Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Me and my partner stayed in the boutique hotel for a couple nights as a present from my dad. This hotel is by far one of the best I've stayed in. The staff were lovely and attentive, the room was beautifully decorated with rose petals on our bed and our breakfast (which was included the two days we were there) was superb. We're both already planning to stay again later this year. Thank you to all the staff to whom made us both feel welcome!

Ŵe chose to stay here due to its close proximity to a, music venue we were attending.we had also stayed before and had good memories of it then, however this time I was dissapointed our room was on the top floor and was very small and looked very dated, the furniture was all a bit mismatched and one unit looked very yellow and discoloured. There was a distinct lack of plugs ,relying on 1 extension lead for both sides of the room. The room was very hot at night but could not open window due to the sound of running water outside. Woken up at 7.30 by the couple next door talking /arguing loudly due to very thin partition walls you could hear it very clearly. Not sure the price for 1 night was good value for the room experience we got. Breakfast was good but not great and felt rushed with staff pouncing on you as soon as we sat down and it would have been nicer to have fresh croissants rather than pre packed. Would I stay again ,yes but not in the room we were allocated

I can't praise this hotel enough where we are enjoying a 3-night mini-break. Lovely welcome on arrival, beautiful, immaculately clean and comfortable room. One of the best full English breakfasts I've ever had, served by incredibly friendly staff. Location is outstanding, short walk to many restaurants, the sea front, South parade pier. Next to bus stops to take you all over the area and 30 minute walk to hoverport to isle of Wight. There is absolutely nothing to fault about this hotel. Would give it 6 stars if I could.

Room was nice and big it was clean light and airy the bed wasn't the most comfy but I slept well. The headboard was a bit loose and found it a bit nervey to lean on it while sitting up in bed. There was only 2 pillows rach with no spares if we wanted them. I personally found that the next day when asked for the room to be cleaned the bed wasn't made to the high standard as it should be and no toilet rolls were replaced as the same with tea coffee or milk. Maybe a small fridge in the room would have been nice too. We experienced being woken very very early Sunday morning to a water leak coming through the ceiling and down the blinds onto the floor nearly soaking clothes in my partner suitcase when mentioned to a member of staff as we checked out on the Sunday a polite apology was made but an excuse of a build of heavy rain was used surely if its raining outside it shouldn't be coming through the ceiling surely from the room above us? I was really quiet annoyed by the attitude of the lady who served us our breakfast Saturday morning and it wasn't very nice either as it seemed that certain food ony plate was reheated from the day before. Apart from some small issues our stay was welcoming and comfortable thank you staff ofG boutique guest house

This is a B&B not a Boutique Hotel. I wouldn't may more than £110 for an ordinary room and £150 for a "deluxe" room. We paid quite a bit more than this and didn't feel it was value for money. The room was quite clean - no complaints there. Suspect they have never gone through a "mystery shopper" test to get feedback on the small details for each room which would be helpful. The B&B was in a good location for our purposes but a 40 min walk from Portsmouth and Southsea Station. Breakfast was OK but croissants were in individual plastic bags - it would have been nice to have warm ones. Coffee was very average - probably better to stick to tea. Staff at breakfast not very customer-focused.

Let's start with the bad on arrival we pressed the bell and were kept waiting about 10 minutes before someone arrived, in my view not a good start! Next the noise that comes from the kitchen staff, on one morning there were 6 people in there all dealing with food orders and only 1 wearing the requires hair netting. There's music and a TV playing at the same time and then the noise of the kitchen over the top of that, it's not exactly a relaxing atmosphere. That said the place is comfortable clean and quirky. Theres en suite facilities, tea and coffe making in the room. It is a little tired in places but over all it is a place we would stay again. I suggest booking in advance

Very comfortable bed. The room we had was spacious and bathroom with a hot tub was nice but could sometimes hear others and there was basically nothing out the windows to look at and almost felt looked over by a very close block of flats. It is a nice room but we have stayed in much nicer rooms for less money. Good location and breakfast was great!

Lovely hotel very near Canoe Lake and the esplanade. Rooms were clean and had everything you could need for a stay. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, a mixture of buffet and freshly cooked items. Staff were lovely too.
