We stayed for 2 nights in mid March in the beautifully clean and spacious Hornbeam room of wonderful Mole End and what a pleasure it was in every way. Trevor is a fantastic host and his breakfasts are delicious and plentiful. It's only a short walk into the centre of lovely Stow with its shops and restaurants, but the house is quiet with beautiful views over fields and ample parking. Thank you Trevor for making our stay in the Cotswolds so memorable.
Our room - The Hornbeam Room - was simply superb, beautifully furnished and decorated - as was the whole house. A lovely secluded location but close to the main road and centre of Stow itself with great extensive views. Trevor is noted for his exfellent breakfasts and his reputation is well justified. We will certainly be returning - just not soon enough!
This was our first stay in Stow on the Wold and we could not have picked a more perfect place to stay. The beautiful house is set well away from the road and is very quiet. Our bedroom was huge, as was the en-suite. Everything was spotless. There was plenty of storage space and hangers. Trevor is a wonderful host, and he cooks a very good breakfast! Two nights was just not enough. Would love to go back.
My husband and I stayed at Mole End on our first real visit to The Cotswolds and what a gem it was. Trevor welcomed us into his beautiful charming home and we knew we had stumbled on a gem . The house was beautiful and our room was enormous. Trevor was a charming host who cooked us a lovely breakfast on our two mornings there. The house is a few minutes walk from Stow and has a large private parking space. We really hope to return and stay at Mole End and we just want to say a huge thank you to Trevor for making our stay such a happy one . Highly recommended.
Mole end is fabulous! A sweeping gravel driveway leads you to a traditional Cotswold stone house. Plenty of parking space which was great. The inside is beautifully decorated. We stayed in the Hornbeam room which is huge, with an equally huge bathroom. Absolutely lovely, very clean and everything we needed with a glorious view over the garden and fields with sheep grazing. Trevor is a very down to earth host and an altogether very nice chap, his breakfasts were superb and he was there if we needed him but mostly left us in peace and to our own devices. About a 5 min walk brings you into the town centre which has a few pubs and restaurants, lots of tea rooms and quaint shops centred around the town square. Very pleasant small market town. We would definitely stay at Mole end again, the Cotswolds are just beautiful and Stow is a great base to see many more beautiful villages. Thank you for a wonderful stay. …
My partner and I visited for two nights (Monday and Tuesday) and were the only guests. Very easy to find with good directions sent in advance. The property is amazingly well kept and very quiet despite being set a short distance back from the main road. The room was huge and the bathroom was beautiful. Very comfortable bed with the softest bed sheets we have ever slept on! The room and bathroom were both extremely clean and well presented. Brilliant views from the window over the garden and adjacent meadow. Breakfast was delicious. A cafetière of coffee and a mug of tea to accompany fresh fruit and a great cooked breakfast left us ready for the day. Great quality for the price of the accommodation and I would definitely recommend to anybody wishing to visit the area. Great host and great property.…
We spent one night in this b&b while doing some walking and touring of the area in the Cotswolds. The room is large and tastefully decorated as is the whole house that we seen. Our ensuite was also large with both a bath and separate shower. It is very quiet, has lots of room for parking and is within walking distance of Stow. We had a lovely breakfast as well and Trevor was charming and attentive.
OK, I admit, aside from the fact that this B&B was listed as #1, I fell in love with the Wind in the Willows name. We didn't see Toad, Mole or Badger, but our host Trevor warmly invited us into his home. And it is his home. Don't expect the anonymity of a hotel. You are staying in his beautifully appointed, very large and elegant house built of the local Cotswold stone. Our bedroom was gigantic and the bathroom was just perfect (tub and a full shower). We could open the windows for a bit of fresh air which I loved. Someone in another review wrote it was about the size of a hotel room...I'm not sure where that guy stayed, but our room was about 3 times the size of an average room. Bed was super comfortable. Trevor cooks an excellent breakfast -- anything you want. I can't attest to getting everything because I kept gorging on the English breakfast. The beautifully set table seemed too fancy for me to be sitting there wolfing down giant sausages and bacon. Mole End is about a 10 minute walk from the center...but there's not much going on there. It's a perfect hub for hiking and/or driving around the Cotswolds. We walked to the center for dinner. It was a very peaceful location to pass out after a busy day of walking and pub visits. Like another reviewer said, DO EMAIL Trevor. He'll get back to you promptly.…
Tip: go to mole end website and send email to Trevor as directed. He will get back to you promptly letting you know if he has a room. The room my wife and I stayed in for 3 nights was 3x the size of a typical hotel room. Full English breakfast was terrific. As so many TripAdvisor reviews testify, you will love your stay. And the view out your bedroom window is outstanding.
This B&B was one of the best we stayed in during our 5 weeks in Great Britain. It is really a home, beautifully decorated, lots of parking, and a lovely property (with horses in the field). We stayed in the Hornbeam room, which was very large, with a large ensuite bathroom. It was really a special place. Trevor was a wonderful, low key host. He prepared delicious breakfasts, with fresh fruit and ingredients, made to order. The B&B was located just on the edge of town, within walking distance of restaurants and shops. This was a great base for exploring many of the small Cotswold towns and Trevor was happy to talk with us about where to visit and also follow up on how our day was. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this amazing property and host.
