Have now stayed here on several occasions and can't fault the hotel, good sized rooms well appointed. Staff friendly and always helpful. Good menu either in jack hares bar or main restaurant. Also excellent breakfast. Like the fact dogs welcome and the gardens are loverly. Can't recommend enough.

We spent a wonderful evening and stayed at the hotel for a friends wedding. Really wonderful ceremony very intimate and really beautiful, the food was delicious and just the right amount. The room we stayed in was just perfect! Clean, tidy and fabulous... The Molton brown accessories are a delight especially after a night in the wedding bar! All round...

We have just stayed the night following our friends wedding at the hotel. From the word go I was impressed by the decor and attention to detail inside the hotel. The wedding was in a lovely bright room and the food for the wedding breakfast was good quality. I had the vegetarian option which was pleasant but as only the...

Enjoyed a very comfortable 2 day break in the Ash suite (Bridal suite apparently). High standard of fittings, decor and cleanliness throughout. Pleasant friendly staff added to our enjoyment. Our suite was in the Silkwood area which is a modern recently built area detached from the main hotel. Room was large and thoughtfully designed to echo some of the character...

I took my wife out to Sunday lunch on 13th November 2016, unlucky for some! My main course was inedible, I have never seen a Sunday lunch like it at venues very much lower in status than the Hare and Hounds. The whole course was burnt and black in appearance, the roast beef had streaks of gristle running through it,...

We stopped to break a long journey. We were welcomed by the receptionist as we checked in with an offer of setting us a table in the lounge next to the dining room so that our dog could have breakfast with us. Our dog friendly room in one of the cottages was equipped with a dog bed and dog bowl...

I was a bit taken aback, given the reviews. The slightly dank smell in a confined room with not much natural light was offset by a device to waft out a counter-smell (quite a nice smell!), by nice furnishings, a good bathroom, & pretty good wifi. And the experienced staff are lovely; those with less experience can be a bit...

Excellent hotel with fantastic restaurant and staff service. This is an old hotel so the rooms are "old" in style but are well maintained. Bathroom facilities and toiletries are very good and the quality of tea making facilities is excellent. Definitely worth a stay if you are after a reasonably priced luxury hotel which is handy for the local attractions....

I stayed here in November with my parents. We booked two rooms. Firstly my main tip would be make sure you get a room in the main (historic) building! my poor parents had a room that was very far away and around the back of the hotel ( not in the hotel at all). their room was more expensive and...
