Just happened to spot this gem on Travelzoo. What a warm welcome we got, lovely comfy room excellent food and drink. We were able to take the dog at no extra cost and he was made very welcome too. The first night we were there was the turning on of the Christmas lights and the pub was packed, even though...

Loved the fires, good ale, food, service, atmosphere and location of the White Hart. My only complaint were the toilets which at 7pm on a mid week night we foul and smelly. So off putting to the thought of the kitchens, if this is the lack of focus to the guest toilets!

Another lovely weekend at The White Hart, it's been 2 years since we were last here and everything is as good if not better. I booked the same rooms as we knew how good they were and we were not disappointed. Evening meal was excellent as was breakfast in the morning, my only complaint is that the teapots were extremely...

I am a walker and sometimes take a different route than planned. So many nice locals kept me on the straight and narrow to the White Hart Inn with glowing recommendations. Jed in the bar got me the right pint. I checked into the wonderful Ramblers rooms which shared a huge, modern, bathroom. I showered and did a bit of...

A pleasure from the moment we walked in, to the moment we left. Lovely food, nothing to much trouble for the excellent staff. The pork was succulent, the vegetables cooked to perfection and there was plenty of it too. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back.

We had lunch here midweek in November. Initially quiet it became quite busy as lunchtime progressed and there was a good buzz about the place. Set lunch menu made it reasonable value, food quality was good. Service was attentive and quick right until the end when there was a pudding mixup (puddings on the menu weren't available in the kitchen)...

I was extremely pleased with my stay here. The building had lots of character with plenty of olde England charm. Free parking at the rear. The bar area was very pleasant, well presented and the staff were attentive and friendly on my evening arrival. My double room was warm, clean with a comfortable bed and fresh crisp bedding and towels....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Eat, drink and flop in historic Winchcombe. To some it's a pub, others a hotel. Situated at the heart of the village of Winchcombe near Cheltenham, this ‘restaurant with rooms’ (there are 11) offers the very best of British food and an excellent wine list. Visit the wine shop and try the famous sausages in the Wine & Sausage eating rooms. A perfect place to visit or stay if you love walking or visiting Cheltenham races. Each of the 8 en-suite rooms are individually styled and some have feature beds. In the Wine & Sausage eating rooms located on the inns ground floor they are passionate about real food, the great and simple British dishes that we grew up with. Ingredients are carefully sourced and wherever possible use local and regional farmers, growers, fishermen, producers, brewers and even winemakers. Just a few metres away from the inn you will find the scenic Cotswold Way and Gloucestershire Way footpaths. The Inn is also very popular with cyclists and can help with routes around the area, especially via one or two other 'watering holes'. There's even a hosepipe for washing down muddy bikes. Winchcombe is an idyllic base for touring the Cotswolds and the White Hart is the perfect bolt hole close to the famous sporting and cultural festival town of Cheltenham. ... more   less
