We arrived here a day late after going to the wrong campsite (I know, terrible right, it was late ok) haha we were rudely kicked out of the snotty caravan site up the road for "illegally squatting" at 3am however we explained this to the guys at Holmsley and they found it hilarious, we were given a free night's camping...

Stayed for two nights at Holmsley campsite and we thought it was perfect, cannot wait to return. We were travelling by motorbike and Stella, Simon and Kevin were so friendly and helpful when we encountered a flat tyre on the second day! Excellent location. Excellent bacon butties from the takeaway!

Holmsley is a brilliant campsite in terms of the facilities (lovely warm showers with a decent amount of space, toilets cleaned and stocked with loo roll regularly, a lovely small shop with basic takeaway service), but we did find it a little on the noisy side in the evening. There is a 10.30 curfew, which when you have younger children,...

First time camping alone in my van....staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful. The site had clean hot powerful showers.... Beautiful walks just outside the gates ....woke up to a baby deer wandering outside and the birds singing. I enjoyed my stay, met some lovely people and would definitely stay again.

My good lady and my self decided to take a weeks holiday in the New Forest as neither of us had been there in a very very long time, the 80's for me and the 70's for her. This being a very good reason to visit for us both to visit, as we had fond memories of days gone by...

Lovely site with access straight into the Forest - excellent walks and cycle routes. Campsite shower block and toilets very clean at all times. Staff very helpful and friendly. Shop well stocked and fresh bread in the morning was lovely. Little strange that there were no marked out pitches and you could pitch wherever you liked. This did cause some...

Stayed on this site over the weekend for a mini recuperation, the location is fantastic, the site is well laid out and the toilet and shower blocks were exceptionally clean during our short time there. Easy amp make it so easy to simply be "in" the new forest with all of its delights, great friendly welcome, tents were spacious and...

This campsite is in the middle of the New Forest with wild horses and cows wandering around freely outside. If you're a walker then you'll love it! Great trails all around through the most beautiful settings. Really well kept facilities on site and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I'd highly recommend this place! Beware though...there is a very...

We stayed at Holmsley campsite for 3 nights and would highly recommend a stay there. Definitely the best campsite so far. Clean, relaxed, great staff and a nice little takeaway. The site is close to good walks and forest. The dawn chorus each morning has to be heard to be believed, stunning. The ponies negotiating their way through the forest...

Booked for bank holiday weekend. It was there busiest weekend of the year. Reserved plots for three did not exist so had to wait while staff created space and ran electric from long extensions. All worked out well in the end. Decent little shop with hot food. Showers plenty but could have been cleaner. Very safe for kids. Staff worked...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Holmsley is a campsite steeped in history. Occupying part of what used to be Holmsley Airfield in the Second World War, it is one of 12 wartime airfields and Advanced Landing Grounds in the New Forest. Indeed, the aircraft hard standings and taxiways are now the campsite roads and parking spots! The site is predominantly grass, meaning there is a lot of space for the children to play. It also offers direct access to forest walks and safe cycling tracks; ideal for exploring the local flora and fauna with the whole family. Onsite there is a fully equipped shop that sells a wide range of groceries, camping essentials and games to ensure that your holiday runs as smoothly as possible. There is also an excellent take away; perfect after a busy day exploring the forest and when you want to put your feet up in your tent and relax. Opening time will vary throughout the season. Next to the site there is a large heathland which is fantastic for a spot of nature watching. Free-roaming ponies, cattle and deer are frequent visitors, and you might see squirrels, badgers and foxes if you are lucky. New Forest woodlands are thought by the locals to be at their very best in the autumn, during the annual Pannage season. At this time the forest turns crimson and gold and echoes to the sound of rutting deer. Holmsley is close to several stunning beaches including Barton on Sea, with Bournemouth and Poole just a drive away. Premium pitches are available onsite, and there are also toilets, showers and a launderette available. Please remember to bring your rock pegs for this site. Due to the low level of lighting campers must pitch up before dark. Pitch types at Holmsley There are 600 pitches at Holmsley, made up of standard and premium pitch types. Hi Melanie,

Our prices vary dependent on the time of year you're looking to camp, but for a family of four to stay at our Holmsley campsite it would be between £20 - £37 per night.

For the most accurate pricing for your dates, please use the online booking form on our website.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Emma (Camping in the Forest team)
