Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely location when visiting with family on the half term , staff on reception are always friendly and welcoming rooms and hotel may been slightly in need of a upgrade but this doesn’t effect your stay and what Portsmouth has to offer so close buy. Would definitely come back to see what we didn’t this time, great restaurant next door for breakfast to start the day especially with kids that eat free.

Just returned from a 3night stay and my word what a enjoyable time we had , the staff are just so friendly and helpful there, the room was very clean, comfortable and quiet, parking ideal and at £5 for 24 hours very reasonable, once parked we never used the car. We also had meals in the adjoining Brewers Fayre and again the staff and food were really good. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Well done to all .

Arrived 15mins before 3pm check in after 3 hour journey only to be told I can pay £10 extra for the early check in. The brewers fayre restaurant badly run with staff that don’t care and absolutely no people skills.

Booked a family room but it wasn’t set up upon arrival so had to change rooms. New room was mouldy in the bathroom. The bath hadn’t been cleaned and had scum marks in it. Mould all over the windows and the room had a very strong, chemical smell overall dirty horrible room

We often stay at a premier inn as we feel they are good value for money and you know what to expect as far as facilities and rooms are concerned. This one was perfectly pleasant and suited our needs. On our second night we availed ourselves of the meal deal which is a two course dinner including a drink plus a cooked breakfast the next morning which was excellent value for money.

Very disappointed, I always stay in Premier Inns, when I stay 1 or 2 nights, mostly from southampton. On arrival at 2.20pm, 40 minutes before check-in, the reception asked for £10.00 for early check-in, hardly early, so we had to wait even though room was ready!!. Then after this and waiting another 15 mins, we checked in, then put into a Double room, that smelt, as I travelled with my friend and requested a Twin room. Then had to wait another 39 mins to change rooms. So didn't get into the correct room until 4pm!!. This hotel is not up to standard. Beds were not as comfortable, not vacuumed in area leading to dining area which was not really part of Premier Inn private guests. Food not cooked to normal standard, dried out bacon, overcooked eggs, reheated hash browns, and baked beans. Not up to normal standards as normally great at other inns. Not seated on arrival, so if your not familiar with the inns can be bit confusing. Dirty dishes left, not cleaned tables. Extremely disappointed. Please don't be put off, as normally Extremely good at other Inns. This one I will not be returning to.

Not worth paying the extra for the upgraded rooms because there really wasn't much difference between the upgraded rooms and the standard rooms. The coffee machine on the upgraded room didn't even work, the aircon was noisy and kept us awake, they should have an electric heater instead but didn't. What really annoyed us as being woken up early by the cleaners knocking loudly on the door even though we CLEARLY put the DO NO DISTURB sign on the door then for them to talk to us in an arrogant way really annoyed us! Overall quite disappointed as we were expecting a lot more for the amount of money so we will find a different hotel in the area next time. Also very limited parking so best to park elsewhere or don't bring a car.
