Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great value and very close to Gunwharf Quays. The reception check in chap, can’t remember his name, lovely young lad very pleasant and professional. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and great shower pressure. There was free parking which is not common in most hotels. This was a bonus. It is close to restaurants, a nice park where I could walk my dog and plenty of shops. Would come back again.

Room Tip: The cost to stay was very good and to be honest it’s relatively close to most of central Portsmouth.

This hotel is still being used to house homeless druggies . No wonder it is so cheap! Please avoid at all costs - rude, threatening, some with dogs that they allow to do their business in the surrounding carpark areas & don’t bother to clear it up. Awful experience. Feel sorry for the staff

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The lady at reception provided suggestions on what we could do in Portsmouth as well as where we could eat. The hotel has free car parking across the road at the B&Q. The room was basic and small, however, you can’t complain as it is a budget hotel.

I think for a budget hotel and only £40 for the night, I was happy to stay here. I think for the price you're in a great location to explore Portsmouth. If you're expecting anything more than basic you will be quite disappointed. But it was clean, beds were comfortable, it was quiet and parking was free. So I would recommend if you're travelling on a budget.

Stayed here pre-pandemic in 2019, and had a pleasant stay. Visited again post-pandemic, and was very disappointed. The building needs a lot of maintenance doing to it (worn carpets, walls need repainting etc.), the car park consists of 4 spaces - or an overflow at B&Q (!), the tea and coffee facilities are reduced to a kettle available from reception and that’s it. At least put few tea bags and UHT milk in the rooms?! The shower was actually quite good, but the small hole in the door means water sprays out onto the floor. Also, there’s a lack of coat hooks in the room, which isn’t ideal if you need them for winter coats and towels. The beds had a layer of cheap foam on top of the mattress - had we known this, we’d have removed them as they made sleeping impossible. The walls are paper thin, and none of the doors in the building seem to have slow-closing mechanisms on them, so be prepared to bring ear plugs. You can also hear ALL the waste pipes from the floors above. Also, there are only 2 sockets under the TV, none by a mirror and no USB sockets. Can’t comment on breakfast, but it certainly looked less plentiful than pre-pandemic. Also, the vending machines need filling up more. Lovely staff, but won’t be staying here again. The Accor management team seriously need to invest some cash into this place!

No Tv working No toilet light working and there is no lock in washroom staff was good but ask me to park my car in B&Q parking which very far and somebody smash my car from behind . And I have no idea who did it . It was very far from the hotel . So before booking this hotel ensure your good parking space and room .

Bargain price (£48 on a sold-out matchday, come on!) with incredibly comfortable bed and great shower pressure. Probably not one for a romantic weekend away and the bathroom set up is a bit weird but then again who’s sharing a room with their mates when it’s cheap enough to get a room each?! Staff were great and 12pm check out a bonus. Would happily stay here again if Sky decide to mess about with the fixtures again
