A beautifully located family run newly refurbished restaurant with rooms in the heart of the acclaimed Cotswolds, we are close to the Regency Spa town of Cheltenham with its colonnaded high street of top name shops and famous racecourse, though still rural enough to enjoy the many walking paths and bridal ways of this lovely county.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed for a mid week break in the Indian Room, bathroom had underfloor heating and plenty of towels and toiletries provided. Good tea and coffee provisions in the room too. Would have expected a king size bed rather than a double bed. Lovely view of the church grounds. Bit of a nightmare to park as none provided at the premises. Strange instructions as to how to enter the property and covid overkill rules and regs, bearing in mind we are getting back to normal now. I would have given a higher rating but there was a lack of personal contact with the owner

Great place to stay lovely and quiet . Nice rooms friendly staff. Lovely quaint village . Great if you like walking etc, otherwise not a lot to do there . They have great a restaurant which I would highly recommend. Free car parking just a couple of minutes away.

We had a wonderful stay at St Michael’s. The room was beautiful and spotless, with a lovely shower and tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast was delicious and large, even though we had a long walk ahead! The hostess was lovely, we would definitely recommend!

We stumbled across this quaint restaurant by accident because the booking we had at a different restaurant was cancelled. We are so happy that we did! The food was ‘out of this world’ and we savored every moment of this experience. We enjoyed the food so much that we knew straight away that we wanted to return. This time when we booked we decided to say overnight in their beautiful Indian Room to make our trip extra special. The food didn’t disappoint! Marin truly cooks from the heart and spends time with his customers talking about his love of food while Catalina tentatively serves the customers with a lovely smile. Breakfast is like you have never seen before, all served direct to your table, and the selection is amazing. I guarantee you won’t be able to eat it all, and what you can’t eat, they pack into a box for you to take away with you. If you haven’t been, I strongly recommend you do, you won’t be disappointed! See you very soon Marin and Catalina. Alan and Julie Lowman xx

M wife and I had a lovely stay here, right in the heart of Painswick. Unfortunately for us the restaurant portion of the BandB was closed, so we weren't able to have breakfast or supper or meet our hosts, but they sent us clear instructions of how to access the room. It more than exceeded our expectations!

Our room was small and a bit quirky but comfortable. Loved Painswick and the location. A bit of confusion with the WiFi and breakfast since it’s self check in, but we got it sorted. The breakfast was the best ever, and they packed leftovers up for our walk, very helpful

I cannot speak highly enough of this place. I stayed in the Art Deco room for 1 night as I was working in the area. Communication prior to arrival was excellent as there is no car park and its not the easiest place to navigate without the instructions. The room was perfect. Bed was the comfiest I have ever slept in and the underfloor heating in the bathroom was a lovely touch. From the free choccy to the fresh milk, the little touches move this gem form good to outstanding. Breakfast was something else! There was no way I could eat it all and the takeaway box provided me with lunch and snacks for the rest of the day! Excellent quality products with homemade touches. I was stuffed! Yes - its not a full English but I really didn't mind. I was a particular fan of the goats cheese and the home made compote that was a little bit of Xmas in July! We didn't eat in the bistro as it was closed but there are laces close by. The menu did look good and I am currently trying to convince my other half that this would be a good base for a weekend away. I would definitely return.

Very comfortable bed and soft pillows. Followed by an excellent breakfast packed with local produce and beautifully presented. WiFi not being secure is the only slight negative. Ideally located just of High Street.
