiter service, like we were an inconvenience being there.
We’ll simply not support this local business ever again, we’ll go elsewhere.

My husband and I came to stay here for a date night (child free, which after lockdown, was very much needed). Arrived a little before check in so had a drink in the bar while we waited. Immediately loved the rustic chic decor and how welcoming and friendly the staff were. Our room was reasonably sized, plenty big enough for us. Beautifully furnished, cosy and clean with a super comfortable bed. The bathroom was also reasonably sized, clean and the decor was just as lovely as the bedroom. The shower was spacious and lovely with a nice big shower head. The toiletries provided smelled PHENOMENAL, I’ll be purchasing some of my own. For dinner my husband and I both had the black pudding fritters for starter, I had the halloumi burger and my husband had the carver duck and we both shared the cheese board for desert. Everything was delicious, well presented and the portion sizes were perfect. We didn’t have to wait long for anything at all either which was great as we had both skipped lunch.
We are extremely happy with our little date night away, I would highly recommend The Bull and would love to return for future nights away.
Keep up the good work guys!

Just got back (19th july) from a 2 night break here and it was fantastic. The welcome and service from every member of staff was outstanding. We drank and ate here for all the 2 days and never had to wait more than 5 mins for service and drinks. The food both breakfast and dinner was fabulous. The room was comfortable, clean with beautiful toiletries and plentiful tea/coffee. It has been the hottest 2 days of the year and the room was very hot but fans were provided which was a lovely touch.
Well done chrissy, Tracey and the rest of the team at the Bull. We would go back in a heart beat and highly recommend to others.
Well done!!!!

We stayed at the Bull for two nights over new year.

The great thing about places like the bull is that the rooms are all different having been fitted into an old building.

The room was reasonably well fitted and both the bedroom and bathroom were warm.

We looked out over the square in Fairford and were on the first floor. Some rooms are at street level and may not be brilliant / very private.

Our deal had two evening meals included and the menu was reasonable with sufficient choice for two nights.

Breakfast was fine with hot food coked to order.

Staff were great and all friendly and helpful.

There we some fishermen on the river Coln which can be accessed from across the road from the Bull. The river is a beautiful walk with amazing wildlife.
