Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Booked a lovely spa for my sister in law for her birthday . I wish the experience matched upto what their billing was both on line and whilst on hold listening to some marketing recording, which by now I can recite word for word. Booking process was a bit long winded but hey that is the system. Firstly I needed to change the name on the booking, I called roughly 6 times to do this and no one answered, I left messages on the answerphone and even at reception but no one would return my call. Not even the duty manage on one evening could be bothered to call me back. On that evening I also got fed up with the receptionist calling me “my love” at the end of each sentence, very unprofessional. My sister in law enjoyed the spa but she wasn’t given her free gift which was included in the spa on the day and by all accounts once the treatment was done no one was interested in her for the rest of the day. It took almost 3 weeks to get the free gift delivered which was appalling. I had to chase to ensure that this gift was being sent 4 or 5 times. I asked for confirmation and tracking by email or by phone but nothing sent. At no point did anyone apologise. I find the staff and customer service absolutely appalling from management down. There was only one person who was helpful and that was a Spanish gentleman in the gym. I will not spend one penny more at this complex

Tired decor but good breakfast and nice pool. We were greeted warmly and overall staff were very nice and efficient. Our room was 212 and smelled like old man aftershave and stale air, luckily the windows opened. Everything was just a little tired, tired carpet in the hall covered with black duct tape, tired furniture with scuffs and marks, old fashioned style of bathroom. It was a little dusty in places and one of the lamps didn’t work but overall it was quiet and we slept well. We had an extra put-me-up bed which looked a bit saggy in the middle, perhaps it had seen better days. Breakfast was buffet and had all the usual stuff and was tasty and the pool was nice with a sauna and spa. Sadly we weren’t told there was an aerobics class there at 9:30 and it wasn’t on the schedule so our time in the pool was cut short. We wouldn’t stay again as there are likely other places with a little more modern decor but it’s fine for a night.

I’ve just had a very relaxing full body massage from a very professional and polite young lady called Shannon , I’ve had several massages at the spa that have all been very nice but today’s massage was the best by far!! I’m pretty fussy when it comes to how firm I’d like it , but she hit the spot perfectly and i came out of my hour long session feeling a brand new man . Thankyou you very much Botely spa & Shannon 🤩

We booked via a third party designed for people who are actively looking for a spa. The check in was seamless. The room wasn’t ready but we were allowed to go and use the spa facilities. We found out that we had been booked in for 10am, which we promptly changed to 2pm and 4pm as we had came to escape our children and have a lie in! The place looks a bit tired but is nice enough. It was clean. There was a pool, a sauna and a steam room. Just be warned that 3pm-7pm children are allowed in the pool, but some of them run ragged. As part of our package we had £25 towards food, so we ended up having a 3 course meal with drink for £15 each. However, we waited 30 minutes for a nachos and soup in the empty sports bar, and they were both disgusting. Couldn’t get them to answer the phone for milk! The room was clean and well presented. There’s no conditioner in the rooms just to warn you. The beds were extremely comfortable and we both fell into basically comas - didn’t even move until the next morning. There was a fridge in the room, TV and decent sized wardrobes. The spa treatments were quite nice. They weren’t 25 minutes each but we came out feeling relaxed.

Room average nothing special, some unusual stains on the curtains in the corner of the room which was very off putting. But worst of all was the horrid breakfast the eggs came straight out of the kitchen into the serving area and were freezing cold. I informed the waitress who worked there and all she said was that she would inform the chef, we still had to pay full price for this. The breakfast is absolutely extortionate for what it was, definitely will not be back.

If you’re thinking to go here with Peppa pig world break, avoid at all costs. We booked this hotel because it had a pool and we thought it would be nice for the kids after Peppa pig world to go in the pool. On arrival we were met with the most miserable receptionist who did not want to assist with anything. The room was ok, filthy with everything broken including the fridge. With kids we needed a working fridge to store snacks etc. The swimming pool we lasted 20 minutes in the pool because the chlorine in the pool was so strong, to the point my son’s skin had a reaction. The facilities were filthy. The food in the evening cost £90 was inedible. Breakfast in the morning was the same. Sausages like rock with hardly any choice of alternatives. We wouldn’t return and it really made a fun trip disappointing. We paid the extra for the better hotel when in reality we should have just booked a standard package!

Short one night stay & use this hotel fairly often. Check in was quick, room comfortable and clean with good size and lots of storage space. Breakfast was good but just a bit faster stocking up on the popular choices at busy times & clear used dishes from table a bit quicker. Reception staff helpful with local cab numbers but be cautious the cabs have to come from Southampton so not great availability and no Uber in area so you are a bit car dependent as out of town. Overall a good experience for reasonable price
