This small hotel was very welcoming, clean and comforting. The room was quiet and the bed very comfy. The buffet-style breakfast was excellent including the bacon and the pancakes! Most importantly it was really well located; very close to the Harbour railway station, the Royal Naval Dockyard and the outlet shops. Plus excellent walks along the coast and into the Old Town. We stayed 3 nights and it was the perfect base to explore a fascinating city

The aim of my visit was to visit the Historic Dockyard. This hotel was ideally placed - walking distance from the Museum and central to many restaurants. I was not the driver but am told the parking concession worked well. Booking was straightforward and changing date (to avoid weather) was easy. Reception on the first floor, accessed by lift, was efficient and welcoming. A refreshments station in reception was welcome. Corridors were bright, carpeted and quiet. The room was bright and comfortable with 2 chairs, a writing desk and comfortable double bed (though I was a solo traveller). TV and tea and coffee, an ironing board and iron and hairdryer were in the room. WiFi was available. The window outlook over Gunwarf Quays was pleasant and surprisingly quiet. The shower room was spotless and very well designed with corner wash basin, shower, room to hang wash-bag and toilet discretely behind the door. Towels were white and fluffy. Breakfast was very good. There was a selection of cereals, fruit, toast, jams and pastries and even bags for those that needed to "grab and go". The full English breakfast was on hot servers with sausages, back bacon, tomatoes, beans hash browns and scrambled egg. If you need to visit this area for leisure or business, to wait for a ferry to the Isle of Wight, or visit the university or Naval College, this would be a good place to stay.

A nice little stop over during the half term break. The staff were excellent, and made us feel very welcome, it was during Halloween so all the decorations were up. Right next to the shops, so a great location for this, and restaurants too, would recommend.

Brasserie blanc never disappoints. The food was delicious. Always a warm welcome and a special thank you to our waiter Paul, we had excellent customer service from him and he definately went the extra mile to make my late birthday lunch special.

I can honestly say that I have been so impressed with the location of the hotel and most of all the best staff that we have ever had the pleasure to meet. I would like to personally thank Peter,Daniel,Ann Marie, Maria and not to forget the smiling Finn. I have stayed in many hotels in the UK but can totally recommend this place is very reasonable on drinks and has plenty of good food and shopping in walking distance. I would like the management and group owners to please pass on my thanks and best wishes for the hard work and dedication that they have shown on numerous occasions when I have been in the bar area and in hearing distance from reception for the professional approach to everyone they have to deal with, and some were not the politest. Keep up the good work 👏 and I will certainly be back.

Stayed for a work function Room was clean, but very tired and felt like a dorm room and noisy!! You’re paying for the location … which if you’re shopping at Gunwharf you literally couldn’t be any better, walk straight out to the shops! Bar is open till 2am 😳

We stayed for 1 night on Friday 09th February 2024. The cost for a standard double room with no view of the Spinnaker Tower was £77 with a free breakfast. Check-in was simple and quick and included advice about discounts at local eateries if you show your room key, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was well-stocked and had a great variety including self-serving syrup for coffee. There were USB charging points in the room which actually worked (compared to others in competitor hotels In my experience), the shower was powerful and complimentary wash gels of a high standard. The location is brilliant being within Gunwharf Quays, and the free wi-fi worked well without a password. Parking in the Gunwharf Quays underground car park was included. The only negatives were the extra charge for a better view from your room, the people in the room next door having a door-slamming argument at 04:00 in the morning and the unmanned ground-floor reception area being used by smokers and weed smokers (Check-in was at the manned 1st-floor reception).

We stayed as a couple, I booked a double room, but we were given a family room with inter connecting locked door. There was a lot of noise from young adults in the adjoining room. I was informed I should state when booking that I did not want an interconnecting room. I have never had this problem before.
