Lovely hotel. We stayed in cottage 1 and it was charming. Very friendly staff great breakfast. Our friends stayed in room 5 and it was also charming. Stone walls in the room with a fireplace, not useable of course but a wonderful addition to the room. Well decorated and clean. Highly recommend staying here.

I know that it's Stow but £5.60 for a pint of Carling is OTT. Carling is not a premium lager and although it was perfectly acceptable, the price was not. The town does have other pubs where prices reflect the national average.

Just returned from a nice stay here. We had a room which was actually a little annexe not part of the pub building. Room 3. Positives - Comfy bed and bedding Spotlessly clean Smooth booking and communication Friendly staff Amazing breakfast - best ever at a hotel Wonderful evening meal Slight negatives On two levels so not really an en-suite as have to go down to the loo The beams are quite low by one side of the bed so you have to bend down to get in and be careful not to crack your head in the night! Shower was a bit feeble Woken at 7 am by delivery driver shouting greetings to the pub staff and noise of delivery . Overall a great stay and good value for Stow. The staff were friendly and professional and the food really great!

Great evening stay at this lovely pub/hotel. Today m was charming. Staff were very friendly and the food was excellent and very reasonable price. The full English breakfast was fabulous. Recommended location in the heart of Stow on the Wold. Nice and close to Fairfax and Favor which delighted the wife.

Our second time at this pub/hotel. Like the first visit it did not disappoint. Following an exchange of e mails we were able to book one of the cottage rooms for two nights. We had room 3 which was delightful. Spotlessly clean and everything you could wish for. We had dinner in the pub on the first night and our steaks were excellent. Breakfast on both mornings was everything you could wish for starting with a warm smile from the ladies serving the meals and topping up the buffet. They could not do enough for you including taking photographs, providing excellent service with a smile seemed to be the theme running through the hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed our second stay and will certainly book a third.

We have just returned from 2 night break. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was a little quirky in that the en suite was downstairs and the bedroom was upstairs! I have a little difficulty in managing stairs because of arthritis in my knee but it certainly wasn’t a problem. I did contact the pub when I booked to advise them, I got a speedy response from them to advise they had allocated a room with the least stairs. Excellent. Food was superb - the full English breakfast was the best I’ve had for some time. I had the bacon and sausage sandwich for today’s breakfast. Also excellent. We ate there both evenings. Excellent again, the two steaks and bottle of wine deal last night brilliant. All in all a very good break in a lovely town Thank you

Difficult to find fault with this wonderful hotel in the centre of a magnificent town. It is surrounded by other pubs and restaurants, so you will be spoilt for choice - even if you don't eat in their great restaurant. The room we had was on two levels so it felt very luxurious and there was nothing that disappointed. The staff were very friendly and chatted with the guests and added to the informal and relaxed atmosphere. Some great local beers on tap and not expensive. Its a great place for shopping and we were able to pick up quite a few Christmas gifts from the individual shops. Cant wait to return - maybe early summer before the crowds arrive.

Lovely gem of a place. Staff were very helpful & frendly. The rooms are well kept & spacious enough for 2 people easily with on-suite facilities. Tea & coffee also available. Food in the hotel was excellent, (especially the full English) but if you don't want a big breakfast smaller meals as well. Check in & check out was easy, and next door is a co-op shop, lots of amenities within walking distance.
