My husband paid above the odds for this experience by bidding on it at auction at the Oval - England ODI of summer '15. Yes - he was drunk when he won the bid, but I suppose I can't complain too much, it was for a worthy cause! I'd say he spent approx £300 over the market value, so I...

Great venue. Enjoyed the boat ride on the Solent spitbank fort only has 8 bedrooms so although people also come for lunch there is just a small group at night. The hot tub and fire pit were brilliant and we all enjoyed roasting marshmallows.

We booked Spitbank for 22 of us to celebrate my dad and my uncle both turning 60. The words amazing, incredible and fantastic don't even come close to describe the time we spent on there, and we couldn't have asked for any better service than we received. Kyle, Elina & Matt went above and beyond for us, they really are...

I really did not know what to expect when I booked Spitbank Fort for an overnight stay. I had convinced myself that it was either going to be a rundown building in the middle of the sea or an excellent experience. Wow Wow Wow I was so surprised that having travelled around the world that this was only 3 hours...

Spent the night there with a group of friends for a 50th birthday - so had the run of the place. The staff left no stone unturned and the service could not have been better. The rooms was spacious and very comfortable. The food was amazing. The hot tub on the roof (with bell to summon a drink), the fire...

Spitbank Fort is an old fortification, one of 4 in The Solent, built in the 1800s to keep Napoleon III from invading England. Whilst not finished in time for that war, it and the other Forts were used in defence of The Solent during WWII. Spitbank Fort is now considered an ancient monument and, although it is being used as...

We have just returned from a two night stay aboard Spitbank Fort and already wish we were back there! This is a truly special and unique experience which is made better by staying for two nights - not the one night which everyone else seemed to be doing. This meant that we had the place to ourselves for several hours...

I would think very carefully before you book this as your ability to go is governed by the weather. We were due to go this weekend but today (Friday) it's been cancelled as the wind may gust up to 20mph. To be fair they are upfront about this when booking, but as we don't live near Portsmouth we've now lost...

As warned by many previous reviews, the company cancelled the morning before we were due to arrive. Wind speed was the excuse used, although predictions are normal for the time of year. They were unable to offer another date until after October - Autumn/Winter. I think I can predict what would happen then if they won't travel when the wind...
