Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Attended a 2 day conference at the Hotel and was very impressed with the service and the location connected to the Hampshire Cricket Ground. Everyone was friendly and professional. Enjoyed a great meal in their Beefy's restaurant and a spa treatment during my stay. I would definitely return to a weekend visit

Hotel's Favourite
I cannot recommend this hotel enough. We had a cruise package with dinner, bed & breakfast and 15 nights parking. The welcome was very friendly and informative. The room was large and well appointed. The whole hotel was modern and well maintained. 3 course meal at beefys was one of the best meals we have had in many years. The restaurant seemed to be run by young staff, but all were very professional, friendly and attentive. Slept like a log in the huge and comfortable king sized bed. Next day the breakfast was in beefys and was a large choice if items hot and cold buffet style. Transfer too and from port was well organised and easy. We usually stay at hotels near the port, but this is very much a game changer and we will be staying here in the future. Just one disappointment..... we cannot stay for our next cruise in October as hotel is fully booked! Just shows how popular it must be. If you can, I definitely recommend you do stay here. And EXCELLENT stay, thank you all very much.

We had two nights at the Hilton for a friends wedding at the stay of the month. Arriving on the Friday we were able to check in early which was lovely, enabling us to settle in and find somewhere to watch the horse racing (it was Cheltenham gold cup day). Unfortunately none of the areas in the hotel were showing it but the gold club next door popped it on for us! We had a room with a balcony facing the pitch, which as cricket fans was fabulous! I managed to snatch some chill time out on the balcony between showers. Unfortunately we both had some door key issues (as did many of our friends) but that didn’t dampen our weekend. Our room was really well equipped, light, airy and very comfortable. The food throughout the weekend was superb; the buffet Friday nights the wedding breakfast on Saturday and breakfast on both days - really, really good!

Pre-birthday get-together. Rooms on the top floor. We'd booked a suite (February non-cricket rates!) and used it for a meeting place. The other two north facing rooms were also on the top floor. The hotel had provided balloons, chocolate and Prosecco which was much appreciated. We ate in Beefy's. Excellent for vegans and a good meal all round. We were last here for my 70th, some years ago when the hotel had just opened. Standards seem just as high.

We stayed at the Hotel for Valentines, the room was lovely and spacious, everything you need for a comfortable stay. The Valentines package was lovely with rose petals, Swans, a bottle of prosecco and the most delicious chocolate strawberries. We used the bar 'Beefys' for a snack and an evening meal and was most impressed with the qualtiy of food and drink all served by attentive and friendly staff. If you love cricket you will be happy with the view of the pitch and all the memorabilia of Sir Ian Botham. The Spa facilities were excellent, with hydrotherapy pool, jacuzzi, steam, sauna, Tedpiarium, foot spa and ice! Loungers on poolside for relaxation. A most lovely stay, thank you!

Stayed here with my husband at the weekend, the room was lovely and clean. However, there were no robes and slippers as advertised. We specifically picked this hotel due to the beautiful spa. We paid a substantial amount to stay here and when we arrived we noticed we had to pay £45 EACH to use the spa for 2 HOURS! Thats before any treatments! Ive never in my life stayed in a hotel in which you have to pay to use the facilities, especially when you are already paying for your room and breakfast (which was nothing special). Really let down.

Stayed here for 1 night on a business trip. Been here a few times and this was the quietest I had seen the hotel. Good hotel, friendly staff, good food. Would stay here again as it’s convenient for work and the rooms are spacious and clean. Good parking facilities which is always a bonus.

We had a wonderful 2 night family stay at this lovely hotel. As diamond members we were upgraded to a one bedroom suite with some thoughtful touches left for us. The view over the cricket ground was great and we loved the big balcony. Super clean and luxurious feel to the room. Breakfast was very good and all of the staff we encountered were very friendly. A special mention to Emma who was very helpful on messages and a huge thank you to Lilly for helping to make our stay a memorable one 💛. Steve, Kelly & Emily, p.s. we'll be back to try the spa next time (or a cricket match if Steve gets his way!!).
